Which European City??

I have a week's vacation (at last!) in mid-April and want to have a new European experience. I know London (great for escorts) and Paris (a desert in this respect) well, and want to branch out.

 

I am interested in your advice for the city that combines

a) ample choice in reasonably priced escorts

b) interesting cultural life

c) great food

 

I have never been to Central Europe, and am intrigued by some of the web sites for Budapest and Prague escorts.

 

Any observations and/or suggestions from your experience? Thanks!

Why don't you use Vienna as a base?? There are 2 exceptional bath-houses there with rent boys available, and you can do day trips to Praha and Budapest easily!

(There is also Alfi's Golden Spiegel bar with all sorts of rentboys right in the heart of Vienna)

Dave, you can't go wrong with Prague. Great city as far it goes for b) and c)

My second choice would be Rome.

Rome may be a bit big and chaotic. Amsterdam is good. Have some hash! Go biking out of the city.

 

Budapest is nice too. Hot gays to pick up is Berlin.

Day trips? You are surely joking. Vienna is five and one-half hours each direction by train from Praha (Prague) while Budapest is more than two and one-half hours each direction from Vienna. Taking an airplane is equally time consuming. What enjoyment could one find in either city on a "day" trip when the better part of the day is in travel mode?

One boy was caught, when he was seen flashing over three hundred dollars at the bar. The article further sates, these incidents are being kept quiet by businessmen in the gay scene. They do not wish to drive off any more customers. Just thought I would pass on this information. Homeless boys in Prague are a big problem. Many know they can sweet talk some guy and get into his hotel room and rob him. The police warn, gay men who travel alone and pick up boys in bars are in danger everytime.

There are several murders every day in Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro and probably in every big town.

This wouldn't stop me visiting a city I like.

Don't get impressed by an article and don't pick your boys from the street.

I do not doubt that there could be several murders every day in large cities. On the other hand, I seriously doubt that the crimes are concealed by local authorities and that the victims are gay men who pick up male hustlers in bars.

 

Prague is a beautiful city and I have been there many times over the past six years. Until recently, I felt safe in Prague. However, Prague has changed for the worse. There are now too many drugs and too many aggressive people on the streets and in the Prague bars.

 

This is not to say that one should not visit Prague as a tourist. As I said, Prague is beautiful. Don't miss visiting there. Only take heed in where you go and whom you take back to your hotel.

Going back to the original criteria, why not Barcelona? It has absolutely everything and the weather in April is likely to be lovely, whereas it could still be miserable in Central Europe.

I would recommend both Berlin and Amsterdam. As for Amsterdam, there are plenty of solo rent boys, and houses with boys, and bars where one can pick up a boy. On my last trip there, I met a young Ethiopian who was delightful. We spent much time together. And when you're not f**king, there is plenty to do.

 

As for Berlin, I think it's THE happening place in Europe at the moment. Plenty of hot saunas, and rent boys, and cultural things. Probably my favorite city in Europe at the moment... I'd recommend the Hilton, on the Gendarmenmarkt.

Re Prague:

 

I've spent a fair amount of time in Prague, as recently as December. The main places I hung out are...

 

Pinnochios -- Bar with lots of rentboys. Major emphasis is on hooking up.

 

Stellas -- Normal bar with a few rentboys. Cool underground bar, major emphasis on drinking and smoking...hooking up may happen, but it's very low-key.

 

Train station -- Lots of working boys, and some military guys who need cash, to pick up. Very fun, but entirely AYOR.

 

Escape -- Semi-cheesey strip bar. Not my favorite, but this is a matter of preference.

 

Some people go to Drake's, but I found it creepy and empty and overpriced.

I have a rented apartment there and even though the city is smaller than my taste for huge cities and the cashiers at the grocery store will patiently hold up the line until you count out the exact change - I like going Dutch.

Fate has intervened, in the form of a friend who got me a REALLY good rate on a London hotel. A deal much much too good to pass up. So once again, off to London. With thoughts of Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

 

It will be fun to make some new friends in London. I hope the adventures there will be worth writing about. Any London lads up dor some fun?

Sorry you are missing out on Prague, Budapest and other great cities in Central Europe. Perhaps on your next visit.

That being said - I lived in London at one time, and visit there about once every two years. An amazing city - history, entertainment, great ethnic food, etc.

And a wonderful selection of gay venues and rentboys!

What more can one ask?????

Why dont you go to Amsterdam for a few days anyway?

In case you dont know its only a 40 minute flight from here (London)and it takes 20 mins to get into town from the Airport.

You can get there and back with Easyjet for £45 if you book a few weeks ahead.

I often go overnight, but it is getting past its best!

Prague is slightly further but its an insult to the place

to go there overnight!!
