For those of you who use Rentboy , be aware that some of their escorts do not exist and they are transferring you to a crooked pay site.

Sent an email to a boy in Atlanta.. I got a reply that directed me to Apollon21 which is a site that collects money to give you a phone number for a boy that doesn't exist (probably).

I sent an email to Rentboy informing them of someone using their site to direct traffic to another Escort Site. Thought I'd get a thank you , instead their reply was they advertise with us and we don't see a problem

I replied that they were engaging in Deceptive practices by allowing someone to pretend they are an escort when they are in fact a less then reputable business that requires you pay for a telephone number that you most likely will never get.

I don't know about you but when I go to Rentboy it is because since the escorts have to pay , it is more likely they are currently working and will reply to your emails.

I don't expect to be directed to another escort site. Let then advertise on their Homepage but don't let them pretend to be an escort when they are not!!!

Right!

You think that's deceptive which is certainly is... then you should check out their pricing structure for escort ads which is HIGHLY questionable and down right unethical from my view point.

Examples.

My ad here in Chicago at the advertising level I have it at is a set rate. I move that same ad and membership level to another city, say NYC and then my membership is double the cost.

I used to create and use travel ads till after a couple times of doing this, I realized that my travel ads for 3-5 days was costing me almost half of what I pay monthly for my ad. To make it worse, they now have minimum limits on the number of days your travel ad has to be posted despite how long or short amount of time you'll be in a city.

As you can see, I'm not a fan of them or all the hundreds of SPAM messages I receive from partnered companies advertising products and services that I'm not interested in nor expressed interest in. Over the course of the last 3 months and 7 requests to have my information removed from their e-mail blasts, they still have not done this even though I have confirmation that it's been submitted and completed 7 times now.

But then again, RB only seems to have a strong hold in one region and other than that, they have limited coverage in the majority of the US despite their claims to fame. When I run my weekly reports, very few hits come from RB and I hear this complaint and many others so I wouldn't put much stock into that site. Their customer service is horrible on the escort end as well so it's not surprising they would be as rude if not more to you.

I'll get off my soap box now. :)

Romann,

You can stand on your soap box in front of me anytime. Unfortunately none of the sites are perfect. I like Rentboy, when it works and is not down, because I like the large pictures better than the small ones on M4RN. But RB is often slow to load, sometimes when I'm looking at certain city, no matter how many times I 'click' on the link it tells me there are no escorts there. Then sometimes when I use the Advance Search-- it will list all the escorts in that state even though I have picked a specific city.

M4RN I dislike the smaller pictures even though I know you can enlarge them. I like seeing al the pictures large at the same time. And then there is the problem of the dead ads which depending on the city may be more than 1/2 the pages under a certain cities. Finally Rentmen the 3rd major one-- it just doesn't have enough escorts yet, and it's difficult to see everything using my iPhone.

So none of the 3 major sites is great. They each have their shortcomings.

Thanks, Rex, for your breakdown of the limits for each site. As a newbie, I'm not always sure whether my concerns/uncertainties are based on my limited/lurking experience.

And thanks, Romann, for your POV on this. And for your very nice soapbox.

If you do a search on this forum for Apollon21 you'll find they're well known as a scam. Total scam. Take the money and run scam.

You'll also find that Rentboy could care less as long as the ads are paid for. RB even nominates Apollon21 every year in their completely bogus "awards" revenue generation scheme.

But thank you for bringing the focus back to them. Like a sore tooth, they're always just sort of "there".

I do enjoy this site more than the others, all the sites seem to have problems but Daddy's is definitely the friendliest. Romann you can get up on that soapbox anytime! I'm almost tempted to do a Chicago trip!

Rentboy? But this isn't England!

It's nothing but GREED more than Capitalizm at its finast! ..Make a Buck anyway possible they have been Laughing all the way to the bank for year's.

They realized a long time ago there's not to many willing to "Play in the Working Guy AD Market" in NYC.

Who knows someday for some obscure reason they might get axed from Advertsing their Wares! ;)

I would like to see Rentmen really get started. I cannot add anything to the comments Romann, has made concerning Rentboy and as far as men4rent now is concerned, you really don't know anything about the escort other than some basic basics,

Ya... paying premium bucks for anything beyond basic level spot in ad services and then having to pay full price for each city you travel to for the entire month... Sucks if you are traveling to three cities and have to pay over $200 per city... So, you pay for your own city and premium spot, then another $600 for other cities~ OUCH!

It's disappointing to learn that Rentboy.com isn't user-friendly and is disproportionately more expensive for providers (especially the travelling guys). That really sucks! From this client's perspective, I've always found the providers advertising on Rentboy to have a higher response rate than those advertising on other sites (M4RN, Rentmen, Adam4Adam, etc). Plus, it seems half the men featured on M4RN are inactive (thus, no contact information is available for them). That can get quite frustrating.
