I invite you to mark your calendars for March 19 and 20, 2011 for the 7th Annual Palm Springs Weekend. There will be a dinner (and perhaps a show) on Saturday the 19th, and a "pool event" at my rented condo in the afternoon of Sunday, the 20th. More details will be announced as they become available.

In the meantime, I wish everyone a happy holiday season!:D

Oliver,

Thanks so much for this advance notice!!! I know of several regular posters, me included, who would love to make it this year. This advance notice really helps the planning. Do you have any recommendations on places to stay? There are so many gay resorts in PS, that it is a very difficult decision, so any "inside" scoop would be appreciated. You can send me a pm on this if you prefer not to post it here. Thanks again.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your family and friends too!

DD

Hi Guys,

Regarding suggestions about places to stay for the Palm Springs Weekend here are three possibilities:

1. Shilo Inn

1875 N. Palm Canyon Drive

Palm Springs, CA 92262

760-320-7676

Expedia would be a place to look for a good price here. It is well situated near

both downtown and Oliver’s. There is also an excellent place for breakfast next

door.

The one caveat is that the owner of the chain is a major donor to anti-gay causes. For this reason my guest will not

stay here

2. The Hacienda

586 Warm Sands Drive

Palm Springs, CA 92264

800-359-2007

760-327-8111

This place is a beautiful gay small hotel/bed & breakfast. The pool and grounds

are clothing optional. Also very convenient location.

The one caveat is that it is pricey.

3. East Canyon Hotel + Spa

288 E. Camino Vista

Palm Springs, CA 92262

877-324-6835

This place appears to be very nice but the location not as good as the previous two but not bad. I’m staying here

The pool and grounds are NOT clothing optional.

The one caveat is that I have never stayed here before.

Hope this helps. My one suggestion is book early as this is the height of the Palm Springs seasons and things book up quickly.

Guest greatness

oh my just get a queen size bed and sleep closer to each other.. What would my Mammy say if she heard that my Ashley is sleeping with two guys in one bed but come to think of it.. those southern ladies used to get their beauty nap in the same bed (Gone With the Wind) before the evening ball so I guess that's acceptable. Just talk about "politics" and "economy" in the room. Kisses and hugs~~~

You'll need a place with a king sized bed!

Oliver -- Thanks So Much. I am planning on coming. And I will be bringing company -- Dane Michaels and Ryaan Morgan. Now where in the world to stay. Time to start looking. Oh boy, But after I go to the gym.

Thanks for the heads up!

And see you there.

Now I'm jealous.

Well my guys certainly aren't queens, that's for damn sure. :) But we're all prim and proper southerners. We'll all sleep in twin beds, one per person.

Like hell!

L.B.T. just as an aside to your comment. I bought a King size Canopy Mattress topper/cover and put it over two twin mattresses. It is SOOOOO much better than a King bed because you've got two suspension systems underneath a common mattress and bed covers. Now when my sleepover guest or I get up in the middle of the night, our movements are isolated to the twin we're on and we don't disturb each other, at least until he gets hungry in the morning and needs his protein...

Is it the Shilo you are saying that the owner is no bueno?

Thanks for the good information Oliver and Epigonos. I'm planning to drive over and join in the festivities this year at least for Sunday afternoon if not the entire weekend. It will be awesome to meet so many of you face-to-face finally!

Holy crap...... I finally get to meet the infamous Jack twist! !!!!

Protein? Protein? I'm not sure I understand, ISC?

<snicker> Sounds like a great idea, but I don't think we can do that at the Whatever resort we are staying at. But I do love the sound of it. Although the idea of the three of us in one twin does have a kind of really intimate sound too, doesn't it??
