It will be sorely missed. Guess I shall risk another trip to New Orleans later this year. At least Chicago still has Lucky Horseshoe, even though the guys are not as muscled and bulked as the Madrigals' guys were.

Madrigals seemed to be getting harrassed a great bit by the Chicago authorities and New Orleans is much more open even now after Katrina.

Why does every major city try to run the Male go-go bars out of business, but you have female titty bars all over the place?

Oh, no! I don't think they're ready for that quite yet. ;-)

They do? I never noticed. :p

Seriously, while this is a great loss for Chicago it's a great win for New Orleans and they really need it. For the owner, I can only imagine the incentives NOLA is offering for businesses who move in now. It must be good for them.

All things considered, I'd rather see Mad's reopening in free-wheeling New Orleans than going the route of the DC clubs; to reopen at some unspecified time in the future at some as yet undetermined location. ;(

Unfortunate to hear...Madrigal's now joins the "Gaiety" in NYC as a little bit of History....

But the fact that the Guy's can do more in 2 Hours.... Financially "Workin It Privately" now at $250 an hour, it does make sense. Most don't want to be bothered with these gig's anymore. It's not worth their time!

So New Face's are far and in between! Except maybe in the "Sunshine" State, alot seem to be gravitating towards! :p :P :p

Damn-

Madrigal's was my favorite. It was real MEN... somewhat different than the Lucky Horseshoe (was that diplomatic enough?).

Lemme run this by you guys... last time I went for a "Private dance at Madrigal's I was brought upstairs, and the performer stripped then got up on a stool and bent over, presenting his "rosebud" to my face. I got the idea that I was supposed to do something. Was I supposed to do sojmething that might have proven that I wasn't a law enforcement officer? Should I have rimmed him?

I always imagined that that the strippers who performed at Man's Country on Friday and Saturday, were men who dashed over from Madrigal's between dances. Am I right?

And as long as we're lamenting wonder male strip clubs, let's have a moment of silence for Happy Tap. Happy Tap was in Windsor, Ontario (across the bridge from Detroit). It had lots of very hot, very hard, very nude strippers (Often students at the University of Windsor).

After 9/11 it became almost impossible to get across the bridge so the Detroiters stayed in MIchigan. Eventually, it became a titty bar. Damn.

Anyway, Mad's will be missed.

I have a hard time imagining that Florida will be very welcoming of gay businesses or escorts as long as Jeb baby is in power.

Wow, again Jony. When was this? A while ago? How much did the private cost and how long did it last? What did he look like? If he was short(er), with a Superman tattoo and a big butt, it very well could have been GQ! By your reaction, I am guessing you didn't rim him? What did he do with his bare ass in your face and no reaction from you?

Sorry for the 20 questions, I have just been very curious about GQ (if this was him) privates. Did he spread his cheeks or just bend over? I take it that was the first thing he did (after stripping down)?

Hey N2,

GQ rings some bells in my memory. It was 2004, and the evening, although fondly remembered, is now a bit blurry. The dancer was shorter (say 5'6"?) and didn't have to do much but bend over for me to be left wondering what I was to do. I did, in fact nothing. But I DO have these fond memories of the soon to be lost Madrigal's.

Farewell to Madrigals

Well I said my farewell to Madrigals Saturday night. Gaston and AJ were lots of fun and I will sorely miss the place. I travel to Chicago and Washington DC for business often, and now BOTH cities have forced 2 of the best remaining strip clubs in the USA to close.

Madrigals will have 8 dancers a night starting at 8pm this their last week for those that want to say good-bye.

I had some fun times and memories there (especially in the lap dance room) and in BoysTown in general and also at Cocktail Bar in Chicago. I guess this will be good excuse to visit New Orleans again and help with the gay tourist economy there.

RE: Farewell to Madrigals

To Juan and his staff, thanks for the memories. The word "lock down" took on a whole new meaning on Sunday afternoons... Hope some of the dancers will make a NYC pit stop on their way to New Orleans.

Sad to think that tommorrow is the last day of Madrigal's Club being open. I had some fun times there watching Ben Versace perform for the six trips I made to Chicago, several at Cocktail Bar on N. Halsted at Roscoe. During those trips to Chicago I got to appreciate the BoysTown area and the Andersonville are for being such a huge gay area. Also the museums and downtown and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in nearby Oak Park were fun to visit. Good memories.
