Former child star Gary Coleman of "Different Strokes" sitcom fame died this afternoon of a brain hemorrhage at a Provo, Utah hospital. Coleman was rushed to a hospital in Utah after he fell and hurt his head earlier this week. Gary's wife made the decision to pull life support today. He was 42. May he Rest in Peace.

R.i.p.

What you talking about Jack?

Lol, PK....“What'choo talkin 'bout, Willis?" Coleman provided us some good laughs, especially in his younger years.

he never seemed to catch a break, after "Diff'rent Strokes"....financial trouble, health trouble.....

I don't remember if he had any controversy swirling around him at any point, but I hope he was doing OK and was mostly happy these last few years....

He had a sad life being treated horribly by his parents who stole most of the 18 million dollars he earned during that shows run.

He said once in a interview and I quote:

"I don't have any friends and don't have any intention of making any. People will stab you in the back, mistreat you, talk about you behind your back, steal from you. And they're not really your friends. (They're) only there because you're a celebrity or because they want to get something from you."

Throughout his life, people have used him and/or taken advantage of him, namely his parents, NBC, the producers of "Diff'rent Strokes". Now he is mostly a laughing stock. Most people would be bitter, too, if their life unfolded like his.

Unfortunately, the last few years were not good for him. Since his marriage and moving to Utah the police "visited" his residence over 20 times for domestic violence issues, assaults, and anger problems.

Within the past 6 months he was jailed and couldn't post the $1,700 bail. A local businessman (whom he had never met) bailed him out.

He's also had some serious medical issues including heart surgery and a seizure (about 2 months ago). I understand the latest brain hemorrhage was the result of a fall at home. I wouldn't be surprised if he had another seizure and struck his head.

I really did feel sorry for all the troubles he had in the past few years. I believe he had a photographic memory (which helped him memorize scripts) and I also heard he was almost a genius. But, he certainly had a lot of challenges in his short life.

More Details

It now appears that Coleman and his wife divorced in 2008 but continued living together. This is the same woman that, as a "wife", made the decision to take him off life support.

Some of the locals are speculating that she may have legal problems as a result of her actions.

They also released the 911 call she made for assistance. I found it interesting that she would NOT provide first aid and actually indicated she was calling from another room in the house.

Here's a link to the actual call:

IMHO, her voice doesn't seem consistent with a loving, caring spouse.

Wtf?

Ok, I’m listening to the 911 call…Really? WTF? This ex-wife was too panicked to tell him to apply pressure to his bleeding head...or drive him to a hospital? She was acting more like he was a stranger on the street and she was too scared to help because she might catch something from his blood…something just doesn’t add up.

She could be one of those people who cannot stand the sight of blood. My dad is like that, he completely freaks and comes close to passing out at the sight of blood.
