I’d like to start this thread in order to discuss the latest rash of Gaiety reviewers. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the work that goes into each review however I feel that there are certain topics that do not need to be discussed. For instance, is it really necessary for the moderator of this forum to list the place of origin of Gaiety dancers, their hotel and the location of that hotel in the city and the time required to reach that hotel and then to take it even further, to give directions to that hotel? Why do we, the audience need to know that certain dancers (very popular and nice dancers) tried to push a three way on Cooper? Why is the moderator of this forum, Cooper, reviewing escorts in this forum when it is the policy of this website that escorts are not reviewed in the forums but instead a review is submitted and then posted in the review section.

Yes, I know that moderating is a thankless job and the pay sucks to write these reviews. God knows NYObsrvr has said enough on that but there comes a time where you just have to say something about the substance of these reviews. I'm hoping that others will read this post and make suggestions to the owner, moderators and reviewers on this website.

We have been through this all before. Names, places of origin and suggestions of liaisons have led to police raids. Remember this is Times Square, home of Disney Incorporated and not Long Island. Some of the items discussed in these reviews are illegal and its more than I want to know. Please don’t ruin it for the majority of the Gaiety audience that attends these shows just to see the show. Review yes but review with style and class.

Sports-o-centric

I disagree with the author who started this thread. First, the reviews generally stick to the stage performance, so it is an overstatement to attribute any other comments to the review of the show (see, for example the 3-way discussion, which began solely in response to MY POST on Michael).

Second, the author should be more realistic. Very few readers check this site to see how the dancers "dance." This site is called M4M "ESCORT" Reviews. If he is uptight about legality of postings, he should check out http://www.disney.com.

Check facts

It is not accurate to say that providing places of origin on this site have led to "police raids" at clubs. Most dancers who know the details will tell you that the problem began when some dancers tried to get green cards from an undercover INS agent, and gave their own place of origin to the INS. This site did not cause any "raids."

Place of origin is just a nice to know kind of fact, and I see nothing wrong with stating that, as it is an interesting, imo, fact to know. What is wrong with the hotel info, as it is very beneficial to those who are not familiar with NYC and helps out of towners to get their bearings which helps when booking your own hotel?

>Why do we, the audience

>need to know that certain dancers (very popular and nice

>dancers) tried to push a three way on Cooper?

Well, I don't know if you are a client or not, but I found the info useful, because, imo, this is at best a shady practice and at worst an outright hustle. What is wrong with knowing that in advance so potential clients can avoid booking a private hotel visit with those dancers? What would a client be expected to do in this situation? Would he be coerced in going to the nearest atm to get additional funds? If he refused, what would happen? A hustler is a hustler and if anyone has info to that fact, I see nothing wrong in reporting it. I would also hope that Gaiety management would like to know this info, as dancers come and go, but the clients are the regulars that provide the cash flow to keep the place in business!

>Names, places of origin and suggestions of liaisons have led to police raids.

And reviews of the backroom action don't. I seriously doubt any raids would result from providing information about hotels and potential hustle situations.

>Remember this is Times Square, home of Disney Incorporated and

>not Long Island. Some of the items discussed in these reviews

>are illegal and its more than I want to know.

And these acts would not be illegal on Long Island? Don't want to know the facts of life, then get thee to a nunnery and don't read the reviews.

>Please don’t ruin it for the majority of the Gaiety audience that attends these shows just to see the show.

Why do I get the impression that you are one of those who get there early and hog all the front row seats for your friends and probably tip little if anything at all, would never book a private, and all the dancers just "love to see you there"?

Your topic was a "Review of Gaiety Reviews". If you read carefully, the "Weekday Reviews" only contain information on the dancer's stage show, nothing else... If your "concern" has to do with "replies" to the original threads than lets look at them. First off, you're incorrect, there has never been mention of where a dancer is staying. The names of the hotels they're staying at is private and if a member did post it, I'd have to delete it. My mention of "short-term" hotels is not where a dancer is staying... Secondly, NO DANCER has ever "pushed" a 3way on me. I'd like to know where that's coming from... Thirdly, why do you feel that mentioning where a dancer comes from is a problem? Never has a dancer ever said to me, don't publish where I'm from. If it's not a problem to them, why's it a problem to you? Finally, information on a dancer's private show, when he's in town, is of interest to many readers and is frequently requested. After all, this is a MC to discuss escorts. I'm very careful to point out that fee's are "for time only" and to use the term "full service", nothing more descriptive. A dancer is in town for only a week, and readers are looking for current reviews. Submitting a review on a dancer's private under "Newest Reviews" can take several weeks to get posted. At that point the review would have no value.

I hope this helps in addressing your concerns. I've been writing "Weekday Briefs/Shorts" for over 8 months and have always used discretion. Since this is the first time you have posted on this thread, perhaps you would like to make some positive contributions of your own. All comments are welcome.

Gee, I didn't know I was part of a rash! As has been pointed out, sports seems to be the only one who sees a problem here. As with other posts, we need to consider what he says and form our own opinion. Cooper's response speaks for me as well, including the part about no dancer ever forcing a three-way on me!

Perhaps, sports, you would like to try to do the reviews so we could see how interesting your point of view would be?

Lucky, IMO, I think it's great that members like you and Foxy also contribute to writing the "Weekday Lineups". Getting different points of views is very helpful to those who follow the G-reviews. We each have our own "taste" in dancers and can share our points of views. Since we've all been doing this on a rotating basis, I don't see this as being a "rash". As Martha would say, "it's a good thing"!

Bottom line, the purpose of the Gaiety reviews is to keep members informed on the "hottest show on Broadway".

Ok, I think I will weigh in on this topic too. My apologies in advance for writing too much, some things never change.

Having written a Gaiety review on this site for over 3 years, I realize how much work goes into it. I appreciate the lineups and comments on the dancers that appear in these weekly previews. Thanks to those of you who have been doing this since I went on my sabbatical. It's great to know early on in the week who is on stage and what they look like, etc. If I didn't have a full-time job that kept me quite occupied, I would have loved to do my review on Mondays too, but alas, I couldn't regularly make it to the theatre that early in the week and then spend the time writing a quality review. Also, I didn't like awarding my weekly awards before all the votes were tallied.

I do, however, agree on several of the points that Sports makes. Not that my reviews were ever definitive, but I intentionally did not mention anything about private shows in my review. I was chastised on more than one occasion for mentioning where a dancer was from. In fact, I believe that people who have contributed to this thread even criticized me for mentioning that some dancers were Canadian. Perhaps times have changed? My review was intended as a review of the stage show and the personalities exhibited on stage and in the lounge and only those aspects of the Gaiety. Just as a movie review does not talk about the private lives of the cast, I felt that a review of what went on off-stage was completely separate from the objective of my writing. I wanted to give the reader a feeling for what went on, to celebrate the excitement of seeing these hot guys up on stage for our enjoyment. I felt that what went on outside the theatre was much more private in nature. One man's good private is another's bad private. The chemistry that occurs between a dancer and a patron is very individual. It's dependent on so many factors, some of which are out of our control. When people had written to me for advice, I was always willing to give them my two cents, but always privately and always reminding them that every interaction was unique. Perhaps my "discretion" was why Gaiety management never hassled me about the reviews and their content. Quite to the contrary, I believe they benefitted quite handsomely from the attention I gave them. I do know that at the beginning there was a lot of grumbling about the publicity (though nobody ever said anything to me directly), worrying about the damage that a review could do. When it was clear that I was not talking about private shows, there was a gradual acceptance level. Several people did write to me upset that my "harmless" review would close down the Gaiety. I never felt that my review mattered that way, one way or the other, but I didn't feel like I was empowered to take on the subject of privates and to expound on what went on with whom. As I've stated so many times, we all have our own opinions and to write definitively on what a private was like gives more weight to these instantaneous reviews than these comments warrant.

Another site started the practice of posting the dancer's mini-review and their phone numbers. From what I've heard, that practice has been shut down. It was deemed a threat and was promptly extinguished.

My thought is that a private should be (somewhat) private. I would certainly share by email/face-to-face with anyone whether I felt a person gave a good or bad private from my limited experience or from what I'd heard from others, but my feeling is that this area is not the appropriate place. Reviews of that should be done in real escort reviews, despite the time frame of a dancer being at the theatre for only a week. There is far more exposure in a review than in this forum, as many people don't even know the Message Center exists. To post my experiences in the reviews would have done several things. It would firstly and foremost make it seem like I was more of an authority than others on the topic and I never claimed that was the case. I never wanted the dancer to feel threatened by me or my review (of the show). I always wanted to be fair in my assessment and when I did go for a private, I never told the guy I was the one who wrote the reviews (of course, many figured it out). That shouldn't have entered into the quality of my experience.

On another point, while no mention was made of the specific hotel that a dancer was staying at, it didn't take a lot of deductive powers to figure things out. I'm sure that it was intended as tongue and cheek, but I think it was definitely more information than I personally needed to know. Just as I never listed out which guys I elected to do privates with, I felt that some things were best left unsaid.

I hope my comments are not interpreted as being overly critical. I always felt that the Gaiety review should be about the show and not the private shows. Perhaps I didn't understand the intent and why this area was separate from the regular reviews.

As always, I welcome comments both here and privately at my email (nyobsrvr@aol.com)

RE: A Bit of History...

When the Gaiety reviews were first posted, there was a special section on M4M where you could go and enjoy them. There was no opportunity to reply or comment. Towards the end of NYO's reviews, he began to publish them on the MC so members could add thoughts, comments, and questions. The practice of posting just the reviews continues. It's at the beginning of each thread called "Weekday Lineups". The reviews contain information on a dancer's performance and give a description.

When the reviews hit the MC, questions were raised by members. A lot of these questions dealt with the private show and where the dancers were from. These questions are now being addressed in the "replies", not in the reviews.

There are two types of people who attend the Gaiety, the spectators and the players. The spectators enjoy watching the show and appreciate the fine quality of dancers. Some even put tips on the stage. The players are there not only to see the dancers performance, but to decide if they want to hook up afterwards. Doing a private is how these dancers make the big money that keeps bringing them back again and again. Don't think tips alone are going to get the likes of a Dominic or TJ to return.

The private show is a big part of the Gaiety Theatre and should not be overlooked, it needs to be discussed not avoided. Many patrons have learned from others that asking questions before going on a private will make for a better private. The Gaiety Lounge is where a lot of deals are made and this is part of the Gaiety experience. If a dancer shows up "high" for a private, I'd like to know it, and if a dancer gives an excellent private, that helps in making my decision. The reviews on a dancers private have always been done in limitation. They don't read like a review posted under the "Newest Reviews". Nothing is reported on whether or not he's a great kisser, a good fuck, or how great of a bj he gives. Terms such as "full service" and "mini service" have been substituted. Since this practice has been going on for quite some time, it's odd that all of a sudden this becomes an issue. As for where dancers originate from, it's become a common practice both on this board and another to provide it. Several dancers now use the same names, there could be a Michael or Tommy from LA, Montreal, NYC, etc. For identification purposes, it helps to know which one you're talking about.

So, if you're interested in just reading the lineups and reviews on dancers, then enjoy the very thorough and interesting ones that are being provided each week. If you need information on a patricular dancer, such as where he's from or how's his private, just ask, someone might just know. The new Strip Club forum was created to provide as much helpful information as possible. It's obvious that this forum is getting a lot of "hits", the numbers keep growing. I guess we're doing something right.

However, always remember these comments are our opinions, not statements of facts.

I would be very interested in hearing from other members on what type of information you would like to see posted about the Gaiety and it's dancers. Since this is the first time this issue has come up, it would be helpful for Foxy, Lucky and me to know. BTW, don't keep your feelings on reviews (or the moderator) bottled up and lash out when you have nothing better to do. Posting a comment about a review/reply when it's first raised makes a lot more sense then waiting several months to vent. Foxy, Lucky, and I are committed to making the reviews better and more interesting. With your input, we can accomplish this task. Coop

NYO, your reviews were wonderful. I remember that you took a lot of criticism as well. Some people just have to complain even though they know that the reviewer is a volunteer doing his best. The rest of us are good sports about it. Maybe the reviewer isn't seeing things the way we would, or writing in a different way than we would, but at least he is making the contribution.

There may be too much detail at times. In a formal review, the dancer gets the last word on Hooboy's site. Here, in this forum, a criticsm of the dancer may never be answered because the dancer doesn't even know it was made. So I think that is an area for improvement. I agree that it is not necessary to name the hotel where the dancer is staying. But I do agree with Cooper that information about privates is important because so many times there is disappointment. It seems to me that it is all about balancing everybody's interests so that the greater community is served. Cooper is doing a fine job and everyone should let him know what they think. It is a forum, after all.

Thank you Sports for writing your review.

I agree with you. A lot of the replies for your comments come from people who are oblivious to the fact that law enforcement monitors these kind of sites. Either they are thinking with their hormones or they want to self-destruct or they want to destroy.

The liberty by which the respondents use this site to broadcast to the world their shenanigans will ultimately lead to their undoing, and unfortunately, for all of us. Sad to say, no matter what we say, there will be the kind of responses you will get here which defy reason.

Among other things, M4M provides information and reviews on escorts. Each day members make contributions to this site to tell us about their recent experience with an escort. Many of us find this information very valuable in making decisions on hiring. As someone already pointed out, this is not disney.com. If this type of information "bothers" you, then why are you here? Is your sole purpose to attack those members who make positive contributions to the goals of this board? Unless you have some factual information that this site has led to the arrest of some escorts, then report it as your opinion. The only problems Gaiety dancers had with the law was unrelated to their employment. It was an incident with not having proper ID.

If you read carefully, you'll see that the term "for time only" is used to avoid any conflict with the law. M4M is not the only site that provides details on escorts, but IMO, it's the best.

It's also nice to see members posting here for the 1st time. I hope you'll continue to make positive contributions to this Forum.

Finally, if anyone feels something improper or damaging has been written about an escort/dancer. Send an ALERT to the moderators. We will review it carefully, decided if it needs to be edited, and get back to you. As of today, no ALERTS have been sent regarding this forum.

Cooper, I think you are doing a great job. Since I don't live in NYC, I never read the gaiety posts much, until you started doing them. I like hearing about the backroom privates, as that is important to a lot of us, and I have not seen any breach of conduct or discretion on your part.

I agree that it is good to hear from new and/or infrequent posters as they can add a new element to the regular mix, but really, if they are only posting to sound unfounded alarms or to criticize moderators such as yourself, who do a very thankless job, then why do they bother?

Keep up the good work, as many of us appreciate your insight and guidance. :)

VaHawk, WOW! thanks for a very nice compliment. I'll try to live up to it by continuing to post freely and creatively.

Lucky, you've always been there for me, Thanks!
