TomCat, as you get that new puppy...

Remember the Pet's Ten Commandments

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

How True!

Remember the Pet's Ten Commandments

glutes, ol' buddy, honestly your last post (above) made me shed a few tears and that's not an easy task for a middle-aged cowboy who considers himself tough as an old leather boot! I've got a couple of aging "best friends" (my 2 german shepherds) that I am crazy about and love to pieces. I'm printing these 10 commandments and taping them to my mirror so I'm reminded of them every morning. Thanks for sharing.

A new Begining

OK guys its been a couple months since the awful tragedy that was the impetus for this post. But I needed to tell you all today. Thank you for the words that got me through that time. Thank you for all the support and just the tears along with mine. And thank you Romann for reminding me just how important a dog is to our lives -- more importantly Thank Buster, Ive missed that guy since the trip to Dallas.

That all said, I am happy to report today the inclusion of the newest member of the Tomcat household. a nine week old female Boston Bull Terrier.

Whats in a name

Well now that has been the question of the day:

One side of the argument was she looks like a bat (Bella, Buffy, Elvira Alice...) and a host of Vampire females ensued.

The other side was the one who wanted something pretty (since her face is well ok admit it so ugly she's cute) (daisy, princess, duchess, even izzy were considered)

But I finally won out

I have argued she's a Boston Bull Terrier and after being voted down for Sox (given we live with them damn Yankee's) It was settled....

Say Hello to BEAN

Congrats!

What a cute dog~~ You might have named after our Duchess Ivana since our Duchess loves pets but I like "Bean" a lot~~~ She isn't ugly based on the picture you provided us~~.

She is so lucky~~ I would call her Princess Bean if I ever see her. :)

Congratulations, NYTomcat.

Bean looks like a real sweetie.

Give her an extra rub between the ears for me.

The top of her head must be just soooo soft.
