I have watched lots of movies, but still can not forget Mel Gibson in "Braveheart".

Watch also the movie "How to lose friends and alternative people", stomach hurt from laughing.

Most memorable line in a movie

The least expected and funniest line I ever saw in a movie was when Bette Midler proclaimed "I've been kindapped by K-Mart"; I think the title of the flick was "Ruthless People".

My favorite movie of all time is

Ben-hur. The chariot race scene in the movie is just amazing. It seems so real than computer graphics I see these days.

Fellini's Satyricon

I first saw this in college, and was entranced, not least by the handsome young men who were infatuated with each other, interspersed among the various Petronius stories. Since I was in the closet at the time, this had a deep impact for which I was unprepared. I actually sat through two consecutive screenings at the college cinema, I was so stunned. (Years later, I actually had a student, an elderly Hungarian woman who was a second-career student, who had a bit part in the film, an interesting coincidence...) I've since seen it a few more times and it always exerts this chill on me. I highly recommend it. Fellini was a genius, and those handsome young men are as enticing as ever.

Runner-up - Visconti's Death in Venice, another movie I first saw in college that had a big, big impact because of its intense theme of homoerotic desire.

My grandmother took me to see "The Sound of Music" when I was six and I have never forgotten the experience. I love the movie to this day. But, the most powerful movie I have ever seen is "Sophie's Choice". I was emotionally devastated by that movie and have compared all other dramas that I have seen to that. Nothing has even come close.

Happiness (please don't confuse with The Pursuit of Happyness) and Mysterious Skin. Neither is what you would call a "date movie".

Just a touch gay.....

I really had to think about this one for a while. It's hard to boil it down to one. Nonetheless, the winner is.......Moulin Rouge. Every time I watch it I still see something new, and the songs just grab me and keep me there. Lush visuals, a stunning Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor is so hot I get 2nd degree burns, and production numbers that provide enough ideas for Halloween costumes for 2 lifetimes. Check out the finale here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxAYIraQdvg

Strong contenders:

Now, Voyageur (1942): Bette Davis, Paul Henreid "Oh Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars"

Sunset Blvd. (1950): Gloria Swanson, William Holden " I AM big. It's the pictures that got small"

Wait Until Dark (1967): Audry Hepburn, Alan Arkin Good honest terror.

On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) (la Streisand at her wacky best)

Foul Play (1978): Romantic, comedy, thriller with Goldie Hawn, Chevy Chase, Dudley Moore.

Crimes of the Heart (1986): Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange, Sissy Spacek,

Sleepless in Seattle (1993): Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, and one of the most spectacular soundtracks.

Lion King (1994): A timely reminder of the circle of life.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994): Hugo Weaving, Terence Stamp, and Guy Pearce. Bet you can't watch without feeling good by end of the movie.

Chicago (2002): Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, John C. Reilly, Christine Baranski Just tons of fun.

I know. Gay! Gay!! GAY!!!;)

TB when Meryl as Sophie is forced to make her choice, I could not breath. The sheer desparation and the total devastation that came with being forced into her decision. I avoid mentioning the decision because if you have not seen this movie, you must go out and rent it as soon as possible. This is Meryl at her best and with material that measures up to her incredible, indelible performance.
