Any street scene left in NYC?

New York has become more Disneyfied than Disney. This combined with internet escorting has greatly diminished any chance of finding and hiring street trade. That being said there are a few adult bookstores with ample supply of black and latino hustlers.

The Street Scenes have gone the way of the DoDo Bird...Mainly due to I would assume the Age of AIDS.

 

The last memorable Street Scenes were in the early 80's..Christopher & 53rd & 3rd Just Memories for those Lucky enuff to live thru them....

That's not true at all. There's still a street scene in midtown. Notably Times Sq. and Chelsea. I know this because I've checked it out successfully as recent as last week.

 

Also, I know up there in the Heights it's still pretty grimey... so I know if there's a street scene in midtown there's probably one in the heights... that's just such a far trek lol. I know a couple years ago I was leaving a gay bar in the heights and this hot little Dominican papi offered to let me suck his dick for $20 and I said no. Not sure why...

If you have to ask, I don't think it's a scene you should be playing with. Seriously, lol... But look around and it'll be pretty easy for you to see. Spend a couple hours in the Times Square area after about 10pm. Chelsea is a little bit more specific.

I live in Chelsea (22nd St and Eighth Ave) and have not seen any street scene in the last 5 years!

Is this true? I usually only see a couple of guys (mostly Latino, as I recall) hanging out next to the one store. And I don't think they do too well.

Place I was thinkin of is on the east side of 8th ave by 39th st.

That place at 8th and 39th charges to go upstairs where the trade hang out -- from what I remember -- and in waiting downstairs browsing the videos (and there is a meagre selection) one has to wait a long time to see who is upstairs -- personally do not feel like forking out the fee unless I know therfe is something worthwhile to climb up to that small tight space.

 

Whatever happened to the more comfortable roomy areas where you had 2 or 3 rows of booths, guys standing two or three deep.... the good 'ole days...

Walk on 8th ave from 34th to 42nd at dusk. It will be obvious where to stop and u will also see trade in the street. $30 is the going rate to suck off a blatino guy. $50 will get u a decent fuck. Mostly straight trade so no kissing. I usually walk up on the east side and then down on the west side of the street and find that in a couple hours I can find 2 or 3 guys I like. U also need to be obvious that u are cruising so do not walk at the usual NYC pace but meander and stop and look at some random building... They will also approach u. "hey how u doing." if u smoke even better. I don't smoke but I pretend smoke (dont inhale) and have my pack of cigarettes to offer and to be asked. Eventually u r a regular and it all takes less time. Good luck!

Bluboy, yes, you are right. I know the zone and sometimes if you know the routine, and are noticed, you can get something pretty reasonable. It does help, as you said, to carry a pack of cigarettes and a lighter (as a way of striking up a conversation), and know in advance, kissing is not really a big opton with these guys. The group that hang out upstairs on the east side of 39th (??) in the XXXVideo store also sometimes go outside on the sidewalk.

 

Just wish the trade that used to hang out at the Port Authority had not been dispersed and displaced; also all the great video pick-up places have long since gone Asian (ownership) and ceased to attract clients and trade, since some of them can be obnoxious in shouting at guys to pay for a vid or get lost.

 

Ah for the days of the Kings Theatre or some of the other movie houses before DVDs. And sadly, no bar in Manhatten has been able to come up to the level of Stella's in the late 80's and early 90's before it shut down.

Be careful and be warned that a lot of the guys that work in this scene are now cops or are working for the cops. I have a good friend who used to hustle over there and now since it's the only notable street hustler site left in Manhattan the cops are in on it.

Yes there are a few cops but if u know the street scene u can tell who they are. Remember the street trade are the very poor largely and sometimes druggies. If the skin looks too pretty or the clothes look too clean or they smell really fresh or the language is too direct or too educated.... It is not street trade. I can't quite explain how u tell the difference but given what I just said you will be able to spot them right away. You can see the cops because they don't quite fit in. Plus if are really nervous, find one street trade u know is obviously street trade who you don't necessarily like and give him $10 for no reason and ask him to point out the cops to u and he will. They all know. And you can also have a permanent spotter. Ask "hey take this and buy yourself a sandwich. Wanna ask u something. Any trouble for me on the street today? Anybody I need to be careful of" he will tell u...

I frequent this area often. I have a few regulars so I do not get caught up in the entrapment thing. That being said one of my boys told me that the cops have been spending time in the upstairs section of the 8/38 ABS. They are there to go after the hustlers not the customers( I guess the hustlers are customers also since they have to pay $15 also). They show up and start asking price and action questions. The smart boys pick up on this almost immediately. There are still some very hot black and Latino hustlers in the area. They know that the days are numbered so they communicate with each other and their regulars about any law enforcement action going on. Its the newbies that get in trouble.

street scene is alive and well. there are princes and lords of the underworld who have mastered the art. i like to think of myself as a street luminary hence the name.
