I am just back from Europe. Berlin was terrific, but Munich was a complete disaster. I had done my research and had contacted several guys in advance by email but when I got there I spent a fortune using my hotel phone calling them, and 99% never returned my calls. The only one to call me back was Phillip, who is a very nice guy, but not my cup of tea sexually. I have never had such bad results in any city, and I am saying I called about 12 guys. What a fustration!!!

 

So I had to hit the local bars including the rent ones which are small and full of a variety of guys. The rent bars are a bit out of the way, but then again Munich is a difficult city to get around.

 

Alexanders is the best but its hours are far less than posted in Spartacus which says it is open till 3am. By midnight the place is ready to close and it was shut by 1am. The best time to go is 10-11. One night there was a very attractive Czeck blond guy with straight longish hair---just my type but I had reservations about him for some reason--not just that he spoke no english and I no german. If anyone knows him, let me know. He had tight blue jeans and you could see he had good legs, nice buns but a slender swimmers torso.

 

The other bar is Marktklause nearby on Frauenstrasse 20. Seemed to be just full of rentboys waiting for customers and most were Eastern Europeans and turks. But I did find some muscle on one guy there from Romania. E100.

 

Finally comment is about Marcels Gesellschafterteam, http://www.mgm-muenchen.de, which is an agency with a "luxurious penthouse" in THE center of Munich. Not true but a E12-16 taxi ride away! And they quoted outrageous rates, namely 300Euro. This is the kind of rip off joint that used to exist in Europe and I am sorry to say it still does exist.

 

Hope these comments help any travellers. My advice go to Berlin, or Frankfurt. Do not waste your time going to Munich --- including the hour or more to get to the distant but modern airport.

I tried to help him, because he was searching for a real muscular bodybuilder type, who isn't very often in Munich because that's not the european ideal. The only one I knowed didn't work as'n escort anymore, and another man I phoned lost his mobil phone. x(

as a munich resident, I totally agree with your oppinion on the quality of munich escorts and so called "escort services".

I used to travel frequently to Munich while on business in Germany and found the same disappointment you discovered.

 

Of all the German cities where I have worked or visited, Munich has one of the nicest downtown areas but as far as gay life - it is zero or worse. Perhaps Bavarians are more repressed than they wish to admit.

 

Completely on the other end of the spectrum are most major north German cities (Berlin }( ; Frankfort , Cologne :9 and Hamburg }( all in no particular order although my best encounters were always in Franfurt (and more economically reasonable).

I am glad that I read this thread before buying a plane ticket to Munich. Berlin is great. Need some advice. How would a trip to Frankfurt and Cologne be? I visited Frankfurt twice on business, but did not really see the city. Bottom line: Is there any German city even close to Berlin for sex?

Berlin is certainly the best, but Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne all have good sex scenes, and although I haven't tried it, I'm told Dusseldorf has an escort service for the Ruhr area.

I haven't been to Munich for years but I think from my experience there, the sex scene was more discreet than in Berlin or Hamburg. Also I was a lot younger and not looking for escorts at that time. I had my first bathhouse sex in Munich and will never forget the experience. I also got picked up by two older men in a gay bar and had my first threeway there. So excuse me for the rose tinted glasses which are coloring my opinion of Munich.

 

That being said, the scene is much hotter in Berlin and if sex is a big part of your travel plans and escorts figure into the picture you are better off there than any other city in Germany, IMO.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I missed a lousy time in Munich,

because I expected the city to be similar to Berlin. I had planned to spent the entire trip there. That is why this site is so valuable. I might still start the trip in Munich for the culture and then take trains to Cologne and Frankfurt.
