Escort Sites ... and their owners

Hey guys - first let me say a big HELLO to everybody. I just registered ... but I have been reading all these posts for a while and have thoroughly enjoyed the banter and wit.

 

So here is my question: Does anyone know anything about the owners of Escort Websites? (i.e. [link:www.rentboy.com|Rentboy.com], [link:www.meetlocalmen.com|MeetLocalMen.com], [link:www.joeyandcarlo.com|JoeyandCarlo.com], [link:www.maleprime.com|MalePrime.com])

 

I ask because I noticed a few thinly veiled insulting references to one particular site's owners in a recent post and it got me thinking. We all use these sites on a daily basis but we don't really know much about the people behind them - what they get out if it, how fairly or unfairly they are representing the escorts, etc. I don't really have much experience with these sites, but I am curious if anyone has hd positive or negative experiences in dealing with the men (or women) behind them. It would probably be too much to hope for that they are all sexy, muscular webmasters who service their escorts, right? ;-)

 

Does anyone know any of these guys? Or know anything about them?

Some of the comments, IMHO, reflect the experience of both escorts and clients with the sites. I could only speak of my own experience, as far as dealing with them to update photographs, update email addresses, and other information. Some were very responsive to me and I therefore assume were responsive to others and to the clients. However, just as I would not comment on what one of my clients may have thought of Escort X, as that is a very individual opinion, I would not offer an opinion beyond: I personally have gotten good results from Site "A" or Site "B" and am satisified with the customer service.

 

In this particular regard, I know at least one of the owners of the Working Boy Network from a purely non-escort standpoint, but not personally, only through on-line chat, and I know he is gay and I assume his partner is as well. I personally did not receive much business from this site until I changed my pictures recently and then I did get a great deal.

 

I remain very satisified, personally, in spite of some of the problems they have experienced, minor issues really, that I ascribe to being a new site, I remain extemely satisifed with Male Prime. I have no idea who the owners are, what their sexual orientation is or what their gym schedule might be. I have received good clients from this site, my last review came from someone who picked me out from this site and I also feel that having the clients be able to view full nude shots of us without paying an AVS or Man Check or other fee is a benefit to the clients and ultimately to us the escorts.

 

Finally, a gentle word of unsolicited advise: watch the loaded questions on here. Some people prefer the escorts like attractive pieces of furniture. We can be handsome, well built and have our uses, but we should not have opinions, much less controversial ones.

Seriously, Franco's right. Personally, though, I really enjoy it when escorts participate and even when I don't agree with Rod or Franco, their comments make this board a much better place... so welcome!

Me too. I love its design & user-friendliness so much that I've hired its web designer Adam (who also happens to be the owner) to do my website (I'm actually going to make rickmunroe.com a working site, and not just a vague thought in the back of my head) (not much room in there anyway, with this huge ego). He's a very sweet (and hot) guy who used to escort himself, which I think is very cool. He seems to be coming at this from the perspective of both escort & client, and as Franco said, it's great that we can post free nude pics with no AVS. Rentboy is expensive, though...that and its design are two major drawbacks, I think. I used to get work from Joey and Carlo's site, amd found them to be very friendly in emails & IM's...but recently I noticed that my ad was inexplicably removed. So don't ask me about that site. :+

You're in NYC. Every escort that I've talked to about this (and I only hire maybe 2 or 3 a year) says that they get far more business from rentboy than any other site. For me, it has the largest and generally the best selection of cock, for what it's worth.

Some of us are cheap whores. That is why we do not use cell phone. I paid $30 for my pager, which includes ownership of the pager and a year's very stable and quality service (Page Net), which works well in Los Angeles, San Diego and Palm Springs. I have not yet tested it in Vegas, where it is supposed to work, but I doubt it will since it did not work at all in San Francisco, thus costing me a lot in opportunity losses.

Working Boy Networks

They are working on building seven sites. For those guys interested in uncut men, they do have their uncut site up and their idea is to have a site (I think one will even be say young "twinks" - one is the uncut models/escorts - another is muscle worship/body builders, etc.).

I found Rent Boy to be difficult to navigate and I suppose if I had a faster desk top and DSL (see my 1992 thread herein), I might feel differently. I can page through American Male and Male Prime and Working Boys very quickly and easily.

 

I know many of clients who come from the mid west and other small towns do not have DSL and cable modems and I think web site operators (and escort web sites) need to take connection speeds into account more than they do.

Not to worry, Franco -- a pager with occasional spots of non-coverage is just about the same as a cell phone with similar non-coverage areas.

 

I got my cell phone for about the same price you got your pager, and it has voice mail I can check from any landline. That's probably the only benefit that would weigh one over the other.

 

When I got the cell phone it was touted as "National coverage" although the (very cute) salesman admitted to me that they didn't *really* have coverage in Alaska. I've had problems with low signal strength in a few areas around LA, as well.

 

A pal still carries his pager primarily because a lot of people already have that 800 number, but also because it doubles as a travel alarm clock. LOL

What about being able to reach the escort directly without having to give your phone number (especially good for married clients who need to be discreet & anonymous)? I love that I can call anyone from anywhere, and can be reached (almost) anywhere (I always answer my phone, to the astonishment of some callers...do most escorts make them leave voicemail?). And with a pager, you have to use pay phones, no? Yuck!
