Bosguy -- well at least I guessed right. Of course knowing a bit of the backstory doesn't hurt :) I'm looking forward to making your acquaintance at Palm Springs. Even though we're staying at different hotels, we'll have plenty of chance to get acquainted. Five weeks from tonight is the dinner and Follies.

You have one of my favorite guys in the world with you. Hell you've got quite a few of them with you there. I'd love to be staying where you all are at but I have my purposes for staying elsewhere. All I know is you will have a great time with Ty. But rest up. You'll need it :)

But TC don't give Ty any ideas about the paddle. You want to haze the guy and bring him into the family. Not scare the living bejesus out of him :)

See you there.

I'm thrilled to be "travelling" with such an elite group of guys. I'm sure there are a lot of guys out there who would love to be me for that weekend.

I don't think Oliver has to get out the paddle. Tyger is bringing it as part of his "goody bag". My imagination goes into overload thinking about whatever else he has up his sleeve (or in his pants)--I know he's mentioned mountains, deserted spots, cameras, naked bodies, and exploring--I don't think he's taling about Lewis and Clark.

Lee doesn't have to worry about me being scared--can't be scared when you're moaning.

Signing off from one slut to another.

Take care.

Good to hear that Bill. All I can say is welcome to the family. The bizarre, dysfunctional, twisted, but god I love them to death family.

Not necessary. TSA doesn't care about large amounts of cash, but they do about if your listerine bottle is larger than 3.4 ounce ...[/color]

Actually, they do, or so my lawyer advised me when I wanted to carry the contents of a safe deposit box from one coast to the other. As he paints it, and he would know, they can confiscate your cash on the spot. You're perfectly free to go catch your plane, and even to get your cash back if you can explain to the forfeiture court where it came from. Otherwise the IRS keeps it, the presumption being if you haven't claimed it and cannot explain it, it's ill-gotten goods. Said lawyer says the TSA gets some cut of confiscated funds, thus providing their motivation.

His solution was cargo pants. The kind of xray machine that your luggage and carry-on goes through would pick up huge wads of cash (the bills apparently having tiny metal strips in them which register en masse) but the xray machine you walked through wouldn't. This was before the body scans. "You can put anything you want in those big, poofy pockets. And if you've managed to fill them up, why don't you just put your keys, watch and jewelry into your carry-on," said he. Smart man.

Again, this was before body scans and with an amount of cash much, much larger than we're talking about elsewhere in this thread.

That's interesting. I've been traveling with some large amounts of cash in the last 10 years in my carry-on that has been thru x-ray machines thousands of times without anyone paying attention to it. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong ... :D

My point was no need to remove the money from the x-ray and your carry-on. With the new security and screening measures you'll take a pat-down anyway ... and keep it under $10 000, Bosguy.

Are you traveling with more than $10,000?

For international travel:

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/778/kw/travel%20with%20cash

You are not permitted to travel with more than $10,000 in cash unless you submit a "Report of International Transportation of Currency or Monetary Instruments" form FinCEN 105. With the form, I don't believe there is a limit to the amount of cash you can carry.

For domestic travel:

There is no legal limit but flags go up if TSA discovers more than $10,000. Chances are you will be questioned and required to prove your reasons for carrying such a large amount. Apparently, queries often depend on what you look like. You can find lengthy discussions on this subject at flyertalk.com.

It's easy enough to just keep it in your wallet or pocket. Honestly, I think going thru the regular airport security is not going to be an issue. They are looking for metal things... things that explode etc~ bottles of shampoo and toothpaste that people forget to pack in there check-in luggage.

I've been thru the airports with large amounts of cash... it's not been a concern~

When you get to the hotel. Pop it in the safe~

Manpurse

If you are concerned with the ergonomics of carrying 30 to 50 100 bills, perhaps you can put it in a travel bag or manpurse and carry it with you through the airport and then put it in the hotel safe when you arrive.
