Club 117 - A Disappointing Experience

Had heard so much about this place, couldn't wait to try it. Tuesday is their specials day--all room rentals are free, and that draws a big crowd. Too big. The place was jammed: every hallway, every room, every locker room--people everywhere. Hot sweaty and packed like a cattle car. I would guess around 100 boys, all in towels--and maybe 70 or so clients. Almost no one spoke even a word of English. The boys were varied but most were bronzed and big, many with multiple tattoos. I tried to find one that would at least work

at some English; no dice.

 

So I settled for a real cutie--this one looked just like a very muscular gymnast and he had a cute face. Then I learned we'd have to wait for a room. That took 1 1/2 hours. 1 1/2 hours in a jam-packed, hot, sweaty sardine can. If that's your cup of tea, you'll love this place. I didn't. As soon as we got in the room I knew it wasn't going to be great. He kept staring at the straight porn on the TV set.

 

He gave me a half-hearted massage and we played around a little, but before things got serious, he demanded more money than what he'd agreed to (R$80). I went along. Then he insisted on a lot more. When I refused, everything stopped (I was only getting a release from him; no sucking, no fucking). I don't mind "gay for pay" at all. But this was just "pay for pay." When I finally managed to shove my way to the check-out counter, I asked them for a taxi as it was late and the street was dark. "Just outside" they said. I went out. There were none. An ending in line with my entire evening at Club 117.

 

I think many will like this place, but I much prefer the more laid back atmosphere--and boys--at Point 202.

My last visit to Rio was underwhelming. I reported it a few threads below on the "Is Brazil Sauna Boy Quality Slipping?" thread. In my case, both Club 117 and Pointe were dismal. My issue was more related to the quality of the available boys (very poor). I did a return visit to Brazil in November (only Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre) and the talent available was somewhat better. I have not had your experience of Clube 117 being so packed one had to wait 1 and a half hours for a room. I would have been steamed as well.

 

Regarding the language issues, it is Brazil afterall and Portuguese is the native language. Usually there are a few boys around that do speak some English.....but most do not. Solutions to this are for you to learn Portuguese, go with a friend that speaks Portuguese and can translate for you, or look harder for boys that do speak some English.

Remember it is HIGH SEASON in Rio. What you experienced is definitely not the norm. I've been to Club 117 during Carnaval (2003) and subsequent years in 2004-2007; the ambience and the number of guys and clients has been manageable even during "free night" cabine evening. But I DO NOT LIKE the wait on "free night." I lose interest as well as feeling.

If you do not want to wait for a room and save some Reais, go on a Friday or Saturday night.

 

Don't speak the lingo? Hire a boy to be your interpreter and have him negotiate for you. Enough speak English at 117 that would like money without the bother of sexing up a gringo and save you money in the long run.

 

Mondays at Meio Mundo and Tuesdays at 117 are the mother lode. Very, very busy nights. The best selection will definetely bring out the most clients.

 

The boys know that with Tuesday nights being free cabine nights, these are the nights that will bring out the most client

Further help

 

If you find a cutie on Tuesday night, take him directly across the street to the motel for a longer session of sex and snacks ( or snacks of sex?) and pay for the motel room instead of the Clube 117 Tuesday night freebie and wait.
