A few years ago, I spent a few months as a regular viewer. But I became increasingly alarmed about the age of some of the teens that were showing. Where I live, if we download any sex act, alone or with others, by someone under 18 it is child porn and it is a crime. If you join in the social networking chat that accompanies it, you are guilty of a greater crime. What I worried about is that even if that is not what you are looking for, the pages are nonethe less downloaded to your hard drive. Anyhow, that is what scared me away. What was the fiasco? Would love to hear your reactions to my thinking, but I decided to err on the side of caution here. Was I wrong? There were many scenes which were very good.

Now I am confused. I signed up for the free version, but apparently that only allows me to watch for about 5 minutes before being shut off for the day.

 

Does my computer really download the videos I watch? That seems odd to me. I share the concern about the age of the lubetube guys. Some are not looking to be 18. The site makes a big pretense about being for over 18 only...

Perhaps you've seen the message Buffering... while watching videos? That's geek secret decoder ring speak for "copying crap to your computer so it can be played".

 

Technology does exist for real-time audio-video but the bandwidth needed is hellish expensive so you won't likely find it on a free site, and even that will leave behind traces in your computer's temp files.

 

On streaming videos, there may not be very much data on your disc at a time because the stream is deleted as soon as it is played but I wouldn't count on THAT if you're afraid of getting caught doing something you shouldn't be doing. A good computer forensics expert can see deleted stuff just fine.

Yeah, but what scared me, Deej, is there are reports almost weekly about people in court over possession of child porn and they always have forensic experts describing all the videos they found - and as soon as I saw one guy released on bail, and one condition was avoid social networking sites, as well as all sorts of other things, I thought - it just isn't worth it. So I signed up for a site like badpuppy that has over 18 on record etc. on each video etc. I am probably being a real ninny about this, but it is so serious, I chose to avoid it altogether, even though there was interesting stuff. A quick glance at that lubetube site, and some of the images scared me off.

The thing is, you only really need to worry if there's some reason someone will likely be *looking* for child porn on your computer. Or anything else, for that matter.

 

But it's just like hiring escorts. The surest way not to get caught is not to do it at all.

They passed a law here not long ago that requires any technician or even our seervice provider to report if they see any child porn while repairing your computer or somehow seervicing it. The fines are huge if they don't. That is what scared me - and I am the first to admit it - I know I am way over-reacting, but as I said, for me, it just ain't worth it. So guys, take what I say with a grain of salt.

Deej, and I mean this seriously, not all of us are as adept and smart as you are when it comes to computers -oh yeah, and many guys have been caught because they brought their computer in for repairs. Laugh at me if you will, but I tend to trade in my computers way before their time, like each two years, just to avoid the repair shops - and I have never even been remotely interested in child porn.

I think sites like this one and Xtube.com, gaytube, etc do not do much in the way of screening what their users post. However if a questionable video is reported to them they will take it down. I also think that some guys look younger than they really are while there are also a number who look older than they really are. But I think people often see "underage" where it doesn't really exist. It's not like there are 12 year olds being posted on any of these sites.

I really don't think Deej was laughing at you...seemed like to me he was considering your concerns seriously and offering wise, prudent advice. Since the website makes you nervous for legitimate reasons, I think you are wise to move-on to other "pay" sites that seem to monitor/verify the age of the guys in their content. I like this site, but underage boys or even early 20's twinks do not interest me in the least. I just self-select and click the links to the videos where it appears that hot, more mature men (say 25+) are featured. I don't believe I've ever clicked on a video and thought that the guys appeared to be under 20 y/o. Have you checked out RandyBlue.com and SeanCody.com? You would probably like these sites and feel more secure watching them without worrying about underage actors.

I have become skilled at surfing through CAM4 rapidly, trying to find just the right guy to watch. In one camera someone asked the kid how old he was, the camera immediately went off line. But, for the record, I don't think any really young guys are there. If some of these guys are not 18, they sure are skilled at sex before a camera.

I have been under the impression that the entire page goes on the hard drive, and so, when there is an under 18 year-old, even though we don't click on it, it goes on our hard drive. Am I wrong?

I'm way out of me league here, but when you read reports on guys busted for kiddie porn their computers are usually full of the stuff, and they typically belong to sites and on-line communites that deal specifically with underage porn. I can't imagine that an individual would get into trouble stumbling on a site with what appears to be underage models and then moved on. I would think that the real liability is with the Admin. or owner of the website. With that being said, it's always better to error on the side of caution, particularly in this area. The guy in the video link posted above did look very young, but at 18, shaved and twinky, it's easy to look 14 or 15.

When you do click on something, there is a brief flash that I occasionally get to see about the video being loaded. Since these aren't supposed to be videos, I don't know exactly what that means but, I think the page itself does not get loaded- you have to click on something. CAM4 has 20,000 viewers at a time, so it would be hard to go after every guy who stumbled upon the wrong page.
