fuck that rage rage against the dying of the light

I guess one can say that our luck has run out...

say it aint so...

but I think I know how he feels...

I have been there and sometimes one needs to move on...

Lucky, you have been a pillar of this community and we will sincerely miss you... I certainly appreciate the work you have done regarding the Arts Forum...

So in the final analysis I am happy for you...:)

I am happy if. . If... this is truly what he wants and not that he has given up. What lucky brought to this forum was a certain sense of honor and fairplay. A straight forward approach that called fair... fair and decried foul when he believed it so. I have no choice but to accept his decision but I will refuse to applaud it. For we all lose too much

Lucky-

While you have chosen to move onto bigger and better things for personal reasons only known to you, your absence will be noticed and life on the forum will not be the same. Maybe we should all take notice and consider how the forum has changed (both good and bad) even in the year plus that I have been a member here. It's sad to see you go but hopefully you will stay in touch with those that consider you their friend.

It was an honor to meet you in NYC last year for coffee and most entertaining to chat with you and your partner. Things just won't be the same here. There is definitely a trend of posters (clients and escorts alike) exiting the forum which is sad...

I would like to clarify something in my earlier post. The comment about participation in this site being an addiction was my perspective, not Lucky's. He has his own reasons for moving on.

Well if those reasons are changeable I'd like to know them. Though they are his. Losing people like lucky is not something this forum can afford to take lightly. And I really think we need to take those reasons seriously as an issue now and in the future.

Prince Lucky, you have been one of the stabilizing forces here in Hooville, and all done with humor.

I wish you well, and hope you make a return!

Thanks for the years of participation Lucky. You will be missed. I hope you do decide to return. Maybe you should have a 3-year farewell tour like Cher! Anyway, happy huntings in whatever you do.

I hope that at some point in the not-too-distant future you find yourself ready to return.

You've been a major contributor here, and the board has been a better place because of that.

Best wishes.

Well, I tried to draft some pretty compliments for you but it seems I don't do goodbyes very well. All I can say is I miss you already.

Milestone

I don't spend as much time here as I have in the past. A friend alerted me to Lucky's departure.

No one person has done more to nurture this MC than Lucky. Over the years he started threads to stimulate converstaion, pass on information, and offer support/advice/and yes criticism.

But even the criticism was most often constructive or in defense of another poster. I didn't always see things the same way as he did, but he was always a man of passion when it came to this message center.

I was lucky to meet Lucky and his partner on my first visit to New York.

Lucky was then and is now a stud with a brain.

While I may not be here as much in the future, this place will be diminished with his absence.

Here's hoping he will find this an entertaining environment again soon.

I want to join the many voices here in paying tribute to Lucky. You're a great guy, a great mind, always fun to read, always interesting. I hope you will be back. The place won't be the same without you.

Thanks, Lucky!

Well, at times Lucky could be pretty nasty/cynical. That being said, however, many of his postings were very insightful, kind and intelligent...so I guess it balanced out for me.

To his health & well being.

I agree, at times he was pretty nasty and cynical. The saving grace of his schizoid personality is that he is fairly bright and often (but not often enough) had something intelligent to say during his 10,000 plus posts.

Despite his occasional nastiness, I suppose I miss his posts.

I joined this message board shortly after Lucky. Yes, there were times, mostly in the last year or two, when his posts were annoying; he seemed to assume a role as unofficial moderator. I enjoyed reading Lucky when he was one of many strong voices here -- most of the other strong voices have left.

But, a very high percentage of his posts over the last decade were valuable and insightful -- a much higher percent than mine.

I shall miss him very much.

The remarks made here have been very gratifying to me. When I posted the thread, I was fairly down on the MC and feeling like I wasn't having a good time. It seemed that certain people followed me around the board, making potshots at their will.

Now that I have been away for a few weeks, I have regained my sense of humor and feel less annoyed by those whose very presence here is meant to create trouble rather than add to the fun. People like this are inevitable in every group. In some cases, I think they mean well. Some are just making sure that I don't err in my posts. I am the first to concede that not all my posts are winners. But, being human, I do my best, and I do think that I listen to criticism as needed.

My purpose in coming here has always been to entertain myself. I never thought we wanted a forum where everyone agreed with the other, so I often try to start some provocative threads. Some win, a few don't.

A break from the message center helps one realize that many threads are not nearly as serious as they might seem at the time. This R&R should be helpful for me if I choose to return. But, I would like a little more time off, and, in the meantime, encourage each of you to have fun, try to make the place interesting, and be as courteous as you want the other posters to be.

Now that I have been away for a few weeks, I have regained my sense of humor . . .

Not a day goes by that I don't miss your contributions, my friend. I've had to content myself with imagining future posts. ;)

- Now that I have been away for nearly a month, I have regained my sense of humor, and finished the Sunday Times crossword puzzle.

- Now that I have been away for over a month, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the Times crossword puzzle, and planted a vegetable garden.

- Now that I have been away for a couple of months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, and run a four minute mile.

- Now that I have been away for three months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, and begun teaching English as a second language.

- Now that I have been away for nearly four months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, begun teaching English, and started a hedge fund.

- Now that I have been away for five months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, begun teaching English, started a hedge fund, and founded a legal aid society for seniors.

- Now that I have been away for nearly six months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, begun teaching English, started a hedge fund, founded a legal aid society, and begun writing my memoirs.

- Now that I have been away for more than six months, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, begun teaching English, started a hedge fund, founded a legal aid society, finished my autobiography, and begun working on a cure for cancer.

- Now that I have been away for over half a year, I have regained my sense of humor, finished the crossword puzzle, planted a garden, run a four minute mile, begun teaching English, started a hedge fund, founded a legal aid society, published my autobiography, found a cure for cancer, and ended world hunger. All of this constant activity is driving the boyfriend absolutely nuts. He has begged me to find a hobby, and so I have decided to start posting again. :)

But, this is for real, as the time has come to move on and I have no doubt of it.

Not since Cher, has there ever been a more arrogant or untrue statement uttered. And she's got talent to excuse herself.

Funny - After more than 10,000 posts, I did not think he would stay away - just like the other one who recently announced a departure and who has come back with more posts than ever.
