Remingtons in Toronto

Remingtons is back, just like the way i remember it used to be only now with more action. It was slow on Tuesday, better on Wednesday, awesome on Thursday and overwhelming on Friday, i didnt stay for Saturday. On weekends girls are allowed upstairs but only guys downstairs. There is a great variety of Dancers from musceled jocks to twinks, guys from Montreal including a porn star, Russian, Brazilian, cute guys, gay, str8 and gay for pay, one guy could have been a model for A&F, all friendly and not as agressive as at the Montreal Bars. If you dont mind spending $20+ for a private dance you will get your moneys worth. What astonished me most was the number of HOT guys, This bar is awesome.

Glad to hear Remingtons have turned things around. I stopped going to Toronto years ago as Remingtons had gotten so bad. I will need to plan a return visit now.

thanks for the report. Glad to hear it is back to it's former glory. Too bad the "private" prices have gone up...along with the value of the C$...no more really cheap weekends of fun.

Is this place worth the 10-hour roundtrip drive in January, in the dead of winter? I miss the "stroll" from 10 years ago in mid summer.

Honestly twinkboylover28, I don't think so. I live in Toronto and I like to go there fairly regularly, but that sounds like a long drive. And some nights there are totally dead.

I agree, many hot times were had there for a long time. When the decline started, it was unstoppable. The last time I went a nice enough looking guy who was not my type agressively sought time in the back with me. When I firmly said no, he threw my drink at me - I just walked out and that was it. Rarely go to Toronto anymore.

I was there on December 30th and it was blazing hot!!!!... Something for everyone... Hot A&F boys (my favourites). Didn't really pay attention to the names because i was in sensory overload. Some very muscly guys and twinks too. All extremely friendly and welcoming. Did not try the champagne room however.... so don't know how permissive that is. If it is close to 100, i'd rather pony up a little extra and get the full service treatment from a professional. The only thing is they allow women in after 9 pm so it's a little awkward but i can understand the appeal of these studs for guys and girls alike.

I have had some wonderful times at Remington's, but doubt I would go there now if they allow women, or I would leave before they arrive. IMHO, it would really change the atmosphere and the interaction with the dancers. I am planning on going to Toronto in the spring, so would appreciate any other advise on alternatives to Remington's.

I feel the same way. When women are present it diminishes the attention male patrons get from a lot of the dancers.

Let me get ths straight? A stripper whom you were not attracted to actually threw YOUR drink on you.... simply because you were not attracted to him and/or didnt want to spend money on him in the back room?

 

That guy should have been fired on the spot! You should have definetly been offered a new drink on the house, and have your dry cleaning expenses covered..not to mention some complimentary lap dances thrown in from someone you actually like.

 

I would have thrown a massive scene if that ever happened to me....well probably.

Exactly! Hence the reason I often feel some strippers are a total waste of money. A $100 can get full service.

I seem to recall reading that women are allowed only downstairs (or upstairs, can't remember which) so you can segregate yourself from them if you don't want to be around them. Now, whether the dancers truly circulate or not, who knows. Some one who is local can tell us.

 

I really miss TO and Remingtons. I'd like to head back up there but it got too expensive to fly when AC jacked their prices way up 2 or 3x and the C$ gained all that ground. It used to be an enormous bargain for Americans.

I had never heard of Flash (unless it is the latest incarnation of Goodhandy's). But this line from their website makes it sound like fun

A number of dancers from Montreal have been traveling to Toronto lately (nothing surprising yet) but not to dance at Remington's or whatever that club is now called ("Magnum"?) on Yonge St. They're all excited about a club called Flash. It's a members-only club. Now dancers can strip in Toronto without the much hated $400-a-year City of Toronto stripper license because they are "members" of this club. Annual membership cards cost $25 for dancers AND for customers.

 

I'd like to go check it out myself but my travel plans don't include Toronto for the time being. So I offer you guys this information, if you're visiting Toronto remember to check out this new club for us all at MER!
