On a last minute whim, decided to go to Montreal for two nights from NYC. Have met quite a few m4m posters during a lot of trips to Rio this year. Anyone going to be in Montreal fri or sat nite?? Any tips anyone wants to offer. Like great old fashioned hotels - any recommendations and any info on the Queen Elizabeth. Any special happenings??

Hi: Although the Queen Elizabeth Hotel you asked about is old and elegant, it is far from the gay village (four metro stops to Berri-UQAM). The rooms are tiny and expensive. I used to stay there until I learned my way around Montreal. The Gouveneur Hotel on Place DuPuis is cheaper and more practical. The staff at the Gouveneur are pleasant and the rooms are decent and reasonably priced. The restaurant, however, is awful and the waiters are consistently rude.

You do not need a lot of instructions to have a good time in Montreal. It just happens. It also depends on what you expect or like. I gathered from your posting that you have not been in Montreal. Try to give a little more information on what you want and maybe I can help. Good luck.

I can't offer any info on the QE; I've never stayed there. However, I can offer a personal observation based on a great deal of experience in staying outside of the Village.

I stay in lots of Marriotts and often have certificates for free nights when I am traveling for fun. Consequently, when I first started staying in Montreal I started staying in the various Marriotts. All of these are outside of the Village.

I've enjoyed staying in the middle of Montreal so much that I've continued this practice. While I'm there, I certainly spend enough time in the village at night; I don't need to be there 24/7 and Montreal has much more to offer than just what's in the Village.

I've stayed at Chateau Champlain many times. It's only a couple of blocks away from the QE. There's a Metro stop (Bonaventure) below the Chateau, which makes getting to the Berri-UQAM Metro station a five-minute trip. But it's also a really delightful walk down Ste. Catherine and great exercise -- about 20 minutes or so, depending on how fast you walk.

Last week, I stayed at a Residence Inn that is twice as far away from the Village as the QE. On Friday night, I was leaving the Village at 3:00 am and it was a wondeful, warm night. I decided to walk to the hotel. I walked briskly and was able to make most of the lights green, so didn't have to stop often. The city was still vibrant and vital and awake and full of people, so the walk was interesting and fun. It took me just about an hour (it's about 10 minutes by subway), but it was wonderful and I felt great when I got to the hotel. I enjoyed it so much that I walked back to the Village on Saturday afternoon. This took a bit longer because the streets were more crowded but there was so much to see (including, of course, the Jazz festival) that I enjoyed it very much.

So don't be afraid of staying outside the Village. There are many benefits to doing so, not least of which is having access to many more hotels and to much more of the city. At the end of the night, if you don't feel like walking, there are plenty of taxis cruising St. Catherine right outside the bars. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 60 seconds for a taxi and all of the major hotels are less than C$10 from the Village.

If you do stay at the QE or at the Chateau Champlain or the Sheraton Centre or any of the hotels in that area, I'd like to recommend a small restaurant to you: Le Grand Cafe on Rue Union. It's only a few blocks away, toward the Village, and delightful.

Enjoy your stay!

guys, thanks for all of the tips. going to arrange hotel this morning. sounds like there will be much to do. In terms of the bars with available boys - is it possible to arrange overnights there at any of them or is any action confined to the premises. is there anything like Stellas where rentboys hang out in Montreal or are there any agencies any of you have had experience with? thanks for all your help. Will definitely try the restaurant recommendation.

Basically this is just a two nite getaway with lots of walking, some shopping and maybe some rentboy fun at night.

I really think that the unique thing about Montreal (for those of us who come to this board) is the quality of the strip clubs. I think you need to make sure you spend a lot of time at those. The FAQ about all the clubs are posted right here in this forum in the Male Strip Club info above (Taboo, Stock, Campus, and Adonis).

As for overnights, you will find some boys who do at all of the clubs. You wil just need to ask them when you have them in the back rooms doing private lapdances.

RE: Montreal - July 4th weekend or No Room at The Inn

Rooms this weekend are at a premium due to the 4th July Weekend and Jazz Festival.

A blanket e-mail to all guy hotels may give you something if not try Priceline.com starting at around $70 US for 3 star and work your way up if it get rejected.

Regards

Tony

Hotel des Gouverneurs quoted me $149 for a weekend night later this summer. I remember paying a lot less in the past. Has our dollar dived so hard?

Just ridiculous to spend those prices when it is so easy to get good Hoels on Priceline for between $50-$75 US which is $68-$105 Canadian.

that is a lot of Lap Dances or privates

Firecat, boy do I agree with you about that.

Lucky, that $149 is the standard"discounted(AAA-AARP)rate at the gouv'now.Club members pay $125-$139 depending on availibility.and they do not upgrade club members automaticly any longer. This, like the entire operation of their hotel, seem to depend upon the whim of the person checking you in!

FUCK THEM AND THEIR AMATURE SHOW HOTEL!!!!NEVER AGAIN.

Gulliver,go to priceline,bid$80 for a four star-if not succesful, close that bid and try again for a three star for $75.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for priceline bidding tips-MAKE SURE YOU READ PRICELINES RULES FIRST namely, that if your bid is accepted, your credit card will be charged for the full amount-no refunds-no changes.

Have a wonderful time in my favorite city,La Belle Montreal! You will return often I am sure!

Montreal is a grand place, lots to do and at good prices. The QE is an older and claasy hotel -- like most in that categore, it's got some old and small rooms, and some larger and renovated rooms. I like the Intercontinental, very nice place and close to Old Montreal.

While most of the discussions here are about the clubs, Montreal also has a couple of agencies worth noting. I've tried Agence Bel Homme and was extremely pleased. Taboo-like fellow, very friendly, and the price was very right. Search around in here and you will find phone numbers.

A friend and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza two years ago and checked out after one night. The bed was decrepit and the hotel needed serious rehab. Plus, it is a good walk (uphill) to the hotel after a night out at Stock! I agree that Gouvernuers could be better. The food is horrible, but I just like the convenience. Though if I could stay at the Westin or Ritz on Priceline for less, I would!

Hi Jason Land, This is Cooper!:+ Welcome aboard, it's wonderful to have you as a new M4M member. Your performance at the Gaiety this past weekend was very sensual and memorable. Thanks for the straddle! ... Let me know when you'll be returning... Don't let this go to your head, :p but you're a really hot looking guy with a fantastic personality. I enjoyed my private time with you... Don't know if you've done so already, but posting your travel plans on the "Escort Travels" forum gets more attention.
