help please...does anyone know what this steel material is called, where one can acquire it, and who works with it? i aim to design and build a special bed, if you know what i mean, but i'm hoping someone can tell me what this stuff is and where to find it. help please!?!?

I believe the bed is made from lighting trusses (used for portable theater lighting). I've seen these used extensively for Broadway-style theater companies on tour.

 

You may want to check with a local theater and see where they get them. Also found them at this website:

I think this same type of set-up is used for displays at trade shows and booths. Perhaps your local rental company can point you in the right direction. They might also be available at your local hardware store. I doubt they'd have them in stock and they could probably special order them.
