Hotels? Boys? These are the things I am looking for on my first trip to LA and San Francisco in many years. I guess I prefer to stay in West Hollywood and the Castro. But, I am open to suggestions. The main thing is that we are looking for a nice clean place in the gay area of each city. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated.

Naturally, I am also looking for a few cute boys on my journey. Twinks are my cup of tea but am open to all types. Any suggestions on any boys or men in those two areas would also be greatly appreciated.

The LA hotel "debate" has been in several threads. Bottom line is the most central, clean and reasonably priced is the Ramada on Santa Monica in West Hollywood.

In San Francisco there is one twinkish type Nick (reviewed on this site) he use to live in SoCal. He does shave his body hair though smooth, likes to party a little too much, very friendly very versatile and very upbeat.

Also, in the Bay area is Adrian. He also shaves his body hair, very thin but not skinny, little body fat, very friendly and a nice thick uncut cock.

Several recommendations in SF:

'Inn on Castro ' was stayed in by friends, seems to be OK.

Now rentboys that are 'twinky'

Kevin 415-605-5328 (pager) seems to be your all around best, although hes' about 27yo with a bit of a 'tude.

James 415-983-0560 a young surfer type you can see at the Nob Hill Theatre. What a performance!

For good erotic massage -

Eric 415-816-6288 a young nordic type, excellent body with slightly poor complexion. Very good to excellent massage with happy ending, but pricey @ $140/hour!

Jeff 415-282-3797 young asian massuere, very professional. Possibly some 'hand work' at the end.

Remember that SF is cold and foggy this time of year, bring a sweater at least.

Yes -- he's leaving for NYC in less than a week but plans to make return visits (frequent ones, I hope) to San Francisco. He's VERY hot and has the sweetest disposition. He joined me the other day on a call with one of my long-standing regulars, and my client looked like he'd died and gone to heaven when he saw him. :9

Darn, looks like we will miss each other. I come to the west coast on Aug 7 for about a week. Las Vegas, Los Angeles and then San Francisco.

Adrian looks cute. Perhaps our paths will cross eventually! :)

I will look into some of your suggested boys. Thank you! And, thank you for the suggestion of a sweater. That did not even cross my mind. And, I sure one will come in handy. Thanks!

Gay Areas and Gay Hotels

The problem with gay areas and hotels in those areas, is that you tend to pay more for less. In San Francisco, I would strongly encourage to consider staying in a downtown, Union Square hotel. I was there for a week, seeing clients, at the Hyatt for approximately $55 a night, plus the hote tax and the one time Priceline fee. The hotel is centrally located, right by the subway line, which takes you to the Castro in minutes.

Having lived in San Francisco for ten years and being a twice a year visitor since I left in 1997, I can say that unfortunately the Castro area B&Bs and the hotels in and near the area, leave much to be desired, in this person's opinion.

Finally, with regard to the Ramada, up until a few months ago, it is where I would recommend clients stay respecting price versus the other West Hollywood area hotels. However, they are no longer offering the steep discounts of last winter and spring, and you can find good values and better quality at some of the Sunset Strip hotels, which while not IN the heart of boy's town, are still within walking distance; this includes the Grafton and the Standard.

Finally, definitely bring bathing suits and sandles for Southern California where you can step outside naked at 8 a.m. and feel no discomfort and several layers of warm clothing for San Francisco, where outdoor nudity at any hour might cause certain "pain."

Hey Mike: In WEHO, I like the Wyndham Summerfield Suites as a convenient, very reasonable, BIG room. Ramada is ok too... about the same price, right on the boulevard, but much smaller rooms.

In SF... try the Hotel DIVA. Reasonable, and the junior suites are very nice.

AS for boys... I know you know Court Logan in LA, and he is always one of my favorite. In SF, I have been dying to go to NobHill and meet James. I even bought their internet service for a while so I could watch him strip on my computer. He is beautiful (and Canadian and you know I am now hooked on those Canadian boys). He may be straight, though... so I am not sure how far he will go in a private (based on our chats in the chat room).

Good luck... but I think you have sequestered all the most beautiful twinks in NYC! LOL!

If you're looking for a twink in California you best bring one with you from your *campus stable.* California seems to be fresh out :D

:) Actually, I am bringing one from NYC, stopping in Las Vegas picking up another and taking him along. But, then when we get to California, I want more. :) Can you really ever have enough?

Franco and Mark, Thank you! I appreciate your advice. I am doing my booking for everything after the weekend. When I take the trip, I will let you know how things go. Again, thanks for the advice.

This piece of advice might be too late for Weho, but if you're looking for a nice place, there is also the Wyndam Bellage (or Bellagio?) something like that, right off of Sunset. While not DIRECTLY in the heart of WeHo, it's just on the edge, can still walk to stuff, it's very nice.

Of course, someone once told me about the San Vicente Inn. Never stayed there, though probably very cruisy? have fun!

If you are into cruisyness, definately the San Vicente. A bit richety, but lots of action around th epoll, with both visitors and local talent. 'Brogan' is the one if you want a twinkie rent-boy.

in SF check out the Monaco Hotel, aKimpton Group Property. Good drugs can be had only a block over.

The Argent is nice too.. but is in the Financial District. Is dead at night/weekends. But SF is a small city, so is easy to get about (7 miles x 7 miles).
