>Anyone know what a body electric massage in plain terms? I

Having worked in Berkeley for a long time, it turns out that the founder of the school worked in the same building I did on campus.

I'm not heavily (or even minorly) into new-age religion, but I get the impression that the massage is eastern-philosophically influenced, uses some tantric techniques and other things intended to cause bonding between the masseur and person receiving.

I'm also old to enough to remember the song "I sing the Body Electric ..." (and so is Kramer, for that matter).

Gentlemen, the site has recently been referred to as a cultural wasteland. Let us remember that that song was inspired by a poet whose poetry is often taught in high schools, but whose gayness might be left out if we're not careful, The Good Gray Poet, Walt Whitman!!

On the subject, yes, Body Electric is based largely upon Taoist and Tantric principles. Most of the best body workers actually trained by the Body Electric school, (which has its own website though I don't remember what it's address it. I'll try to look it up for you within the next few days) offer more services than just massage. There can also be some meaningful role playing, etc. One of the best websites from a Sacred Intimate, as such fully trained workers call themselves is at http://www.maleescorts.com/ ads/pages/showpage.cgi?3248 It also has great links to others Sacred Initmates. I cannot completely describe to you what they do, exactly, as there doesn't seem to be one in Houston yet and I have never hired one. However, their philosophy seems to match mine pretty much and I hope to become one of them by Fall '04.

Body Electric is a sensual masssage practice based on ancient Tantric and Taoist erotic massage techniques. They give 2-day workshops all over the country. There's a spiritual component to it as well as the erotic massage. It uses a kind of yoga breathing to stave off orgasm during the erotic massage. The idea of a pure Body Electric massage is to recycle the sexual energy back into your body by having a nonejaculatory full-body orgasm they call the "big draw."

Well I finally found someone in the Kansas City area that has experience with body electric massage. I have an appointment set for Thursday. If anyone has been through this, I'd appreciate any tips or suggestions.

Here is the best tip ENJOY, Stay open minded, Breath well and listent to what your body is saying to you. I had one last night here in Austin and the experience was amazing. The final orgasm was so intense that I hit the lamp shade twice which was two to three feet past my head. That was a record for me. Remember that this is not ment to be sex, there is usually no oral and no penetration (sometimes that is hard not to do), other than finger to prostate, if that is in your massage request. Remember to breath, Breath through your nose deep, and exhale through your mouth almost with a moan, try to do remember this and consentrate on it and the way your breath and the touch of the masseur churn the erotic energy that normaly is only in the head of your dick to every nerve ending in your body, believe it, it does work. Your orgasm can feel like it is comming out of the top of your head if you just let it work. I hope you have a great teacher and a wonderful time, let us all know how you liked it.

Houston guys - If all of this sounds good to you, there is going to be the first class in the Body Electric series here in town Saturday and Sunday November 9 & 11. I'll be one of the students, but if you are interested and contact me I will put you in touch with the teachers.

Well I finally had my first "Body Electric" experience and it was a TOTAL disappointment. I received a lot about what the experience is like and I was expecting heavy emphasis on breathing, some cock/ball/ass work but no cum, and maybe some light bondage-type actions. The masseuse had been to three Body Electric training sessions so I thought it would be legit. It lasted only 45 minutes and turned out to be a basic rub-down - not even a massage. There was nothing about breathing. The ass work I was expecting was a 5 minute butt rub and as soon as I turned over he went straight to my cock and tried to get me off. After about 10 minutes of a j/o session he asked if I was close. I said no and I wasn't planning on cumming and that was it. He thanked me a lot and really wants to set up another session. No way - not even if its free. I have a better experience with my normal masseuse and he's straight.

That's because what you had was not Body Electric. Come to New York--we'll show you what's it really about.

THIS IS REALLY VERY FUNNY.

I agree that what you received was NOT a Body Electric Massage. BE involves rituals, breathing and all what has been described above. What you got was a "rubdown" with attempted release.

The response below is an excellent explanation of Body Electric.

I took the course in Oakland, wanting to take the course in the same city as where it's headquartered. Afterward I came away thinking of it as time well-spent. With SF just over the bridge, I'd thought to myself, "this had better be good. I could be tooling around SF with my friend." It was just what I wanted it to be, but partly because I made sure I enjoyed it. I listened carefully, didn't judge what they told me to do, and absorbed the training. It's cliche, but it's true...what you get out of something depends a lot on what you put into it.

Best regards, all.
