Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure in Own Home Convicted, Appeals

http://towleroad.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c730253ef01287670de32970c-800wi

Back in October I posted about, Erick Williamson, who was arrested after a woman and a child saw him nude in his kitchen making coffee early in the morning.

He was found guilty on Friday, but not fined or sent to jail:

"Erick Williamson, 29, continued to believe that he had done nothing wrong and that he did not purposely expose himself to two women and a 7-year-old boy who walked past his house the morning of Oct. 19. He immediately appealed his conviction. A seven-person jury in misdemeanor appeals court will rule on the propriety of Williamson's domestic nudity in February. 'That's outrageous,' he said after the verdict. 'It's unbelievable." He said publicity from the arrest had cost him a job as a commercial diver. 'I'm the victim,' he said. Testimony in the hour-long trial before Fairfax General District Court Judge Ian M. O'Flaherty revealed that two separate incidents of alleged exposure had occurred over a two-hour period. Williamson denied standing naked in his doorway or front window and said he had no intent to expose himself to anyone. But O'Flaherty wasn't buying it and likened Williamson to bank robber John Dillinger, who also 'thought he was doing nothing wrong when he walked into banks and shot them up.'"

John Dillinger?

To be honest no one will know for real if he wasn't looking for more - but I live in Fairfax County and like hanging around nude during all parts of the day... just hope that if my patio blinds are a bit open - that I don't get charged as I am closing them with someone passing by....

To be honest I have flirted with some guys that pass by my trail behind my condo here in Reston... <blush> as sat out out patio....

This Hunk could definitely walk around NUDE all day long in my place!

I'm sure he'd also fulfill some Wet Suit Fantasies around here! :D

oh my

You live in Fairfax County? That's where I grew up. Anyways, I hope the witnesses are not lying. Some people like to exaggerate. To make it worse, some people like to corroborate a false accusation, even though they haven't actually witnessed anything. My neighbor did that once. He seemed perfectly normal but he reported something he didn't witness to back up an accusation by another neighbor. I stayed away from him after that. Some people are sick mentally. They seem normal but they do so much harm to our society. I guess bearing false witness back in the old days was so common it needed to be written down.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

The whole country is so fucked up over nudity in the first place. I have no idea what actually happened in this case, but the way we are making kids so afraid of seeing genitals is absurd. Whole generations are even uncomfortable being naked in a locker room.

This reminds me that there's a college student where I teach who's shy and awkward and seems uncomfortable in his body (as so many late-adolescents do). One of his teachers told me with great surprise that the student and his family are naturists or whatever you call people who hang out with no clothes on. She thought he'd seem more comfortable in his own skin than he does.

This is scary ... Often, after showering, I have gone to the kitchen to put the coffee on, so that it will drip while I dress. And the blinds in the kitchen are often open..... YIKES

Once when I lived in an apartment, we had a side window that we rarely looked out of, as it faced a neighboring building. But one day I opened the shutters, only to see my neighbor, naked on his bed, masturbating. He hadn't bothered to close his blinds, so guilty, right?

Or how about the time I was walking the dog on a lonely cul de sac. I saw a van parked and then noticed movement inside. As I approached, I could see that the side door had been slid open. There was a very handsome guy there, stark naked, with a huge hardon. He begged me to fuck him...I kid you not. But, he seemed high as a kite, and well, I did have the dog to take care of. Besides, it was only 8 in the morning! I was half awake. But I should have called the cops, right?

well

Unlike women, men get more attractive as they get older. If people were after you when you were young than I bet Lucky is much hotter now. :) I can't wait to meet Lucky in person. ;)

Not guilty

He won his appeal. Turns out the distances involved were much greater than was alleged by the woman who first complaines. Also, apparently a very bad job of investigation by the police. Most unfortunate is that he had to spend a lot of money defending himself. The Washington Post had a fairly lengthy and detailed report on the appeal and the result of not guilty and the reasons for it.

the naked chef

The late gourmand James Beard installed a shower in the back garden of his Greenwich Village townhouse. Neighbors complained when they saw a full view of Mr. Beard taking his daily splash. Beard replied they didn't have to watch. Since he was rather corpulent, I don't think I would have watched.

There is so much nudity on full view in Manhattan's apartments. People think they don't know whose watching -- or maybe they're excited because someone is watching - - so they think nothing of drying off in front of the window. And more. You won't live in a place long before you find people (men on women, men on men, women on women -- the latter occasionally) who like to fuck in full view of the neighborhood, often with the lights on. If two people are going at it in daylight on a bed right at the window, I'm not a voyeur if I watch. They're exhibitionists. Sales of binoculars and telescopes are very high in Manhattan.

Uhm...I think that the 2 things go exactly together. They are exhibitionists, you are a voyeur.

I don't get it

Can't these people who don't want to look at their naked neighbors simply close their curtains? Or, god forbid, go and tell that person directly in a mature, adult-like fashion that their naked activities are on full display for the neighbors, kids, guests, etc. and ask that they close their drapes? When did we get to point where every minor transgression needs a third party arbitrator? Why the hell do people have to act like third graders and run to the principal every time they see something they don't like?

I have a neighbor whose bedroom window is right across from mine. There was a large (I'd reckon 300+ pound) man who used to live there that would lay naked on his bed, rest his laptop on his belly, and jerk off watching porn. While I had a couple of friends who were oddly fascinated by this and could watch all night, I found it rather revolting and just shut my curtains. Of course, then the hot 20 something guy moves in and keeps his curtains shut all the time. Bastard.

Now that said, I may have to call the cops soon because - of a far more serious nature - there is a straight couple across the alley that leaves their windows open when they have sex - so I get audio and visual. Now, what these heteros do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business (privacy being the key word here). But when they openly start to push their sick, perverted, and twisted agenda on others in an effort to convert us to their sacrilegious ways, something needs to be done!

Fuck those fucking nosy prudes!

Nosy people never know which direction to look. They can't miss a thing. Why live in a community where neighbors think it's OK to look into their neighbors windows and complain about what they see? But, then again, I view living in a state like Virginia as hell. Why on earth would any homeowner, who lives amongst the fucked-up conservatives, want to invite scrutiny and harassment by standing in an open window or doorway stark naked. If you ask me, they're all nuts.

Thank god I live in NYC. No drapes and nobody cares what you look like in your window. I've seen a man lick pussy on a neighboring rooftop. I thought it was hot. When my house is empty and an escort visits, it's nakedness and sucking and fucking on view for all to see. Sometimes, we take it outside to the terrace. Never think twice about it. Being naked in your home is a precious and priceless joy. I couldn't live anywhere where that joy could get trampled on by some nosy bitch who hates the sight of flapping cock.

I live in a highrise condo and have a very large terrace type balcony and whever my friends are over for a few drinks at in the evening, one it is dark, out come their binoculars (which they had in their pockets) and their search is on for action. And since I am downtown, there seems to be no lack of action. I always worry they will get me in some kind of trouble! So, in addition to slapping the label voyeurs on us, we are forty somethings who are still adolescents lol
