Is requesting photos from potential clients acceptable?

I hardly ask for photos, but I am wondering if anyone does this as a standard during the screening process. It's not that I am judging attractiveness. I just think it would be good to place a face with the person I am going to meet. Or, is this just taboo?

As a client, I wouldn't mind sending a picture of myself but truthfully I don't have one online. I would feel very rejected if after getting the picture the escort decided not to pursue the get together.

Asking a client to send a face photo (or any photo for that matter) is the antithesis of being discreet, which most; if not all clients prefer to be. I have had very few send unsolicited photos to me, but I dont think asking them for one is any standard procedure.

I think if someone sent a picture then got rejected they would accuse you of screening for attractiveness. About 2 years ago I wanted too book a massage with someone. I don't tell the massage therapists I hire that I worked as a massage therapist too until during or after the session. I contacted this one guy for a massage who asked for a picture. I told him no and that I would be passing on him.. I found it unprofessional I view massage as part of the medical community and found it insulting..

I have occasionally sent a face pic to someone without having been asked for one. I've also had various escorts ask for a pic.

 

I can understand why an escort might want a pic but I still find the request for one to be a bad sign. If an escort asks for a pic and I think that they are really new at the game, I'll just send a pic. Otherwise, it would tend to move me toward the idea of looking for someone else.

In advance of extended appointments (overnight, multiple days, etc) with a new guy, I usually send a photo, face and/or body shot, voluntarily or at the escort's request after we have struck up a significant dialogue and plans are in motion to meet. Considering the investment of time and money, I want the added assurance that he has no issues meeting me and both having a good time. For short appointments, I usually don't bother. Both guys ought to be able to fake it for an hour or two.

 

Besides, I don't care if an escort sees my pic; I aint too bad lookin.......yet. Sadly, no one will confuse me with a 30 yo anymore. Gotta love the aging process.........

I have occasionally received unsolicited pics from clients, but have not and would never request one. Nor would I ever turn a client away because of his personal appearance. I only screen for guys who seem to have a bad attitude or expectations which I do not feel confident I can fulfill. If the client arrives clean and friendly, he's in, as I can interact with guys of all shapes, sizes, ages and colours.

 

However, I do know of some escorts who insist on a photo or webcam chat with all clients before meeting. If these guys can only interact with clients with certain physical attributes, then I think they are right to do so. But they should recognize it as a limitation, possibly worthy of mention in their ads.

In general, I think things work out best when both parties remember that they are talking to a real-live human being who deserves real respect, at least until they demonstrate otherwise. Treating the escort/client with the same respect you'd show a friend or family member can go a long way toward making things easier and better all around.

You run your own business and can make whatever rules you like. I suspect asking for a picture would turn away quite a few customers, but that's your prerogative.

 

Personally, I inevitably find customers more attractive in person where we can build a rapport and feed off each other's energy. If he sends a pic I'll look at it (just in case he's trying to convey a particular fetish or give me heads up of some physical handicap or whatnot) but my preference would be to be pleasantly surprised when he shows up at my door.

Another thing too about pics, is unless they are sending a professionally done shot, its probably going to make them look worse than they actually are. Most of our professional pics are edited and taken in a way that it makes us resemble the real us as good as possible.

 

Contrary to belief, a well done photo actually makes the person look similar to real life, not necessarily better. A webcam or camera phone is just going to make you look like shit. It wont do the client any justice...

IMHO, I wouldn't ask for a picture because part of the fun for me is the mystery of what is on the other side of the door. That said, I have had potential clients offer up their picture without my asking in which I happily accept but again, I don't make it a practice to ask for one myself. If I was the client and a potential escort asked me for my picture in advance, it raises the question of whether the escort accepts or denies appointments based on looks even though that very well may not be the reason as to why the picture is being requested. Also, asking for pictures upfront for any reason in most cases can and will be viewed by most clients as a negative and will most likely cost the escort clients because it does go against the rule of discretion. But, to each their own and we all have the right to operate our business as we see fit.

 

On the flip side, I no longer send out additional photos of myself because I have plenty posted in different poses that pretty much cover all if not most angles which in my mind give quite a good view of me and what I will look like in the flesh.

 

But, that's just me. And like I always say, "What do I know?"

I've been hiring guys for several years now and have never once had an escort ask for my photo prior to our appointment. It would throw me a curve-ball if one did so and I probably wouldn't follow-through with confirming an appointment with the escort.

The answer is "no". As previously mentioned in this thread, doing so voluntarily without being asked to do so is perfectly acceptable. Fair is fair but clients are not being auditioned other than being "human" and having the wherewithall to complete the deal.
