I will keep this short and sweet. Words can’t adequately express my gratitude for all of the public and private well wishes I received. Without sounding contrite I would like to sincerely say it means more to me than any of you will ever know. Though I have some minor medical things to deal with I now have to deal with life issues that are both overwhelming and challenging. I will be on the boards as much as I can in the near future. With the issues I have to deal with now I won’t be here as much as I like. Now, let’s put a period at the end of the VDN sentence :) and commiserate with the issue at hand … the Gaiety closing! Again … THANK YOU ALL!!!

 

Pictures people! Start posting (and requesting) pics of your fav G dancers. Below are some of the picture posting sites I use so you too can be a picture poster. These are the best sites I use so there are no special secrets I am hiding from you. Words can’t describe how upset I am about the G closing. I know some of you feel the same way. Let us post pics and remember what was. NYC is now Disney. Let us hope the Gaiety, or something like it, resurrects somewhere.

Welcome back!!! I'm so glad you're back in the saddle and posting again. You are one of my favorite people in the Message Center.

 

Good luck with your medical challenges. So far I've been fairly lucky but am sure this old body of mine will soon start falling apart. But, at least I've had a very enjoyable life so far.

 

Thanks for your posts and pictures. I look forward to them (especially since Les dropped out of sight).

Did you or anyone else see what was thrown out? I was told in email that a great deal of "things" were thrown away. AND that record collection .... I have seen first hand some of the vinyl in that booth. A pretty penny could and would be gained on E-Bay. Some vintage gold indeed! There are a few records signed by the artists.

I'm sooo glad to see you post again even for theraputic reasons. Stay well VDN!

 

The closing of the G has been very sad for me. I started going to the G 20+ years ago. I will cherish for the rest of my life all the memories (good and bad) and the great people (dancers and patrons) I've met at the G. Anyway, as they say, all good things must come to an end... ;(

 

With a little help from VDN let's all make this the GRAND FINALE OF GAIETY PICTURE POSTINGS!!
