I bet millions of Japanese are cheering for Matsui right now. If we could just get baseball to catch on in Europe, it could rival basketball as a true world sport.

Edit: 4 to 1. So how much has Matsui added to his value in contract negotiations this winter?

Note to announcers:

The phrase "nobody breaks as many bats as (insert name)" stops having meaning when applied to 3-4 different pitchers in the same series.

No DH is the National League owners' choice. It does have an up side. National League pitchers hit batters at about half the rate of American League pitchers. Ever wonder why?

I'll have to wait for next year to see if my new TV works with baseball.

Of course, as a Cubs fan I'm used to waiting for next year. ;)

Well Lucky, greatness, whipped guy, deej, charlie, PK, Hotwithabody, Cooper, Duchess, KMEM, it's been a fun way to celebrate the World Series. See ya next year, same time, same place. Who knows maybe deej's Cubbies and their new out Lesbian owner will be celebrating. Wouldn't that be a hoot! :)

I think it is the other way around. DH is the AL owner's choice. Some say it isn't "real" baseball when there is a DH, whoever "some" happen to be.

It could be that there are those among that "some" that say real players don't use helmets or even gloves, but that would put MLB two centuries behind where they are now. :)

However, it is interesting to note that the MVP is the DH for the NYY, a player who only routinely appeared in 3 games. His contribution was crucial. Others were certainly on the short list.

Best regards,

KMEM

Hideki appeared in 4 games as he hit a pinch hit home run in Philadelphia.

The point was about MVP going to DH. DH only played in the AL park.
