Goodfellow I agree with you. But i think Meryl Streep should win. Others are probably the right ones.

Best Picture: "The Hurt Locker"/"Avatar

Hollywood loves its war movies. Hollywood also loves special effect movies even if there if really NO story worth mentioning

Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow - "The Hurt Locker"

Wonderfully politically correct. The first woman to win Best Director

Best Actor: Jeff Bridges, "Crazy Heart"

Did a great job and the industry owes him.

Best Actress: Sandra Bullock, "The Blind Side"

Same as above. She did a great job and the industry owes her. Meryl Streep has already won.

Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, "Inglourious Basterds"

Definitely although I would rather see Matt Damon get it for Invictus. He was fantastic but it isn't going to happen

Best Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique, "Precious"

Another politically correct choice but I can't really comment as I refused to see the film. I have never understood why people pay good money to see depressing films.

All the "Industry" people I have spoken to agree with GoodFella, however none of them are members of the "Academy". There has also been some discussion that with the Streep, and Bullock factions about equal in size, there is the possiblilty that Carey Mulligan has a chance to be the Spoiler for "An Education".

I completely agree with this list EXCEPT for best picture. It'll go to Avatar.

There are 300 Academy members/voters out there who worked on Avatar and will likely vote for Avatar.

Best Actress: Meryl Streep

Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz

Best Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique

I agree with GoodFella on his predictions. But, I have to say that for the first time in years, I have seen all of the films in which actresses have been nominated. The finest performance, imho, is Streep as Julia Child. Coming in a close second is Helen Mirren as Countess Sofia Tolstoy. However, Bullock will win as a sentimental favorite even though her performance, while good, was not a stretch for her and not deserving of the award.

TB, my thoughts exactly...Streep and Mirren are both deserving of the Oscar, but Bullock appears to be Hollywood's "Golden Girl" this awards season. Oh well, if Bullock wins, at least we will get a good look at her husband in black tie--he's sexy in a very "bad boy rocker" kinda way!

I didn't think Meryl Streep or Sandra Bullock gave the finest performance of the year, but rather this accolade should have been bestowed upon Gabourey Sidibe who provided a very inspiring powerful performance in "Precious". The Oscar for best actress should have gone to Gabourey Sidibe.
