Didn’t really want to enter into the mix of this, but I wanted to comment that I think your disagreements are derived from differences from a Tale of Two Cities! :-) First of all, San Francisco is not Las Vegas. In San Francisco, boys will never go hungry due to the spirit of Saint Francisco, himself. They can always get a free meal at one of the many charitable organizations that are located there. It’s also quite easy for them to acquire a free roof over their heads, and also free medical care! Owning a bar there on Polk Street, I served free burgers to a lot of them. So, it's not a matter of survival. x(

 

Unfortunately, Polk Street has turned into a haven for boys that are looking to satisfy their habits (drugs, that is). Interesting enough, $40 can get them high really quick. You can look down on that, accept the fact, or take advantage of the fact. Bui, I find it hard to believe that any of that has changed over night. :-(

I live in NYC. The going rate for escorts is in the $150-300 range. Just recently, in Times Square (A really dingy area for picking up guys) I met two different guys, on two different occasions that I had a great time with.
