This question has been asked several times before, and answered in detail by myself and others.

Essentially, the area where you want to stay is Recoleta.

May I suggest you use the Search function (on the upper right-hand side) and check the Archive for the "Escorts South of the USA" section for further details.

Boomer, when I last went to Argentina, I used the service called Argentina con noi- Argentina with us. They were excellent. I loved the hotel in the Recoleta which they found for us, and they also arranged our trip to Iguazu Falls. They can be found at argentinaconnoi.com.

I hadn't realised you planned on going now (in their Winter).

I spoke to Argentine friends in Buenos Aires a couple of days ago. The 'swine flu' outbreak has been bad. Temperatures have also been unusually low (and note that many apartments lack adequate heating).

Unless you are determined to go now, I would suggest you consider a trip in the Summer when the city is delightful with long sunny days and warm nights.

I plan on going in December. My concern is that even though the worse of it may be over in Argentina, it could be in full force in North America. Flying in a plane is like a germ incubator. I've also heard that prices in Argentina have substantially increased and that crime has gotten worse. Sometimes too much information is just too much information.

Yes, I wrote a detailed note about the change in prices and the crime situation after my last visit this year. I put the note in the 'South of the Border' thread.

I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST that you go to http://www.gaytravelargentina.com and read all of the relevant information there. You might wish to stay in a studio apartment in Recoleta which is mentioned at the site. (I cannot correctly spell the name of the facility, thus I want attempt to do so.).

Three years ago I stayed at the CC Apartmento Hotel in a two bedroom for ten days and loved the 24/7 monitored venue as well as the other amenities. Apparently the current managers have been deemed helpful as well as personable.

This lodging is very centrally located, too, which would enable you to walk to many places as well as take the inexpensive taxis that prevail.

My friend and I would eat all of our meals in nearby restaurants as well as take taxis to special ones!

If my March/April 2010 trip materializes-- he and I plan to stay in Recoleta in this facility in separate studios. I'm truly looking forward to returning to the "Paris of the South."

Any suggestions for a good place to stay in the heart of Buenos Aires? I looked into Legado Mitico, and though I like the rooms it seems a bit pricey.

Have you made your decision as to where you desire to stay? If you have not, two sites that I would recommend are below.

http://www.stayinbuenosaires.com and http://buenosaires.queercity.info/guide.htm
