Careful, there, Tomcat. Young and cute, yes, but nobody TOO young. The parade route is already littered with drunk high school students. And to think that some four decades ago I was one of them . . . tempis fugit.

But at least it's a more ecumenical parade than it used to be. I saw one kid (maybe college age) holding a beer and wearing a green t-shirt and a yarmulke.

St. Patrick's Day in NYC

Thanks Karl for the St. Paddy's Day greeting. Here in NYC it was a perfect day for a parade. Tens of thousands of party-goers lined 5th Avenue to take in the festivities. Lots of men in uniforms and kilts. No floats but numerous bands, organizations, and bagpipes. Great day for the Irish!

Following the parade I joined my friend "foxy" for a delicious traditional Irish meal at O'Neal's restaurant across from Lincoln Center.

Sadly, March 17th also marks the 5th Anniversary of the closing of the Gaiety. Still no new clubs in NYC have come close to matching the entertainment provided by the "G". :(
