Hours: 3PM to 3AM, 7 days/week. Ladies' nights 4 days/week, Monday-Thursday, usually starts after 9PM. Refreshments: Full bar, no food. Admission: No cover, no minimum, but you are expected to buy at least one drink. You can nurse it as long as you like. No coat check. Facilities: Adonis is the smallest of the Montreal strip bars, and has the smallest stage area. In addition, unlike the other bars, there is no backstage area from which the dancers can come out. They come from the area of the backroom and the restrooms, down a few steps and through part of the audience, and enter the stage from the audience area. The backroom area is rather small and less private than at Stock or Campus. Shows: More or less continuous dancing until about 2:30AM. In the afternoon when there aren't many patrons songs with dancers may alternate with dancerless songs. Dancers do a first number (also "fast dance") with clothes, taking off some but not all, and a second number (also "slow dance"), eventually showing everything. Dancers: There are two shifts, 3PM-9PM ("afternoon") and 9PM-3AM ("evening"). Adonis has the broadest range of body types among the dancers, everything from twinks to beefy. There is usually a good complement of them. Private Dances: Private dances ("contact dances") are available in the backroom area at $10/song (Canadian). "Contact" officially means that you can touch the dancers anywhere except in the genital area or the butt. Some of the dancers may be available for off-premises private shows after they finish their shifts. After a private dance in the back is a good time to ask. Tipping: On-stage tipping is usually not done in Montreal. The dancers will not refuse it, but it might be better to express your appreciation after they have come off stage and are working the room, or after a private dance in the back. Accessibility: Adonis is on the ground floor and is generally accessible; the actual bar area is raised by the equivalent of about 1 or 2 steps above the steet level, but access is by a ramp rather than steps. However, access to the backroom area and the restrooms requires going up 3 or 4 steps. Other Facilities: Adonis has an ATM (a private one, not from a bank) and video games/lottery on premises. I forgot that there *is* a cover ($3) at Adonis on Ladies' nights (M-Th), after 9 or after 11 (I don't remember which). I guess you can see which nights I don't usually go to Adonis... Women are allowed Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Only because Stock offers a Ladies Night on Wednesdays, and Campus offers a Ladies Night on Sundays... ADMISSION:There is a cover charge of $3, coatcheck (not mandatory) of $1.50 FACILITIES: The club was remodeled. There is now a small coatcheck room at the entrance. The stage area now has a small mirrored backstage. DJ booth is now in front of the stage. Old DJ booth and private booths have been removed to make space for a secondary bar and to put the Video Lottery machines. Upstairs is now open to the public, it has the private booths and a terrace to smoke. SHOWS: Dancers have "fast" songs followed by a "slow" song. DANCERS: There is another completely different set of dancers. Muscular, average age late 20s. One guy over 40, youngest guy is 22. In their roster of 10 dancers there are 5 black dancers.
