RE: Mexico - Other Cities

Learn some Spanish in order to be able to make the most of the city's resources and increase your luck in getting what you want while you're in town. You'll be glad you did!

SAUNAS: There are three saunas that I know of that have men working in them. The biggest and brightest is "BANOS SENORIAL" (tels.: 5709-4999 Turco; 5709-5659, Vapor). It is located on Avenida Isabel la Catolica in downtown Mexico City, about a block from the metro station of the same name. The place has a large lighted blue and white sign so it is hard to miss when you're on the street. When you enter you will see on the right a barbershop and on the left a small snack bar. In the center of the entrance is the reception where you pay for the section you want as they have different entrance prices (all very resonable). On the ground floor there are private showers (Regaderas). Upstairs to both the right and left are different sections of the baths. One is general steam, where I have never gone so I know nothing about it. The other two upstairs options are Turco Individual and Vapor Individual. Both of these sections, as well as the private showers on the first floor, have men working. The guys are all very ethnic Mexican-looking--as you'd expect (lots of copper-colored and some of them pretty dark) so if you like that sort of thing (I do) you will be very happy. Some of the guys are very attractive. Lots depends on the day of the week and time of day as far as who's working goes. There is turnover, of course, but some of the staff have been there steadily for years. The price is between 300 and 400 pesos (more or less USD$30-$40). The other centrally located sauna is BANOS SAN JUAN (tel.: 5510-4602) not far from the metro stop called Salto del Agua. San Juan also has a large sign on the street that is hard to miss. There is a general section upstairs, but the private saunas with working men are on the first floor. The third sauna I know about is called BANOS MINAS (tel.: 5512-9910). This one is located on Avenida Minas not far from the Hildago metro stop. Avenida Minas is a small neighborhood side street just off the Paseo de la Reforma. This is the least expensive of the three options and consistently my favorite because of the guys there. I was in all three places just recently (April, 2003) and still find Minas the best. The usual rate there is 300 pesos.

ALAMEDA: This is a fairly large park in downtown Mexico City right next to the Palacio de Bellas Artes. On the west side of the park (the side where the Hildago metro stop is) there are often men working through the morning till late evening. Caution is required here, of course, especially after dark. That said, I have met some absolutely fabulous guys working the park. You can go to the Minas baths or to a cheap hotel around the Alameda.

AVENIDA HAMBURO and PASEO DE LA REFORMA: After dark there are men working these streets in the Zona Rosa and around the famous monument of the Angel of Independence. You walk on Hamburgo past the United Airlines ticket office. (There is road repair on Reforma so the trade has disappeared there temporarily). Again, caution is required, but, like with the Alameda, I have met some absolutely fabulous guys working these streets. Lots of cruising goes on from cars, but I have always walked this area. I think it is perfectly safe even till well after midnight.

ESCORTS AGENCIES and INDEPENDENT ESCORTS:It has been a long while since I have used these services. They advertize (men & women, agencies & individuals) in a publication called Tiempo Libre under "Masajes." Even though it has been a long time since I used them, I found them almost always reliable and courteous.

I have been going to Mexico City for about ten years now and have always had excellent experiences with Mexican men who, like Latins generally, are warm, friendly, open, and very sweet. A little respect and affection go a long way in Latin cultures, so always be respectful and affectionate and you will leave Mexico a very happy visitor.

OUTSIDE MEXICO CITY: MORELIA: the city of Morelia (three hours W of Mexico City) will have some men working in the Plaza de Armas next to the Cathedral downtown at night. Caution is urged, of course, but again., you can meet some wonderrful guys here. I have! OAXACA: There are guys working the central square after dark. Again, be cautious, but again, you can meet some wonderful guys here. TIJUANA: There is a plaza called Santa Cecilia just off First Ave. There are three gay bars in the plaza and there are working men there and there are guys working at the other end of town in front of the large Sanborns store (only at night here). Extreme caution is urged in Tijuana. The cops are very bad news and come down hard on working guys to shake them and their customers down. I had a bad experience there during the day. I was on my way to a hotel with a great looking guy who was arrested--cuffs and all by one mean-looking cop. The cop told me he'd take the guy to jail unless I paid him a bribe of $20: it was just that blatent. I paid him, of course. The young man and the cop were not working together as I thought at first. The young man was furious at the humiliation of being arrested and cuffed in the busy plaza and cried real hard about it when we went to another bar close by before ending up at the hotel. Again: EXTREME CAUTION is urged in TJ. I have not been there for over a year and have no plans to return anytime soon.

Mexico, however, is a WONDERFUL place and you can have a fabulous time there IF you are careful and speak some Spanish. I cannot stress enough the importance of having some Spanish. It will make your experience there so much more enjoyable. "Buena suerte en Mexico el lindo!!"

RE: Mexico - Other Cities

This is excellent information. But in the interest of bibliographic organization, is it possible to split this posting and put the Mexico City information in the proper thread? Someone looking for just this type of info might not think to look in "Other Cities." (Or just copy the post and place it in a Mexico City section.

If there's a way to split this, I haven't figured it out yet! However, there are only two choices for Mexico: Beach Resorts and Other Cities. Since Mexico City isn't a beach resort it must be an "Other City." If this thread gets very long, I'll check with the more technically proficient moderators to see how to move this into a new topic. OK?
