This is probably not as uncommon,in one degree or the other, as you might think especially with older clients. There is this particular escort I saw for a very long period when I was first struggling with my identity. My time with him was probably the best time of my life and the resulting personal rewards from having known and spent time with him have been immense. I was his last client and he moved on to follow his dream in the business/accounting world. He has no clue but when I am gone he will receive a nice check from my estate -- not my total estate by any means but a nice check nevertheless. Am I embarrassed that I am including an x-hooker in my will? Not in the least, as hookers are people too and I was fortunate and found an exceptional one who took me by the hand and rescued me from my miserable self. A final note: I didn't mean to be bragging about my wealth and I don't want to come across as being arrogant. I am just an ordinary guy who lucked out and made some good investments in life.

What a nice gesture but what if the escort happens to die before you do?

Maybe some explaining needing to be done on both family sides?

I have two clients who've put me in their wills. Not for all their money, but still a generous amount.

I'll bet the attorney has that situation handled. Wills always have an "otherwise" clause in case the beneficiary kicks off first.

The French have it all over the Americans in these regards. They have an arrangement called a concubinage with is not a marriage, but legally binding and spells out the rights and responsibilities of the parties to the liason, what follows the death of one of the parties, etc. (The French are also the country that ascribes to the notion that America is the only empire that went directly from barbarism to decadence without an intervening period of civilization.)
