Gonna be a tough nite for judging

Tonite was Shania Twain night on Idol.. The only contestant who got negative reviews was the frontrunner Crystal Bowersock.. Casey, Aaron, and Sioban were, in my opinion, the front runners this week..

My guess as to who will get the ax this week would be Big Mike...

Big Mike Should Go...

Lurker, I agree 100 percent. Big Mike had the least memorable performance. This was the first Idol all season where I've enjoyed ALL of the contestant's performances.

The judges gave him positive and quite favorable comments! I hope he remains; there needs to be diversity in terms of talent as well as ethnicity, and he deserves a spot based on both!

In my opinion, this week will be anyone's guess. I just thought that other than Crystal, Mike was the least memorable. He has a great voice and a good stage presence, but he really a hasn't grown as a performer, IMHO...Look at how much Lee or Aaron, or even Casey has progressed over the competition...That is what they (the judges) are usually interested in..

And speaking of Lee vs Crystal.. I keep thinking of last year, where Adam was the front runner almost all season, then the "unknown" came rushing up at the end to become victorious...Will we see a repeat of that this year?

Just Getting Started...

I think this season's competition is just getting started. The mediocre talent is all gone now and the Top 6 are terrific. All of the remaining contestants could cut an album that I would readily buy=download. Wish none of them had to leave this week.

So Long Siobhan...

Idol voters sent glass-blower Siobhan Magnus back to Cape Cod tonight.

Siobhan was about to be the best performance of Tuesday night, imho, but then she hit the very last, endless note...too much screaming. She relied on the high notes but in the end it was too much of a good thing...and annoying.

Aaron Bows Out...

Seventeen year-old Aaron Kelly was voted-off American Idol Wednesday evening. imho, Harry Connick, Jr. was entertaining, instructive and overall constructive as mentor to the "Top 5" this week.

...too bad and unfortunate for this young guy. His performance was definitely much better than that of the tall blond cutie who probably received the votes (to remain another week) based on his looks and not for his performance on Tuesday eve. All of the judges had nothing but unfavorable comments to make after he had sung!

Harry Replace Simon Cowell?

I agree with "jacktwist" that Harry Connick, Jr. was terrific on Idol this week... He's a singer, song-writer, music composer and actor. He should definitely replace Simon Cowell as American Idol judge next season. Apparently lots of other people agree, too. There's even a Facebook Group campaigning for Harry to replace Simon: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Make-Harry-Connick-Jr-A-Judge-On-American-Idol-NOW/119214398105978?ref=ts

Great idea! Harry Connick, Jr. would be the ideal replacement for Simon... He'd be a whole lot sexier to look at every week, plus his friggen hot New Orleans accent makes me weak in the knees!

I also love Harry Connick Jr. However, I think he would be better utilized working directly with the contestants, as he did this past week.

Simon is not a musician, he's a music producer ... and one that says things as he sees it. From my perspective, the perfect replacement for him would be Sharon Osbourne.

Simon's replacement

I think either Harry Connick, Jr. or Sharon Osbourne would be a suitable and effecting replacement judge for Simon Cowell. However, I'd darn sure rather listen to and drool over sexy Harry every Tuesday and Wednesday night.:)

Kris Allen Shows Some Skin...

Season 8 Idol Winner Kris Allen has been pumping iron, tightening his physique, leaning his torso and looking sexier than ever. These pics show shirtless Kris in the Bahamas last month:

Jamie Foxx-Mentor

From towleroad.com:

Jamie Foxx: I'm Not Gay (and I Could Eat Pizza in a Male Shower)

Late last week Jamie Foxx denied he's gay in response to suggestions made earlier in the week by fellow Sirius radio host Howard Stern. The two radio hosts are in the midst of an on-air war.

http://towleroad.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c730253ef01347fa9d314970c-200wi Said Stern of Foxx earlier last week: "He seems to be in some bizarre thing where he wants to start in with me so that he can get some attention for his channel on the Foxxhole, which is an interesting name too. The hole. I wonder which hole they're referring to? How many holes are in Jamie? He's got an ass and a mouth. I don't know what he does with them...I gotta sh*tload of stuff on Jamie which isn't a lot of fun...even the name change to Foxx, it's interesting that he chose the name 'Jamie,' I could get into the whole f***ing thing...My guess is we're probably not on the same team. I think he's playing for a way different team. I don't know what team he's on but it ain't my team."

Said Foxx on Friday: "I'm not gay...A lot of people say that I'm gay and that doesn't bother me, because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I'm secure with myself. And I'm not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I'm not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhea."

I have to disagree with Toulose, Jack Twist, RockCreekRnr, and Goodfella69. I know they are the chorus for Harry Connick, but I simply don't see Harry taking on the role, or being particularly good at it. As Simon would say, sorry!

Lucky, Who would you like to see replace Simon? Just curious.

Who's Next To Go?

After last night's performances, I'm guessing Casey James will get the boot tonight. He's cute and a strong musician, but his vocal range is lackluster when compared to the other three remaining contestants, imho.

Who is leaving Idol tonight? It's obviously between Casey and Big Mike. The only big shockers would be if Crystal or Lee were to go. They seem destined for the final unless there's a game-changing performance next week. I agree with the judges: the duets were by far the most entertaining part of last night's show.

American Idol's Top 3 Revealed...

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1879/ph2010051105088.jpg

The final three contestants still standing are Casey James (Cool, Texas), Crystal Bowersox (Elliston, Ohio) and Lee DeWyze (Mt. Prospect, IL)

Michael Lynch is headed home to St. Pete, Florida. His voice is wonderful and when he's singing just the right song, it can melt hearts. I'm looking forward to following Mike's musical career.

Yes, I, too, wish Michael (Big Mike) the very best in his career. I think he should have been one of the final three contestants along with Crystal and Lee.

Casey remained based on his "good looks" and glowing personality.

American Idol Finalists

It took 3 months to reach the obvious... that Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze would be in the finals. No surprise. Both are very talented singers and head-n-shoulders over their competition. It will be interesting to see which way the voters go... Last night Casey James received the least amount of votes, not sure if he's going to have a huge singing career ahead of him but he does have a devoted following.
