It was a very late night dinner and there were 3 courses.

 

I met this kid online and thought he was hot. I called him and invited him to my hotel. I left word for the front desk that I was expecting company and to take his ID and send him up. They did and when the doorbell rang, I opened it and stood there gawking.

My dilema is that he is worth the money. I can afford it. It is creating a bad precedent especially if I take him to Europe with me this summer. I am at a loss to know what to do! Should I follow Marc Anthony's advice and snag him up and spend the rest of my vacation with him or should I follow my Brazilian friend's advice and tell him to have a nice life.

Hey Oz,

 

There are always some exceptions to the rule when it comes to pricing. Even in the USA there are escorts who get considerably more then the going rate. Especially when you realize many escorts discount their long term rates from their listed rates. Then there are a few who never discount because they are in demand.

 

Bottom line , I believe as a general rule , you should not pay much over the going rate in a foreign land . But there are always some boys who can get it and if you don't give it to them somebody else will.

 

If the kid rocks your boat , give him the money it is still a bargain compared to your recent sprees.

That's not only in Sao Paulo, but many of the locals in Rio do not like our over-spending ways!

Sounds like a classic example of a hustler over-committing to get the deal but it's not right to give the boy nothing. That's why it's important for us to clearly lay out the ground rules up front so there's no misunderstanding. It was a nice gesture for you to smooth over American-Brazil relations -- you might have saved him from bodily harm, but he might not still realize that his actions do not play in Brazil. He could have wound up as a statistic in Brazil's rather large homicide rate over a mere $R30.

Well put Fire. I think this is one boy who can get it from others fairly easily. I seems to come from more middle class upbringing and the money is not as important to him as to many. In many places, he is a bargain and someone I would take on trips with me overseas.

Thanks. I did try to find out prices for him before but my only contact with him was via phone and we spent over 20 min on phone trying to talk with no success. I finally got someone from the hotel on the line and just told them to tell him to come to my room. I figured that was better to to tell them what I would pay for him. So, it was not possible for me to talk up front about money. Also, this is just another reason that I wish I had Eduardo with me for my trip. He always did the talking in advance and probably would have saved me a fortune the other night!

I never try to drive up any escort stock market. I pay going rates everywhere I go. I do tip for good service but I have never once on this trip been with a sauna guy for more than 50R that was agreed to up front. I do tip for good service and I do tip for good bottoms. But, I usually pay going rate. As my good friend Firecat pointed out, there are exceptions to every rule, if my lust for this guy is great, I'll pay him handsomly for this services. Why would anyone begrudge a Brazilian sauna boy making as much money as clients are willing to pay or ending up being kept in a castle in Austria!? I say more power to these successful boys. This is an example of American capitalism at its finest. Look how Arnold Scwazeneggar used his body to eventually end up in the governor's mansion in California, and is now even trying to get the constitution changed so he can run for president.

 

I don't buy the argument that we have to pay these boys the same rate as their local clients. We spend thousands of dollars travelling from the US and staying in nice hotels in Brazil and then fault a boy who is giving us his beautiful body for good sex and companionship when he asks to be paid more than $R50 (about $20). Just because an american pays more than $R50 doesn't mean the local clients have to pay more. There aren't enough Americans to buy up all the boys in the saunas so there will be many boys who will still agree to go with the locals for $R50.

Nobody begrudges a sauna boy for trying to make the best of his assets. As other posters have said, there are exceptions to all rules, and some guys are worth more than others. If you develop a serious relationship with one of the guys there's nothing the matter with helping him financially in a more substantial way.

 

As a general rule, though, YOU SHOULD NOT OVERPAY. It distorts the local economy, angers the local clients, leads to unrealistic expectations among the sauna guys, and exposes you to problems with the guys that can lead to BIG trouble during your stay. See other postings for the details.

 

Remember always that you're in a different country, in a different economy, and in most cases, in a place with a culture and a language you don't fully understand. Most of the sauna guys are honest and decent. Some of them are true princes. At least a few, unfortunately, are con artists and opportunists, and it can be difficult for a visitor who doesn't know the language, scene and culture to sort out which is which. One thing is certain though: if you're throwing money around wildly (by Brazilian standards) you'll attract the attention of the scammers. If you stick to local pricing, it tells the guys you're familiar with the local scene and that you're not an easy mark. Being sensible in your spending is not only appropriate for the local economy, it also will help to keep you safe during your visit.

I always have a good time at Fragata. It is a nice place. The rates to get in and to have a room are reasonable and the boys are cute. The guys often range from average to great. There seem to be a ton of average boys there the times I have been. The customers seem to be loyal to the place and have a good relationship with the boys. Drinks are cheap and the place is clean and well-run.

Oz, have you been to Sao Paulo more than once? I know you've stated that you've been to Rio on another occasion besides your present stint.

 

I'm glad that you were able to go to Lagoa. Although I have been there only once, I liked the place and its guys. I felt comfortable and took control of the situation. I was also elated when guys would approach me and if I were not interested and would politely decline, the guys themselves would smile and quietly walk away.

 

And Oz, since you do not speak Portuguese (I don't either, unfortunately...)-- the escorts outside of the sauna will definitely raise their prices. When I saw my three guys from the Olimpos site, I had my guide to make the arrangements. All three charged R$150 + taxi fare of around $R20 or R$30. I was fine with this.

You are right, I was asking for advice. The rate I am paying him is much more than a boy I would pick up from the sauna. But, I did not pick him up from the sauna. I found him online and with a service that caters to many Americans and charges more for the boy's services.

I really don't mind showering him with affection and financial security but have been around too long to know that a committed relationship once I leave Brazil is no longer committed. I have done that in the past and with diasterous results. It does work with with my boyfriend in Thailand as he prefers to date ladyboys and girls as opposed to men and I give more money each month that he could possibly ever make in Thailand. When I am there, he is there for me 24/7 and when I am away, he is having fun in the sun. That is fine with me as I want to baske in the sun occassionally as well. Luckily, I go to bars in both cities with friends who are locals. I have their perspective. I spent the last 3 days in Sao Paulo with a guy from here that is known at all the bath houses. He tells all the boys to treat me right and I'll treat them the same way. I only pay 50R for a session at the sauna and I do tip accordingly. But, I always seperate the two. I pay the price and say thank you. I then tip and say that this is for them being so good and sweet. Frankly, I would never just pay 50R for someone to bottom for me. It is not in my nature. Dance Clubs and Music Stores

 

Sorry for my lack of posting recently. I have been quite busy with my date for the week. He keeps me busy constantly and we have been learning more about the internet sex world in Brazil and picking up boys online.

 

I know that there are many sexy boys in the sauna but where the real jewels in Sao Paulo are are in the dance clubs at night. It is a virtual feast for the eyes. DANGER DANCE CLUB DOWTOWN

Tonight my date and I were walking into the hotel when we noticed some guys who were flight attendants on a layover. We said hi and they responded and we chatted a bit. It was nice. We invited them to our room for drinks and they came up. We all decided to go to a dance club. We chose Danger as I love shows and they had not been there.

 

Danger is in the Central Downtown area. It is a nice club and is frequented by a great many drag queens. The show was great, the music was awsome and the atmosphere was fun. There was tons of eye candy and plenty of drag queens to share. There were shows throughout the night mixed with the music. The crowd was a wide mix of younger and older, gay and straight, guys and girls, drags and men. The stage was the centerpiece of the place and gave for plenty of room for the performances.

 

I have been told that hiring a sexy guy for the week was stupid and thowing my money away. hehe. Well, I was surrounded by his friends tonight. He is a great guy, fun to be with and full of life and energy. For an old man like me to keep up with him is not easy!

You and I think alike in so many ways. But, we have known this for ages. What a treat he has been to spend 7 days with. He is adorable, yummy and always fun. And, yes, it has been wonderful.
