Unfortunately Austin has usually been slim pickings for escorts unless someone is visiting. If you are attracted to him- and I say this gingerly as many people on this Forum don't like him-Benjamin Nichols from San Antonio. I have no direct knowledge of him. The guy I used to like in Austin doesn't advertise anymore, and I don't know if he is still in Austin or not. For eating, if you like barbecue, go to Stubb's downtown. There are also good barbecue places in Lockhart, Tx.

 

This post was a little disjointed, but I'm tired. And I used a stream of conscious type of reply.

Austin is one of my favorite cities in the country. If I were younger and didn’t have all my family and friends here in Southern California I would move to Austin in a flash. It is a political, intellectual, social, and cultural oasis in the midst of an otherwise Texas desert. The University of Texas exerts a very positive influence over the entire city.

 

If you intend to stay in downtown Austin, which I would recommend, there are two really outstanding hotel options. The Hyatt Regency Austin (512-477-1234) and the Radisson Hotel & Suites-Austin (512-478-9611) are excellent choices. They are both located on Congress Ave. on opposite sides of the Congress Ave. Bridge. You can walk to the State Capitol and there are numerous interesting restaurants and coffee shops in the immediate neighborhood of these hotels. The Radisson is the more economical of the two and is currently my hotel of choice.

 

I am an absolute FANATIC fan of Texas hill country barbeque food. Barbeque was my original reason for visiting Austin. Unlike Gar1eth I prefer Artz Rib House, 2330 S. Lamar Blvd., 442-8283 in Austin to Stubbs. If you have a car and the interest, in my NOT so humble opinion, the two best barbeque restaurants in the area are: 1.) Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, 604 W. Young St., Llano, 325-247-5713. The only problem with Cooper’s is that it is a good one and a half to two hour drive from Austin, 2.) Louie Mueller Barbeque, 206 W. Second St. Taylor, 512-352-6206. Many barbeque freaks, myself included, consider this the VERY BEST of the best. The brisket and beef ribs are to die for. Taylor is about a thirty to forty minute drive from Austin.

 

Now as far as escorts are concerned I can recommend two guys with whom I have personal experience. In Austin I highly recommend Jody (512) 423-5639, email [email protected]. Jody is short about 5’5” but has a body to die for and is a really nice guy. My second recommendation is Benjamin Nicholas email [email protected]. Ben lives in San Antonio but is usually willing to make the drive to Austin. I totally agree with the Radisson. Have stayed there often and always enjoyed it. I'd check on-line and see if you can get an internet rate. I've usually been able to find a good deal.

Ryan, if you're looking for some good Southern-style dishes, be sure to check out Hoover's Cooking. Huge portions for affordable prices. There's 2 locations in town - one near the old airport and the other in North Austin off 183. For barbecue options, I'll add Rudy's, County Line, and the Salt Lick to the list of those already mentioned. For clubbing downtown, most of the gay ones are on 4th street near Lavaca and Colorado. Kiss-N-Fly, Rain, Oilcan Harry's are the most popular ones.

 

As far as escorts, the pickings are pretty slim locally. I would concur with Ben Nicholas from SA as an option. Also, Darius from Dallas travels through town often and Romann from Dallas came in for an overnight with me once. Another option is William Cox from San Antonio, though I'm not sure if he is still escorting. I think that I have reviews for each of these guys available on here, so feel free to check them out.

Austin is a favorite of mine as well. I echo the comments about the hotel San Jose and recommend and listings for barbeque is dead on. I will second the opinion regarding Corbin.
