Escort ads - best places online to post?

I was just wondering what are some of the best places online for escorts to post their ads (either free or pay). I mean in terms of best exposure, best features, best sites that are easy to update, etc.

Some sites, once you place an ad it is like pulling teeth to make any changes.

 

I think this would be helpful not only for escorts but also for clients (best places for them to look).

 

I know most of them but who knows there might be a hidden gem out there that I've never heard of. . .

It seems like I get offers to list on new escort websites a few times a week. I have enough ads out there so I usually just delete these emails...but I recently got one from http://maleprime.com , checked it out & was blown :9 away. Beautifully designed & easy to navigate (unlike meetlocalmen.com, which I find to be annoying/confusing and overpriced, and guys4rent.com, which is slow to load, looks gaudy and makes the client pay to get the escort's contact info!). MalePrime also has excellent/friendly customer service. It's a pay site for escorts; free for clients. I hope it takes off.

 

I also like the look of http://joeyandcarlo.com and http://gayescorts.net. I'm not sure how popular those two sites are but I like their design & ease of navigation. Judging by the volume of emails I get from prospective clients, http://rentboy.com is probably still # 1 (after Hooboy).

http://www.americanmale.net is pretty good as far as free sites go. I'm also on http://www.escort4you.com but I don't seem to get much business from there. I'm also on guys4rent?, but I don't think I have gotten any business at all from it.

Funny you should mention that. I've helped 3 different "new" escorts through this with several sites recently.

 

rentboy.com wins, hands down, when it comes to ease of getting set up and making changes. They spend a LOT of money promoting the site and generating traffic. And from what the guys tell me, that's where they're getting all (not most, all) of their calls from.

 

I met the proprietors of rentboy.com at a convention in Vegas not long ago. They're serious about providing good service. Indeed, one of the rentboys in the room at the time asked if they could temporarily move his ad from NYC to Vegas while he was there. A few mouse clicks later and the deed was done.

 

guys4rent.com is now charging just to get the escort's contact information. I doubt they'll last very long under that scheme. escorts4you.com is a rudderless ship right now. There's a rumor I've heard that the former proprietor may be starting up a new site. Perhaps that's the one Rick mentioned?

 

meetlocalmen.com is pretty easy to deal with, but as Rick says the site is a little weird. Since *every* ad is a Flash animation, you'd better have the Flash player installed or you won't see anything. And once a guy is listed there, it appears to be for life. Just in my area, I counted a half-dozen or so escorts still listed who have been retired (or relocated) for a year or more.

No, http://www.maleprime.com is a totally new site created by a former escort, which I think is great because only an escort or a client would know what features are important in a site. The former webmaster of escorts4you (Dave Barton) sent me this email:

Sounds good...I hope it's true! IMHO, Escorts4You was always the best (not design-wise, but I got more emails from that ad than any other). :-) Other really good/reputable ones: http://www.JoeyandCarlo.com , http://www.americanmale.net , and http://www.executivemaleescorts.com. Bernard at http://www.rentboy.com is a great guy...always helpful and friendly (sometimes a rarity for webmasters!). One complaint I've heard from escorts re: meetlocalmen is that they automatically charge the escort's credit card each billing cycle, as opposed to rentboy, which sends a reminder email, asking if they want to renew.

Just thought I would add my two cents as well, since I have been going through the search myself.

 

Pretty much agree with what Rick has been saying, but I wanted to add something to the comments about Rentboy.com

 

The site does work for guys, I admit ... but I have heard less than glowing remarks about their customer service. The last user said they switched an escort's profile easily - but another escort told me that they charged him to list in other cities when he was travelling - no switching without the extra $50 a month.

 

Also, I am unsure how much money they spend on promotion of the site. The brag about how many magazines they are listed in ... but those aren't ads for Rentboy ... they are just the words "renboy.com" on some other escort's ad! The escort then gets a one page "website" on Rentboy in exchange for putting the web address in his print ad. It might be effective, but considering how much money the site makes, I think it is kinda tacky.

 

Maleprime.com seems cool though - not sure where it is headed, but they seem like they are off to a good start. And the guys behind the site seem really "hungry" - like they wanna help. I dunno - but right now I'm putting my money on them ... a few months from now I have a feeling the site is gonna be HOT.

That Rick has a great butt and good taste. http://www.hookonline.org/ is an interesting site to check out for escorts and they do list some resource links as well. Male Prime also wrote to me and I am awaiting the listing to be published to reserve judgment on their customer service. I receive solicitations almost daily, and many I ignore. The site looks good, it reminds me very much of the same marketing and design as m4m4sex and while being free for the clients is great, I have yet to find it personally necessary to pay to advertise (remember I'm a top and therefore I believe modesty is a false virtue.) American Male Escorts, Guys 4 Rent and Men 4 Rent are all free to list and I am on all three but American Male is the only from which I have received any clients. http://www.boyzusa.com/ is another site that provides a "free" window for posts and then charges the escorts and is free to the client as well. The escorts are also "hot" on it mostly and it loads quickly. I do not presently have an advertisement there myself but friends do. http://www.gaysexzone.com/escortzone/ is another free site that provides nudity to the client as well. They also seemed very good about updating information, prices, phone numbers, emails. It loads slowly is my one complaint and when I send new pictures to them, I will have a better idea about how they are with follow up but I do recommend it for escorts in smaller, less urban areas who want to save money on advertising.

 

I find having a review on this site to be one of the best "free advertisements" you can have and I note some escorts have recommended requesting a review from a client but I wouldn't even feel comfortable doing this with a frequent client. I would say at this time about ten to twenty percent of my new prospects come from Hoo Boy (your pay pal donation is forthcoming...) and I believe but do not know for certain that a good third of the on line queries I receive on America On Line are "sealed" by the offer to link them to my reviews.

 

I was highly annoyed that Meet Local Men solicited me without making it clear it for payment. After making two long distance phone calls to him, I finally heard from him 30 minutes after our "scheduled" appointment, when asking me within seconds for my credit card and I replied that I didn't know he was looking to charge and didn't want to pay, he merely abruptly hung up on me. Men 4 Rent is one of the most attractive, but the that a content provider (the escorts themselves) have to pay to view their own links is inappropriate and I have written to them about that without response.

 

Scott Stanton turned me onto http://www.endowedescorts.com/ and it has also provides clients and is a good marketing tool in general. They were also the most responsive and attentive to detail, which appealed to me immensely.

 

Finally, in spite of Hoo Boy's based in fact complaints about American On Line, I still find it provides a good half of my business. I may "nail" the client with a review from this site, or forwarding a link to endowed escorts, but I still get the most inquiries from AOL chat rooms. As I travel like I am in PS, I am going to start advertising in publications but I do not find it worth my while for me here in LA as that attracts too many people calling at too many hours. My auto response and email filters can deal with those issues on AOL.

 

If you can maintain and afford a good site, such as my friend Tom Southern or one with additional appeal such as Devon's, I think that is also a good marketing tool but you also need to make your own site itself known.

Franco, I only recommend that escorts make their primary address something other than AOL, so if AOL cancels them their customer database is not lost.

 

I do not recommend you cancel AOL. It is a back-up issue, that's all.

 

I am an AOL member and I enjoy many of their benefits. However, I would never think of using AOL as my primary point of contact. If AOL decides to cancel me, my customers would have no way of reaching me. You need an email address that you are certain will be stable. You have too much to lose.

 

But keep AOL. It's fun and the majority of the world is there, for now. :-)
