This week they are singing songs of Sinatra, Sammy Davis and Dean Martin. Think Allison is at a big disadvantage as a rocker. Her choices are going to be limited and she has to pick two songs. If she decides to turn it down she could do Strangers in the Night and make it interesting. Think Danny ought to do One for My Baby and one for the Road and would love to hear Adam's take on Candy Man.

All 5 finalists did an excellent job last night, however, one will be sent home. Listening to the judges, Simon feels it's going to be Allison. While Judge Randy wasn't impressed with Matt... This is AI's best top 5 ever.

Just discussing the top 5 and I was wondering how great last season would have been had Allison and Matt would have been part of the top 5 with David, David and Syesha. Allison and Matt may have made things very interesting last year.

 

I say this because they will be the bottom 2. For a top 5 this was the most disagreement I have seen by the judges. My order Danny, Adam, Kris, Allison, Matt. I really do like Allison but I really have no problems with an all male final 4. Office is all a bit older all in our 50's and it was unanimous Danny was the best last night, but what do you want from a bunch of mid-westerns.

 

I agree that it is the best top 5.

I am still predicting that Adam will take it. Although he is my favorite and I think the one with the most talent, I will be OK with any of them winning as long as it is not Danny. Don't know why but I just can't stand him.

I wont say anything about the results. I think Danny is a much better singer than Taylor but Mr. Hicks looked good still dont get his music though. Now why didn't they use Natalie Cole as the mentor, she at least has a bit more connection to the era, through her dad.

She sounded pretty good. I had to shut off Jamie Foxx did not like the song.

Ok.. i am on west coast time so everyone should know by now.. Matt got eliminated tonite..That leaves Adam, Kris, Allison, and Danny.. Next week is Rock and Roll, which will obviously give the advantages to Adam and Allison.. I predict (hope) that after next week we will see Adam, Kris, and Allison left standing..

Surprise Surprise

 

Matt was the one I thought would get the boot. His rendition of My Funny Valentine - possibly my favorite song of all time - was somewhat lacking IMO.

 

I just about crapped myself when Adam was the one with the least number of votes. Just goes to show where the taste of middle America lies - remember Taylor Hicks?

 

And although I am no Hicks fan, I must admit that his weight loss has gone a long way to improving his looks - and his performance tonight I thought was quite professional. Still wouldn't buy his CD though.

I expected to see Matt go last night, but was surprised that Adam and Kris were in the bottom three with him. I'm still thinking Adam will win, but I think he has to knock everyone's socks off next week. I like an underdog so I'm predicting Danny is coming on strong on the outside.. photo finish?

So, do you think the results are on the up-and-up? I mean, we don’t exactly have sealed envelopes delivered by PWC officials, do we? Wouldn’t there be some temptation to “adjust” the results for some drama.

Kris, Danny and Adam Rock!

 

Adam has the superior vocal range and showmanship, but I believe Kris Allen and Danny Gokey are both more marketable in the mainstream industry. Of course, only time will tell. I would be please if any of these three young men win Idol. Of course, I would be delighted to hire them if they decide to begin escorting, too!
