For escorts, contact Michael's Boys. He's got a good stable of cuties. Several have been reviewed on here, but I don't remember which. I think there was Mischa, but not really sure.

Museums, don't miss the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and my favorite is the Rembrandthuis, the former residence of Rembrandt, and connected to a wonderful museum.

Now this should be interesting!!

I have been following yor adventures in Thailand and no doubt you have read about the scene in Amsterdam going downhill over the last 10 years. (See the various threads under Amsterdam and the Whynot).

Will be extremely interested to hear what you think about Amsterdam compared with the Thailand scene.

I have visited Amsterdam for about 20 years (from the UK) and am considering changing to the Far East!

Gerefan

PS The only other House with Boys is the Club 21, just around the corner from the Whynot. Presumably you will visit it after you have seen what little is available at the Whynot!!

Well, I got to visit the famous WhyNot tonight. My question was why? There were only 2 boys there. One was black and one was asian. I like both types at times but really wanted to see me a blond and blue tonight. No luck there. The place was dead and I was the only customer. They said it picks up on weekends. I will give it another try then.

I did not make the other bar tonight. I have an escort for tomorrow night to show me the town, so I am sure we will hit it before the night is over.

I did take the Asian boy to a room. The cost is 125E for the room and the boy for one hour. He was handsome, mid twenties, versatile, short muscle boy. He was passionate and I enjoyed spending time with him so my time was not wasted. :) But, I was disappointed in the bar. Hopefully, it will be better when I give it one more try this weekend! :)

Last night, I had an overnight with a great guy who came highly recommended on this site. (Review will be posted) He took me around the city to many of the gay areas. We visited about 6 or 7 more bars and walked around a few of the gay areas of the city. The first bar we visited was Music Box. There was no one there. No One. So, we went next door and that bar had many guys there but not really anyone we were interested in chatting with. We went to the famous Cockring and Club 21. Club 21 was empty and was closing early (we got there around 1:15am).

All in all, I have not seen the total of gay life in Amsterdam yet but I got a good feel for it last night and the night before. What I can say for sure is that the streets are filled with tons of eye candy but the bars seem to be devoid of them. :) I am hoping that something different will catch my eye tonight or tomorrow, but my thoughts keep jumping back to Montreal. :) Fire, Marc, Tampa, can you hear the boys at Taboo calling my name? I thought I heard it last night but am so far away it may have been a dream. Did you guys hear anything? :) Tell me I am not forgotten there! ;)

OZ,

I used to go to Amsterdam frequently a decade or so ago when things were still worthwhile. Up until perhaps 6 years ago there were various places one could go and people you could meet to fit any taste.

In my later years visiting I skipped the bar scene and headed straight to the saunas as these were more interesting, filled with a variety of men (and boys) and it was nearly impossible to leave without having had a nice time (and for free aside from the entrance fee).

I used to frequent WHY NOT in the past when they would have up to a dozen or more boys working a weekday night. That was long ago. Your own experience seems to be more common now. The last two or three times I visited, it was seedy and the owner was a pain in the ass controlling you with "his boys". Last few times I visited there was hardly anyone worth chatting with - unless you go for a cross between trannies and trailer trash.

In Europe these days I do my adventuring elsewhere (like occasional trips to Moscow, Barcelona, or Prague... and there are still some nice diversions in German cities. London is also terrific but pricey compared to other places.

Day 1

My first full day in Amsterdam was spent at the museums. I have a wonderful time looking over the works of Rembrandt and Van Gogh and others. I had a nice lunch at the Hard Rock cafe where I picked up some pins for friends in USA. I took a short canal cruise around the city and was fascinated with the architecture and beauty of the city. Amsterdam really is a most lovely city and the canals, buildings, history are just a part of it. The people seem very lovely and tolerant. I have met some wonderful people so far and am having fun.

My date last night was Anton from Amsterdam. He is 30 something and an amazingly nice guy. His passion for sex as well as his passion to introduce a newbie to Amsterdam was fantastic. We had dinner at a nice cafe called the Ritz and then he took me on a tour of gay bars and areas. He is filled with knowledge of the city and the history of its people. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him and there will be a review to follow.

I mentioned in an earlier post some of the places we went to last night. I went back to WhyNot to get a gay map. This time the number of boys had doubled. There were about 4 of them there. There was one that I was interested in and may try back another time.

When we got to Club 21 (around the corner from WhyNot) they were closed and had no boys but let us in and we chatted with the manager and one guy. It was a nice lengthy conversation on American politics and legal standings of gays in the USA and abroad. I am always a bit surprised that people think that Americans believe everything they hear in the speeches of George W. Bush. Often they don't understand that he does not represent all of us. A long conversation about this was had last night as we leaned against the black leather sofas in Club 21 and the very feminine manager sachet back and forth around the bar. :) Although, it was hard to convince them anything I said was true and that many Americans don't like Bush or his policies, the conversation was fun and lively.

Picture this: Amsterdam 2004: An old bear diva dressed in slacks and pimp coat, a beautiful Dutch escort named Anton who is VERY intelligent and a law student, a former drag queen diva with a quick sense of humor and a knack for jokes, a Syrian born bar boy who believes that gays should not express themselves in public and loves older hairy men. Add those guys together in the atmosphere of a gay bar with black leather sofas, bookshelves with books, a bar with alcohol and everyone of the 4 very opinionated and that was the close of my evening. I will say of the four, I was Dorothy. Anton would have been Blanch. The manager was Sofia and the Syrian was Rose. Well, that was my take on the evening anyway. Either I have spent too much time watching the Golden Girls or I was just too bored with the other bars that this lively event stuck out in my mind and was a highlight of the evening. :)

Anyway, that was my first day in Amsterdam! Did I mention the eye candy on the streets? I was in the gay area today and met a boy that looked like he lived close to the street life. We chatted for a bit and worked out a nice arrangement, 150E for unlimited time. He just left my room and I made it out of the situation alive and with a powerful orgasm. He was a beautiful blond and blue Dutch boy who was a total power bottom. His kisses were sweet and the smell of weed covered his clothes. Oh to be young and free! :) So, my second day got off to a great start!

Did I mention the eye candy on the streets?

Cheers!

RE: Day 1

Oz: I was surfing the net and found an escort agency in Amsterdam called People Male.

Their phone number is 020-662- 9990 and their website is http://www.peoplemale.com

They have some cute Dutch boys... blond and blue which you were craving.

The most luscious ones (based on what I could see with the very small thumbnail pic) is Leonardo! Wow. Cute.

Others that I saw were Daan, Niels, Ken, Jason, and Nigel.

Of course, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so maybe you should give them a call or visit their website and see which ones you like best for yourself.

RE: Day 1

PeopleMale, unfortunately, does not have as good a reputation as Michael's Boys (this has been mentioned in old threads here). The one time that I used them, the guy they sent to my hotel room was a severe disappointment.

Oz, I'm glad you are enjoying Amsterdam, which is still my favorite European city to walk around, even though the bars and clubs don't seem to be as much fun as they used to be (well, maybe neither am I). I don't know your taste in food, but my favorite restaurant is a little gem called Hemelse Modder (means Heavenly Mud) on a quiet residential street just east of the red light district.

Day 2

Day 2 was great as well. After a nice trip the Ann Frank's house, I wondered around the city for a bit shopping and also went on another canal cruise. I had the 2 day pass and enjoyed my time from the day before.

Ann Frank's house was a very moving, very emotional experience for me. I had read the book in Junior High School and again as an adult. To be in the same rooms and to hear the squeaking of the doors and floors was simply a never forget experience.

I met a friend who lives in Amsterdam and we had dinner at his favorite restaurant. The food was great but the conversation was fantastic. As usual, my friend kept me entertained and my evening was lively. After dinner, we both went to Whynot and to Club 21. Both bars were relatively quite but I still had fun with good company. There was on boy at Club 21 that I wanted to pounce on. He was scrumptious and he had a great ass that was calling my name. But, alas, I wanted to long to make an arrangement with him and he was off. I got off as well but not with anyone's help! ;)

Summary: Last Day in Amsterdam

Well, tonight is my last night in this amazing city. It rained the entire time I was here and the weather really sucked. But, I did get an idea of what the city is and what it is not.

First off, let me say that Amsterdam is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. The people, the culture, the ambiance all combine together to make for an amazing holiday. I had a terrific time here. I was able to meet some nice boys and have some great sex. I was able to meet up with some old friends and make some new ones. I was able to go to some great museums and art galleries and bought some great Christmas gifts.

I was not impressed at all with the gay boy bars. It is not what I had hoped for. But, I think it is stupid to plan a trip around which city has good gogo bars. Only a complete pervert would do that. So, I am leaving the city and giving Prague a try tomorrow. :) I guess old habits die had and the lack of fun gogo bars makes me long for either Thailand or Canada. :) I have been told that Prague has gone down over the years as well but I want to give it a try anyway! :)

I did enjoy going to the leather bars here and I think had the weather been nicer, I would have enjoyed the gay areas more. I definitely want to come back here for a gay pride trip and I think next time, I will bring my boy candy along with me instead of trying to find it here. :)

The people here are amazing and very tolerant. One of the doormen at my hotel was helping me pick out a boy from Michael's and made sure he got to the room ok when he showed up.

Amsterdam is great and I would love to spend more time here. I don't leave the city because I didn't enjoy my time here, I leave only because I want to see if Prague has anything more to offer. :)

I go to Paris next week and have a boy meeting me there that will spend the week with me and I think that will be a great experience in that amazing city.

Hotels: I stayed at the Crown Plaza American. It was very nice and easy to get around to everywhere. It has high speed access in the lobby for free but not in the rooms. It was advertised as being in the rooms but it was not and that was a problem for me. If I had to do it over again, I would have stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. It is directly across from the back entrance to WhyNot and Club 21 and it now has high speed access in every room. The Crown Plaza was 211E a night plus tax. The Renaissance was 195E plus tax. The Renaissance was more centrally located and very close to Central Station.

Transportation: Walking is the easiest way to get anywhere in this city. I walked most places or I would take the subway system they have. It is very easy and cheap to use. To get to the airport today to pick up my Prague ticket, I took the 370 bus. It stops right outside of the airport entrance. There is a sign that says 370 on the post. It costs 3.10E to get to the city and it dropped me off right in front of my hotel.

Bars and Clubs: WhyNot and Club 21 and the Music Box are worth checking into and seeing. Weekends are definitely better than weekdays. The leather bars are fun and if you like real men, they have a wide variety and the dark rooms are busy and fun.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me on here and I will assist in anyway I can. All in all, this was a great visit and I loved things here!

Reporting from the former sex capital of the world,

Oz
