Are there any places in LA or the valley with good strippers? You'd think there would be, considering all the hot guys out here. All I've seen so far are go-go dancers at some of the dance clubs, but nothing like the gaiety.

Any suggestions?

I have no clue man, but I gotta tell ya, you have the BEST user name I've seen here in a long time! }>

NOPE

On occassion, the Flex bathhouse chain and I presume as well the Hollywood Spa, has special events where adult film entertainers appear. That and some of the S&M events and private parties would be your best bet to see something more than a go-go dancer.

For the real deal, I would prefer New Orleans to the Gaiety, but then what do I know as just a dumb ho?

The first step is you must acknowledge the problem. Good for you Franco.

Sorry.... no bar-type clubs where they go "all the way" anywhere in the L.A. area. (You gotta go to San Francisco for that.)

However, the Midtowne Spa in downtown L.A. (a bathhouse) has weekly strip and j/o shows. Go to http://www.midtowne.com/schedule.htm for a schedule. Note that they're doing something in conjunction with HustLAball Week next week and will have performers nightly.

I never understood why they distinguish "strippers" from "JO" shows at Midtowne. They almost all seems to jack. What's the difference? Sometimes, some of them go in the crowd and let guys suck them too. but I agree - nowhere near as fun as SF or Amsterdam for that matter.

Plus on the whole the guys aren't very hot there. Maybe 1 in 10. The pics look great - but all the cuties do other Midtownes in other states if any at all.

I suspect Midtowne gets away with it because they're a private membership club, not a public accomodation. (Slim distinction, I know, since anyone can buy a membership for a day.) Smut laws in LA County are strangely puritanical in many ways.

I cannot understand how an area so populated, with a large size gay population and reasonable politcal clout does not have an actual Strip club :( .

I don't understand it either, and what's even stranger is that they apparently have plenty of all nude FEMALE clubs...

As for the comments about the Midtowne:

Every time I've been to a show that's designated as a strip show, I haven't seen them jack off (except maybe once.) And many times they don't even show their dicks! I think the performers probably don't like it there since there's virtually no tipping (not many people carry cash around in their bathhouse towels!)

The people who own the Midtowne also own the Melrose Baths in Hollywood and the 1350 Club in Wilmington. They used to have shows at those clubs as well, but they stopped them a few years ago. I asked one of the employees why this happened. He said that there were strict new city ordinances about adult entertainment in certain types of neighborhoods. I guess that since the Midtowne is in an industrial neighborhood downtown, it's the only one of the three that is now considered "acceptable" for adult shows.

J-Man I do know in many areas of SoCal the laws regarding strip bars are funky to say the least. No liquor if the club is fully nude and if you want a liquor license you can only be topless. There are also several entertainment licenses needed.

It has to be hard for any club to survive without liquor. Possibly this in part, is the reason why we do not see any male strip clubs around here :(

Well, when I go to those places in other cities (especially D.C.) I NEVER drink... don't want to dull the senses to all of that male pulchritude! Anyway, alcohol has empty calories--- eye candy is FAT FREE!

You're unusual.

The clubs make their money from the bar. (And the dancers tend to get better tips the more drunk the customers get. ;-))

DC is an odd duck here. It's one of the few locales in the country where dancers can get completely nude in a club that serves alcohol. And right in the shadow of the US Capitol, to boot!

In Chicago, they're required to keep the front covered. It leads to some interesting dance moves. I've seen guys show up on stage with a hand-towel draped over a raging hardon and call it "covered". (And get away with it!)

Stop by Micky's in WeHo some Thursday when the pornstars are milling about. There's some obscure law that they can't drop trou if they're wearing underwear, but otherwise it's OK as long as they put a hand over the private bits. Not sure what that's all about.

Well, usually. :+

This reminds me of the time I went to the Nob Hill Theater in SF to see one of my favorite video stars, Doug Jeffries. He never took his towel off, not on stage or even when lap dancing in the audience! Never exposed his dick! I still like him a performer, but I must say that is the first and only time I've seen a Nob Hill performer pull that off (pun intended).
