>I've never really had a totally legitimate massage,

>least of all a straight one. I always thought straight

>guys got massages from women.

You know, I've tried to avoid responding to this but it keeps coming back to me and I'm not sure how to word the response.

We (the gay community) spend a lot of time saying that the stereotype (of the gay community) isn't what we are.

And in the same breath we perpetuate other stereotypes that are convenient. Str8 men get massages only from women, black men have big dicks, muscle guys are big-ole bottoms, etc.

If we want the str8 community to take us seriously, shouldn't we drop a few of the stereotypes from our side as well?

I'm sorry. I'm not saying this well. Don't mean to be accusatory or whiney, but well, I'm being accusatory and whiney. ;-)

The sooner WE drop the categories, the sooner THEY will.

Four years ago, in Taipe, at a very classy hotel, I asked the youthful Fitness attendant for a young masseus (they are operated by the municipality there). So, after working out, a swim, and a sauna, I laid down in the ornate massage room with a towel over me. In two seconds on my abbs, I was hard, and he grabbed by cock and said, "This is a muscle too. Would you like me to massage it?" He made me cum twice. Since then, I always ask for a male masseus, take a viagra, and start nude on my stomach. The point is: a hard on is natural. This entire dialogue about shyness with a hardon is strickly an American attitude about the naturalness of our bodies. 70% of the masseues quietly and happily complete the massage with you. Start nude on your stomach, its natural, and contrary to being stressfull, its . . . .

Ah, but scientific studies do, in fact, show that black men on average do have larger dicks. It reminds me of when I was in residency at the hospital. One of my fellow residents told me that a (straight) obstetrician was explaining him how to perform a circumcision on an Asian baby boy: "You've got to be careful with Orientals, or you can take half their penis off!". As it turns out, there was an Asian man standing a few steps behind this obstetrician (not the baby's father, though).

But I was just trying to find out from whom straight men usually prefer to get massages. I think you were reading too much into my question, and perhaps taking it far too seriously.

Dear Jack, Wrongo! About at least two things: 1. The cock is not a muscle, it is an organ. It can be moved by muscles up inside your body, but it is quite incapable of contracting itself to move itself or anything else. 2. Massage givers - "masseuse" is female, "masseur" is male. Having found you incorrect on such minor d'oh matters, you can surely anticipate just how much credence I place in your claims as to what a large percentage of massages end in sexual release. This kind of thinking may be titillating to us, but are the kind of thing that keep many gay men who really need a good muscle massage afraid to go get one. The largest human sexual organ is the skin (second is the brain) (or do I have them reversed, sizewise) so of course a very large number of massage clients get hardons. However, as others have said, an experienced, competant masseur is quite capable of ignoring even a gorgeous, naked hardon, especially when he is focused on your muscles. In fact, a masseur's mindset often gets so into seeing your body as a collection of muscles that though it might feel like you're getting an hour's worth of foreplay, he feels like he's been successful at finding and eliminating x number of muscular problems. It could take quite a thorough mindshift, and more time and foreplay than you're likely to give him in the circumstances, to get him turned on. Unless, of course, he went into this knowing it was meant to be an erotic massage. And, although I have never been a totally heterosexual male, I would assume that many of them go to male masseurs on purpose so that it won't cause them to want to turn it into sex, and everyone in the room can concentrate on their poor aching backs as much as possible.
