Back on topic, what do escorts do to stay competitive? I have a boyish look and just had some botox and it worked great. A "cute" 40 has to keep it up or become a daddy. A very hot fellow escort is totally freaking because a lot of clients have told him that while still super hot, he is starting to lose his looks at 42. Expiration date 2012!

This is exactly what I was curious about when I posted the thread, though I was interested in hearing from clients also.

I am pretty luck. I don't take care my skin well at all except avoiding the sun. I have very few wrinkles and lines. If it was not for the salt in my hair, most would not guess I am 46. I have had many friends who suggest I color my hair (and some have offered) but I look at it and I like it. I have to keep my hair on the shorter side to avoid looking like an aging hippie but I am low maintenance. The less bother, the better.

With escorts, one very important thing is looks. Most clients like younger guys, or at least guys they THINK are younger. A loot of 40ish escorts have the experience and practice to really know how to relate to each man and please him, from my experience. There is a definite market for Daddy type escorts but I think keeping fresh is part of the job if you decide to stay in it. Some do it well into their 50's but that age is a well guarded secret.

I avert my eyes from the bathroom mirror. :)

Aging can have some upside for men, as noted above. Once I started going grey in my mid-30s, it got easier to charge more for my consulting services.

Yeah, maybe, but the wrapper only serves to attract my attention. Keeping me coming back requires more between the ears than between the thighs, and soon the wrapper is just a nice addition - unless you let yourself go.

My gardener and houseboy, Nip and Tuck, both keep telling me I should stop with the 'procedures' already.

But since I hit Platinum Level with my plastic surgeon, the perks are starting to add up. For example, I just got a free bottle of carbolic acid for between-peel touchups and, on Valentine's Day, he'll be taking off two liver spots for the price of one. http://www.maleescortreview.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Well, maybe just one more lip plumping, just to even up both sides. Right now, it looks like I'm making a perpetual moue.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. http://www.maleescortreview.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/getlost.png

How much time/effort do you spend on anti-aging? When did you start, and if you care to say, how old are you now? Have you seen the benefits?

My question pertains to treatments or products that fight superficial aging, especially on the face. (Let's exclude the gym for now.) Examples include topical creams--Rx or not, Botox, fillers and even cosmetic surgery. I'm wondering whether gay- and bi-men spend as much time and money on this stuff as women do.

As for me, I've found that generic Retin A works better than any $$$ cream I've found, though I use a moisturizer when my skin gets flaky. I'm often in a natural light-less environment during the day, but when I'm not, I use a medium-priced stable sunscreen. (Unfortunately, most U.S. sunscreens can be broken down by sunlight, rendering them worthless within a few minutes.) I also do some light laser stuff to keep my skin from looking too red, and occasional preventative Botox. I'm in my mid-30s and started doing most of this at age 30.

Results? In general, people assume I'm in my early to mid 20s though that's true of a lot of people my age now that people are staying out of the sun. While staying at my parents place, a repairmen told my mom that she needed to show me how something worked "in case she [i.e. I] comes home from school one day and you're not here." (And he saw me up close.) I've had a number of other episodes like this too: People often say to my sibling: "I didn't know you had a little sister." In fact, she's 7 years younger than I am."

So to me, it's worth the cost.

Nothing at all... Maybe because I am still 25? :p

I used to be concerned with aging but when I show my magazine spreads from my 20's to my clients 9 out of 10 of them say that I look better NOW than I did then. I find that the attitude nationally is changing in that the optimum desirable age in the community is around 40- let's say 35-50. The same is true for escorts. My secret , I think, is my healthy lifestyle. i have never smoked or used drugs and I barely drink. I have always used sunscreen especially on my face and since I love the beach sunscreen is a must. Never had any kind of cosmetic procedure though would not be opposed to it except for the risk of complications. I find most clients are more concerned with the escort being intelligent and worldly. Also most clients don't want a guy young enough to be their son. I know there are exceptions, of course, but I am just speaking of what my clients have told me. http://www.rentboy.com/mikey9nola1

I have never bothered to stop the aging process, because I don't think it is worth the trouble. Other than using moisturizer regularly on exposed skin, and sunblock when I am outdoors here in the desert, I depend on regular exercise to keep me in shape. What hair I have left is still relatively dark, but I think the grey in it looks nice; my beard, however, is now almost completely white. I was surprised the other day when someone on the tennis court asked if I intended to play in the seniors tournament, then quickly amended it with, "Of course, I don't know if you are old enough to qualify." I told him I had qualified for Social Security before I learned to play tennis.

For what it's worth, my mother never used anything but mild soap and water on her face, and people still commented on how soft and smooth it was when she was past 100.

From what I've seen of this board, I agree. There will always be the ultra-twink lovers, but the rest seem to be drifting up slightly in age tolerance, if not preference.

thank God! job security. It is actually ok now to admit a birthday on M4RN or RENTBOY. My age is in and actually considered hot. I no longer try to compete with or keep up with the 24 year olds because I know that most potential clients out there won't hire alot of the 24 and under year olds anyway. It takes alot of pressure off. I try to just be myself and relax........

Blindness Goeth Before A Fall

I used to pride myself on the fact that I really wasn't wrinkled for my age ( just turned 50). Then I realized that the time I look at my face the most was in the morning while getting ready to work-- 'sans glasses'. And I'm extremely near-sighted. So my image appears fuzzy even standing as near as the washbasin.

So I've decided no LASIK for me. In fact my new motto is

"When ignorance is bliss--it's folly to be wise"

Viva la Near-Sightedness!!!!!!

Evo Pitangay, the noted Brazilian plastic surgeon, has a line of "stuff" sold in Bergdorf's. A face "serum" and "cure" and "eye lifting gel". It works wonders. I don't use it but once a week and when I do, people remark -- favorably. I did smoke until 7 years ago, I am currently having a scotch and some water while typing this, and as the "name" indicates, I do NOT avoid the sun. Had my upper lids done as a "moral boost" 4 years ago and if the massive cardio routine doesn't start working real soon, liposuction here I come!!!

Just remember poolboy, too much of a good thing can lead to opposite results. I just got yelled at by my trainer less than an hour ago for over training on cardio. And he's right of course. Throw in some Tabata training and HIIT -- it'll shorten your sessions, mix up your training so you don't get bored and get better results. Of course it's intense and they may kill you but hey that's what wills and life insurance are for. :)

I did a quick search, and it sounds like the active ingredients are peptides. You can get less expensive peptide creams elsewhere.

I'm generally skeptical of non-Rx topicals since I've seen "miracle creams" over the past 2-3 years (which is when I got interested in anti-aging).

To those considering any kind of procedure: Please make sure you've done a ton of research on the doctor first. A good place to start is the MakeMeHeal forum. I haven't had lipo, but I've seen/heard of terrible outcomes, such as uneven fat removal, etc--and that's not including the tragic results.

None these days~~~ I used to get facials and things like that but not any more. I eat healthy and exercise. Stopped drinking these days. I have more energy that way.

My biggest thing has been from suffering from TMJ. Teeth are the biggest deal to me when it comes to looks. I spent over 7000.00 in 08 for crowns and nightguards due to TMJ

My plastic surgeon has a BS from MIT in some kind of engineering and an MD from Harvard. That seemed okay with me and she is drop dead gorgeous.

FreshFluff thanks for the info about the peptides. I will look into less expensive options. The ladies at Bergdorf's will be mad though...not to mention the guys in the cosmetic department.
