American Idol SEASON 8 Finalists

This season needs Adam as long as they can keep him. He is without a doubt the best performer ever on this show.

 

I hope they plan on doing two songs this week. We only received 10 minutes of singing to determine the final 4 and that was wrong. I could live without all the rest of the crap they keep filling in and who wants interviews with each contestant before singing. The same with the mentor crap, I mean I have yet to hear a mentor come out and this is going to be a disaster, although Andrew Lloyd Webber almost said that about both Brooke and Castro. It is always a great choice can’t wait to hear how they do their interpretation, blah, and blah, blah. The mentor is always there to plug a new album or movie or both like Foxx did.

 

That said this is a singing competition, Taylor Hicks aside, one out of 7 is not bad and he did sound and look pretty decent two nights ago, just looks old. Adam on a record will not transcend the same as in person not even 75% unless he becomes a lead singer for a group which would be a great option for him. One reviewer called him a one-trick pony; he is a Las Vegas act and will definitely be the star on the Idol tour. But again this is for a record deal and Adam is not the best for this. I believe Kris and Danny are best suited for the title of American Idol and have the best marketability.

 

I think everyone would agree given the choice Simon Fuller would have taken Elliot or Chris over Taylor Hicks any day of the week to win the competition. But America does the voting, so the best choice is either Danny or Kris in the final against Adam and Danny or Kris winning, Adam gets all the publicity and can sign a deal to do his type of records and concerts.

If Adam had the least number of votes, how did Matt get eliminated? I'm confused.

 

Matt had the LEAST number of votes of the five - so he's off.

 

Adan had the least number of votes of the remaining four. (If you can believe what is basically an unprovable count)

I posted several weeks ago that seeing Adam on "American idol" was the same as watching Streisand in "I Can Get It For You Wholesale" on Broadway in the early 1960s. I have not changed my opinion.

 

Perhaps Adam's fan are not voting for him, because they think he's sure to win.

 

Whatever happens, he's going to be a major star.

Married or not, Kris Allen has become the heartthrob of many pre-teen and teenage girls. He needs their votes to stay in this competition but will it be enough to overcome front runner Adam Lambert.

I might be wrong, but I think Seacrest said, after announcing that the bottom three were Chris, Adam and Matt, that he would first announce the name of someone, who was not going home, not the name of the person with the third largest number of votes. If so, Adam could have been #3, not #4. It is fun to parse the words!

 

Matt's fans, if they continue to vote, will migrate to? Maybe Chris?

 

Adam in his interchanges with Seacrest and others has been pretty saavy. But, I would not have answered the question about which of the groups of two he should join like he did. You could see his discomfort. He got it wrong. If he had been faster on his feet he could have said, Soloman-like and with a laugh, "divide me in two and give half to each!"

I was thinking a couple of weeks ago that Adam could very well have a Freddy Mercury ala Queen kind of career. I would love to see Adam's take on Bohemian Rhapsody. It would seem he definitely has the pipes and theatrical stage presence to pull it off in spades.

 

Of course, I ain't no Clive Davis, so it's just my mid western, tin ear offering its opinion...

Well this season was different because David A. and Melinda from previous two seasons sat down in the middle when it was the final 7, not final 5. Last year I believe for final 5 Brooke and Seyesha were off stage when the other three got the new they were safe. The other item that was completely different from any other season is a bottom 3 for the final 5, along with only one song each. So this season the format has changed and I personally do not think for the better. Now in Season 5 Taylor walked over to the correct side and he made a choice. So not really an old gag, because they put a new twist on it by having the fifth person in the bottom 3 not part of top 3.

Last night, Adam was the first to perform and perform he did. Singing Led Zeppelin's, "Whole Lotta Love", he blew the competition away... Allison sounded good singing "Crybaby", but Kris and Danny were not that good in the Rock-n-Roll category... Someone will get voted off tonight, it's a tough call between Allison, Kris, or Danny.

Some talk has been heard, well, by me, that many gays don't care if Adam wins. That may be true, but I did vote for him a couple of times because I think he is really good, and it bothers me that people are voting against him just because they think he is gay. On the other hand, I really like Allison Irehata, and would love to see her be in the finals with her "big brother, kinda" Adam. All that eye makeup on Adam turns me off, but I am not voting to have sex with him, just to see him win a contest.

As for who's getting voted off, right now the odds-makers are picking Kris, however, odds-makers don't understand how and why teenagers vote.

Of the four individuals left, I hope Kris does not get the boot this evening. He's soooooo cute and desirous. ...wonderful "eye candy" who has a smile that is so infectious. Unfortunately, someone has to go, but in his performances last evening-- he didn't get too many positives from the judges.

That was the dumbest performance. It belonged on one of the shows for dancers, not for singers.

I so agree. I liked her personality and her performances more than any of the others. And didn't you love the way she interacted with the audience when she did her final song?
