I found it fascinating to read through this whole thread, and remember what cut and slash parrying went on then between posters. It makes the recent Ryan Cade threads look so tame. The opening was an emotional jolt for me, because it was started by latlrnr, whom I did not know at the time, but who later became a very close friend, and is now deceased. The accusations of hypocrisy by woodlawn, Doug69, VaHawk, etc., seem so ironic to me now, because latlrnr was an innocent: at the time he was closeted, lived in a small town, and just coming out, and Devon was the first escort he had hired, so he followed his blog intently, and really was concerned to understand what was going on with Devon. Latlrnr was shocked by the vitriolic response, and was very cautious about participating in the MB after that.

The other thing that struck me is that almost no one else involved in those exchanges is here any more either, although most of them were frequent contributors then. Jackhammer and Rick Munroe pop in here occasionally, and Oz, Tampa Yankee, Four Aces and Lucky can be found regularly at MER, but the rest have disappeared into cyberspace (or have morphed into new identities). Some were driven away by various circumstances, and others just drifted away over time. I think there must be a limit to how much personal infighting people can engage in on a message board before they get too tired or bored to continue. On the whole, I think we have a much more civil group of regular participants these days, which is one of the reasons why I'm still here.

Good God!!!!! Talk about memory lane. Devon was one of the first escorts I hired. I started hiring escorts in the fall of 2002 when he was very active in the bay area. I flew up to San Francisco a couple of times to spend time with him. He had an awful apartment in the Tenderloin District which he used ONLY for painting and sleeping. His art work was interesting BUT really NOT my thing so I didn't buy a piece. We ALWAYS got together a my hotel. Sex with him was great fun. I always thought of him as something of a playful puppy. He had a very nice lean body and was always cut, Cut, CUT.

The last I heard he was living somewhere in Texas, has come out to his family, was going to school and had a partner. I sincerely hope where ever he is he is WELL and HAPPY. He was one of the early great ones.

So True! The Cast has definitely changed over the Years.. much like a SOAP! ;)

But I do think 1 or 2 have just had a "Character Name Change" to keep their Characters Storyline Fresh.

Josephga I really doubt that he has a blog going or is involved in escorting. He attempted to move to Boston at the end of his escorting career. He was arrested back east while driving to Boston. He had developed a meth habit and actually served some time in jail. At that point his whole world began to fall apart. After being released he moved back home to Texas and started to recoup his life.

I have a smile on my face just remembering the sex we shared. Damn I hope life is being GOOD to him.

I had several delightful sessions with DevonSF during his occasional visits to New York City, and always found him to be one of the kindest, hottest, most sympathetic escorts in my experience. He actually made one or two porn films, which I suspect are not available other than perhaps through some "used porn" outlets.

His most extraordinary physical feature, in my experience, was the tightest set of abs I've ever seen on a guy. He called himself "slim and muscley" and that was absolutely correct. He loved to have somebody take a good punch at his gut, which was solid as a stone wall.

I was really upset when he was arrested and went through his melt-down, but happy to hear from time to time on this site that he had bounced back, come out to his family, acquired a partner, gone back to school, and was leading a completely new life. Good for him. He was also one of the most intelligent escorts I'd ever met, and I suspected that at some point he was going to go back to school and undertake a professional career.

In the meantime, I can still fantasize about those stone-hard abs. I hope he's kept his physique up in his "new life."

UWSman either you have a life with abs or you have a completely different life. I have a completely different life as do most of us. I suppose there is the rare guy out there who can have a life and abs but I have never met him. Certainly the number of those men over 25 dwindles down to numbers approaching those of the passenger pigeon and the dodo bird.
