I hope this does not mean that your participation in this board will be reduced. I would also hope Rian's participation does not drop either. I as a client, have learned a significant amount of information about this business through discourse between paid gentlemen and clients. If this board were all clients, it would not be nearly as interesting and I personally have hired several gentlemen from learing who they are through there participation in this forum. I already have had one gentleman tell me he is going to reduce his participation in this forum due to disagreeable people and I find that very sad. That is not the intent of most of us on this board.

 

If I have one thought to pass on it would be, should you find someone's post on a thread extremely disagreeable from your own or you receive a very reprehensible response from someone, give it 24 hours before responding and collect your thoughts and try to write a coherent response that sticks to the points rather than the personality of the person who is making them. I would even consider making them in a private response rather than public. I would only respond once and do not belabor the subject. If the other poster is egging you on than I would definitely take it off the board and make it a private session.

IMO you have nothing to apologise for. While the "race issue" could be argued by some as a bit dicey, everything else you said was spot on.

 

But I'm not trying to resurrect the whole argument, just wanted to let you know you're OK in my books.

I think an apology to the board was nice but from me it doesn't win a pass. Not that my pass is something of value, but I do think you went too far and for me the only way to undo that would be apologize to the person directly insulted. He may not accept that but if he doesn't, then that is on him.

That's correct, but it does make you stupid. You might also re-read what I posted as I did not say Devon was a racist, but his "ebonix translator" was indeed a racist comment. Once Devon resorted to something so offensive and stupid, he completely lost the arguement. He chose the low road rather than the high road.

If you like Daddy's Queenix then you are entirely hypocritical for not also applauding my Ebonix (which was far more authentically translated than the maligned "gay language" generated by the Queenix translator).

Whether you apologize to Rian is your personnal matter and I don't think anyone can ask you to do that. Context is everything, my friend. Daddy's Queenix translator was done in mockery of yours. He was trying to lighten the mood. A bunch of queens making fun of each other is much different from a white man lashing out in anger at a black man with "ebonix". There was no reason to go, but inside of trying to continue with the SUBSTANCE of the issue, you chose to lash out in a racial manner. Once you did that, you automatically lost the arguement.
