Guess what kind? Staph, of course, but those nasty naked tanners also left some residue that they should have cleaned up!

Not only that but tanning can really age someone. I used to when I was a lot younger be all about tanning (not from the beds) and being out in the sun every waking second of the sun. And although very dramatized Mary's friend in the movie Something About Mary really woke me up and now I try to actually cover up and limit my exposure.

I've never used a tanning bed but I did take a lot of sun in my youth and then after I retired I spent 5 winters in Miami and got a lot of sun. I also got BCC (basle cell carcinoma) which is a fairly benign (if one can call it that) form of skin cancer. Only one spot and had it removed but now I see my dermatologist at least once a year for a checkup and I avoid much sun exposure.

 

It's hard to convince young people that one day they will be old and if they don't take care of their skin (and other organs) they will regret it!

Staph bacteria can spread through the air. It's highly prevalent in hospitals. Let's not demonize all tanning beds because some owners are too lazy to clean theirs properly between use. I used to love a sexy speedo tan line. The lighter skin pulled focus to all the right accoutrement.

Why do people tan "too much"? I understand people not wanting to look pasty, but is dark orange a sexy skin tone? I mean, I don't know many people who find that attractive, but the people who are actually over-tanning think other people find it attractive. Both men and women are guilty of this.

I gave up tanning years ago in favour of Vitamin D supplements, hats, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen. I liked the look, but it's simply not worth it in the long run. I tried the home spray tans, but found it very tricky to get a natural-looking even result. When I was using tanning salons, I used the stand-up tanning booths for superior hygiene and a more even tan. You stand on paper towels, with your only point of contact being where your hands grasp the overhead handles.

He is a champion at safe tanning via a tanning technique that was imparted to him by no less than Trent Fosters as I recall... some sort of special oil combined with moderate exposure to the sun. I personally LOVE tan lines, too. They highlight and frame my favorite parts of a mans body. I'm definitely aroused by the juxtaposition of a muscular, bronze torso and a creamy white ass.
