I agree. A "DC ALERT" is not really an alert if there are no details of the problem. Is it unique to DC or could it happen anywhere?

Steven,

Whatever happened, I am glad to hear you are OK. But this is good practice any where, any time. Trust your gut as they say and don't go forward with something if there is any remotely odd sense about the situation.

I have heard that there are a couple of guys running scams off of Craigslist who are based out of Atlanta. But these were warnings posted on CL itself so it's hard to tell what's the real situation. The DC market has been in a state of decline for a while now and it does seem to be getting worse from a client perspective.

I do have to agree with the other poster that some details would be helpful to give others warning. It could be other escorts have had similar issues if it was a whacked out client or some other escort who's not exactly professional.

The important thing here is that you are safe. Take care. :-)

I wouldn't post something like that if I didn't have the sufficient information and proof that the guy is dangerous. I can give details, but my post will get deleted and I value personal information protection. What about if I post that he's currently in DC and his cell phone area code is (678). I can back up this information if needed. Have a great day!

Well, Steven, all I can say is this: I sincerely hope that your dangerous gent in DC does not ever come to my area in FLA.

Anyway, myself's and your other fellow escorts' thoughts and prayers are with you at this time; and we hope you will with time be able to get closure as to the entire incident.

By the way, another in another forum area of this same site spoke about a recent incident that happened and was able to do so apparently without providing personal details as to the party involved; and his posting was not only not deleted it ended up a major topic with lots of contributors.

Your privacy, however, should be respected, no need to cave in to pressure from those here naturally curious as to what exactly happend.

On a personal note, I never really ever know what I may encounter either upon entering a hotel room of another or another's residence; or even, at times, for that matter upon having another come into my residence. A close friend of mine used to insist that I do sufficient screening and use as many safeguards as possible, but nothing is 100 percent.

Of course I choose to keep busy with the work and not focus on the drama: If I did otherwise, I probably would be unable to function for the most part.

Steven,

Fully understand where your coming from on this. It was not clear to me if your issue was caused by a client or an escort situation. Did not mean for you to reveal anything that would have been uncomfortable with or appear unprofessional.

The 678 area code is part of the Atlanta region. Strangely enough the scariest situation I've encountered as a client was in that city. However, I am in no way claiming that ATL is not safe and I've hired some great guys there.

Lesson here is we all have to be careful out there.

Escorts and clients, be extremely careful when are you crossing the street to your home or hotel room. I never thought (even remotely) that something like that could happen one day, but fortunately my sixth sense worked this time. Exercise caution and stay safe!

Actually, I tried praying for him, but God just laughed in my face and said, "Look, Munroe, if you're not gonna tell me what actually happened, I can't help the dude!" :o

I was making a general statement, Rick. Everybody needs to be careful in this business.

Of course I was thinking of the time an escort grabbed me by the throat and slammed me up against wall rifling my pockets for my wallet. Then punched me a couple of times for not brining my ATM and credit card. It was a long while before I hired again after that experience. Whoa! Thanks for the nasty flash back guys. ;(

That sounds fucking hot to me, but then again, rape fantasies are hot while real rape is not. So, I'm sorry you had such a scary/rotten experience (and I'm sorry I got turned on by reading it!).

Gift of Fear

Apparently what Mr. Draker is saying is that he has "The Gift". (And no details!)

Author Gavin de Becker says victims of violent behavior usually feel a sense of fear before any threat or violence takes place. They may distrust the fear, or it may impel them to some action that saves their lives. A leading expert on predicting violent behavior, de Becker believes we can all learn to recognize these signals of the "universal code of violence," and use them as tools to help us survive. The book teaches how to identify the warning signals of a potential attacker and recommends strategies for dealing with the problem before it becomes life threatening. The case studies are gripping and suspenseful, and include tactics for dealing with similar situations.

All right, I'll stay with what I said above to Steven earlier but I will add this to those here still curious and still waiting: We live in a world of dangers and risks, of knowns and unknowns, of fears and freaks: Picture the worst that could have occurred; and probably something along those lines is what Steven was confronted with by the purported prospective client. In any case, for whatever reason or reasons, Steven is not yet ready to divulge any furhter details or perhaps would rather not divulge anything else, as he is still recovering from the trauma.

My mental image of what happened was this: The guy was one of three things: armed and dangerous; a "perv"; or a freak (perhaps one heavily into fetishes); and Steven was expecting, based on the communication, more of the mild-mannered "Clark Kent"-type. There was a struggle and a bit of panic; and Steven managed to get the guy out of the room or whatever close quarters they were in together without committing a homicide. Kudos to Steven, the world is once again safe for love and lust and maybe some love and lust combined. Seriously, I don't think that I could have done it as well as Steven did, if at all.

Bottom line: Steven will talk about all of this further when and if he is good and ready to do so.

I certainly am curious; and yet I choose to wait patiently and am grateful that it was not me.

Cute comments above, some of them, nice senses of humor.

< These Situations come up alot! Probably more with the "Working Girls" than with the Working Guys! Has no one ever watched "Law & Order" ?

I know a very Successful Traveler who also has a Bat in the Hotel Room, should the "wrong thing come up" !

"The Perfect Age"..Somewhere between OLD enuff to know better & Too YOUNG to care! LOL >

JT, this is the most egregious example of you shooting off your mouth just to read your post. Clearly you have not either (a) reached the "perfect age" yet so as to be capable of posting something worthwhile, or (b) your mind is going.

Does it ever occur to you to just keep your fucking mouth shut?

I can respect that, and wish Steven the very best. I won't ask any more questions, but can't guarantee that my imagination won't run wild. Thanks for your response. :)

I'm sure to many people in the world, most of us on this board fall into the last 2 categories. :p

And I, for one, appreciate your very vivid imagination. :7

Years ago I picked a guy up in a DC bar. He bought me a drink, drove me back to my hotel, gave me super wonderful sex, and then cleaned my wallet out on the way out the door. I had hidden most of my cash, so he only got $19.00. It was worth every penny of it!
