I don't get all that from the joke. Unfortunately it must be over my bald head. However, I am told that opening onto the tracks is illegal now. It has to go to a holding tank. On the other hand I've read that there really isn't anything wrong with them opening onto the tracks-sun, wind, rain, filtering through the rock on the tracks breaks wastes down naturally.

My parents had this on a 78 rpm record when I was a kid, I'm pretty sure. I was learning to play clarinet and one of the required etudes was "Humoresque". Dad started snickering and when I asked him why he trotted out this oldie.
