Can't say why Talvin uses the same rates in various countries. If he does...

Just wish I were a Brit that was coming to the US... at $160US I would be willing to meet up with Talvin....

Sounds like us Yanks looking for fun overseas... only to be pissed at the exchange rates..

I'm not convinced the guy did hire Talvin. The banalities in the first sentence were exceptionally vague, then the review launches into a diatribe on Talvin's rates. I suspect had they actually met, the reviewer would have found something more to say about an hour with Talvin. My inkling is the reviewer took exception to the ad and just wanted to vent his views.

I agree with your assessment Kevin but can't help but wonder where is Talvin's reply? Usually before a negative review is published it's sent to the escort for reply. Granted some guys don't reply to such until after they are published, usually after one of their clients points it out to them. On the other hand, Talvin may feel that such a review is not worth a response.

Talvin came to Germany last year and I inquired about setting up an appointment with him. Unfortunately he quoted 320 euros as his hourly fee. When I told him that the very best escorts in continentral Europe seldom charge more than 200 euros/hour he didnt budge. Well I didnt hire him, his fees are just outrageous.

All you have to do is read this "BOGUS" Review just once, to realize it is probably written by some guy who knows he never will get the chance to "Press the Flesh" with Talvin.

So someone has decided to "Rant and Rave" about Rates! I wouldn't go as far as to say this was written by another Jealous "Working Guy".. BUT then again that wouldn't be the First time either, would it? LOL

We've read this "Type" of Neg Review before...I see no reason for Talvin to have to even "Respond" to this! He definitely has better things or People TO DO! ;-)

It doesn't seem to be a review of an appointment, but of a conversation pursuant to an appointment that apparently didn't take place, since the guy objected to the rate that Talvin demanded. It sounds like it belongs as a commentin the MB, not the Reviews.

Why bother to fill out the Review Form with all its little details...down to and including the YES.. I would do him again part?

IF you never hooked up, That's Bogus in itself! Or as some like to say..it is a Big Red Flag! LOL

Then go into all the Miami-NYC Blah-Blah! This is "Premeditated Character Assasination"! In Brooklyn we would call a Lawyer, I'm sure Talvin knows more than a few in D.C. PERSONALLY! LOL

I agree the review is most probably bogus.

The review was supposed to have taken place in November 07 in London; however, according to Talvin's Rentboy ad, he doesn't even arrive in the UK until Dec. 4.

However, not adjusting the rate to the local market, does seem quite odd. It's almost 2-3 times the other stated rates for London on Rentboy.

"He [Talvin] definitely has better things or People TO DO!"

Yeah, I agree. Number 1 would be finding the best rate in converting euros into dollars.

It sounds bogus to me, as well. Although it's been several years since my last appointment with Talvin, I would not throw him into a an undistinguishable pile of hot Latinos. Talvin is a cut above, in my estimation, and I've met quite few... On the other hand, he has priced himself out of my range which helps to explain why it's been so long since I've seen him, even though he now visits my home grounds with some regularity (NYC).

There are so many fantastic guys making themselves available in NYC for 200-250 an hour that somebody asking above 300 is just competing in a different league. I'm sure there are guys out there who have the means to spend more than 300 for an escort with regularity, but I'm not one of them....

uwsman..Your definitely right. Talvin has put himself in a Different Sandbox to Play in! I'm sure for that reason there are not that many "Serious Clients" Money Wise.. Playing in it.

I'm guessing with all the Traveling he does, which is Far more than most, his Overhead is also very high. I doubt he's spending anytime in any Motel's. LOL

Also this is for most a "Short Lived Career Choice" for MANY reasons! Make It While You Can Baby! ;-)

Well, my curiosity was greatly peaked by all of this "to-do" over Talvin and his most recent review (Excuse the rhyme!)

Anyway, here is my take on the whole thing: Something did not go entirely right in the in-person with Talvin; and, yes, it is hard to know the following: if it were the effeminate manner of Talvin, as noted by the reviewer, or the rate that was the "clincher", so to speak.

My gut feeling is that the rate did not help matters; and may not have been communicated fully by Talvin.

On the other hand, Talvin deserves some credit: After all, do you see him complaining in the pic while wearing that ultra-tight bikini-wear or bikini-style briefs? No! He is just smiling away.

I guess the morale of this entire matter is this; and, Talvin, take note: "If one wishes to keep his reputation sterling, best, if at all possible, not to have one's escort fee a charge in sterling."

As for the Euro, I don't know a whole lot about it, so I won't go there.

Originally I thought that Talvin was Italian, but after learning that he is apparently Latino, as per the reviewer, I am a bit disappointed. There is something so inherently sexy about Italian gents. I like, in a way, however, that Talvin is pint-sized, he is sort of a cutey I guess: I probably will book him the next time I am in DC, that is of course if this negative review is not his undoing altogether.

Kenny..It's pretty obvious that whom ever "Filled Out the Review Form"..Did not Hookup with Talvin!

I'm sure it in "No Way" will interfere with the Hunks BIZ!

Actually ANY Publicity is Good Publicity! ;-)

I have to say this: Even if I were to completely disregard the most recent review of Talvin as in all likelihood bogus, I am completely amazed, actually dumbfounded by what is in the review for Talvin that is the one right before this: A rate of $480 for 1.5 hours.

If Talvin is truly getting that much, I don't think we have to be too concerned about Talvin or chime too quickly into a chorus of "Poor, poor Talvin!".

As I said, I have no problem with hiring Talvin regardless of all of the controversy; and, by the way, even if the review is bogus, it did indicate "satisfactory" as to Talvin: Since when is "satisfactory" the same as being bad?

KENNY

Kenny..Bogus is Bogus..which means "Not Genuine"! Therefore whatever was said, has No Value whatsoever! LOL

Many of us would not use "Poor and Talvin" in the same sentence for sure! LOL

His Rates and His Biz are just that..HIS.. Like everyone else who is "Working It"! ;-)

In additon to rating Talvin satisfactory (while stating that he would not hire him again), the person who wrote the review also stated "but he is no different from the many (many) other Latino guys currently living and escorting in London."

I assumed that Daddy contacted the reviewer by e-mail to verify the review. I've been around here since 2000, and am aware that the people who manage this site know Talvin. I understand this is a minority opinion: IMO putting the review up demonstrates the integrity of the people in charge here.

I've hired Talvin before and probably will again. I don't normally hire tops but I hire Talvin because there's just good chemistry between us. (And the showers afterward can't be beat! ;-))

I have to add the caveat that we've also become quite friendly outside the bedroom. I've helped him a couple of times with his website and a few other things when he was traveling and couldn't be easily reached by tech support.

I say all of that only so you'll understand my comments here.

Talvin asked me whether he should rebut this review and I suggested he shouldn't. Apparently he listened. There would be no point. The encounter clearly did not happen, as many of the more astute readers have suggested. Anything Talvin said would be picked apart, ignoring the review.

I told him to let the review stand and that you guys would dissect and analyze it and that's just what you've done!

What we've learned from this "review" (which really isn't a review at all and IMO shouldn't have been published) is that:

1) Talvin is expensive.

Didn't we already know that? Hasn't that dead horse been beaten for years?

Probably good advice....but (didn't you just know there would be a but) there are many that just look at the reviews and not the message center, so even though it was analyzed here, there will be many that see the review only.

Also, things have a way of slipping away with time on the message center, but reviews seem to have a much longer lifespan. So even if Talvin had submitted a rebuttal and it was picked apart, it too would have had a shorter lifespan on the MC. But on the review site, the escort has the last word.

Just my two cents worth....you get them for free!

I did consider that, and I'm often the first to point out that fewer than 10% of this site's traffic visits the MC.

But review readers also have the review history, with (what? 200?) other reviews. As a body of work (pardon the phrase), Talvin's reviews present quite a respectable picture.

Oh, worth far more than what you're charging! ;-)

Yup...and you were my source for fact! :p

Well, as I said, I would be fine with hiring Talvin.

I certainly am a bit conflicted as to what Talvin should or should not do in this instance. However, if I were in Talvin's position I tend to think that I would post a rebuttal, even if it were a rebuttal simply denying that an actual in-person transaction had occurred. The reason why I would do so is this: Many of us who take the time to read reviews have relatively short attention spans and don't always read a body of reviews or even recall certain details if we do and often simply focus our attention on the very first review appearing (which is usually the most recent review): It is hard, not necessarily impossible but nevertheless hard, to entirely block out a negative review, even one believed to be bogus or likely bogus, and that is presuming of course that an individual reading the review is aware of things posted otherwise or facts in general which would support the review being fake.

As a businessman, I must say that Talvin losing income as a result of this review is a bit troubling. Yet, even more troubling is this: Why on earth would someone who represents himself as a friend of Talvin advise the young fellow to keep mum on this issue?

The reality is this: If Talvin waits too long in rebutting the review, he may have diminished credibility as to what he is saying in his rebuttal as a result of his delay in speaking up.

Yes, it is very true that a complicating factor is that many who read the reviews on Daddysreviews.com do not participate in the forums; and therefore won't have certain purported facts at their disposal.

I would be very interested to know as well if Talvin has a twin brother named Alvin?, I understand that identical escort twins can be hot; and recently I saw the Chad and Brad thing on THE BACHELOR, which was nice. If I do not book Talvin, I would consider possibly, in his stead, booking Alvin (presuming of course that Alvin does exist and is in the industry).

Yes, I have a couple of postings already above on this Talvin review issue, so I assure you that I have not "lost it", jesting aside. LOL

If you were truly a businessman you'd know it's his issue, not yours, to worry about.

The "review" was a rate rant. No escort can win a rate rant no matter what he says.

Nice to see you back at the feeding trough, though.
