doubts about reviews on men4rentnow

I just looked at the men4rentnow.com site for the first time after reading one of the postings on this list. I was surprised to see a couple of the escorts who have consistently great reviews on hooboy had bad reviews on men4rentnow. For instance Jason Markus, Derek Ross, and Steve Roberts.

Now I have hired Jason, and he is fantastic, just as the hooboy reviews indicate. So I can only deduce that someone posted some bad reviews on men4rent for the better known guys on purpose. It's so easy to post there, that it probably is more open to competitors sending false info.

That's just my guess. Anyone else have info or opinions on this?

The reviews at this site are for too generic as well as suspect for me. I don't like the foremat because it does not allow for a reviewer to do any actual writing. When I went through some of these last week, I thought-- "What the hell!" I'd really wanted to contact the webmaster requesting that he redesign and devise a system where clients could justify each area in the ratings.

 

I see that I'm not alone in my dubious and perplexed state; I'll continue to use Hooboy's reviews as my principal guage as I've done for the past 2 and 1/2 years!!

If any reviewer stated that Jason Markus was a poor performer, that reviewer would count for NADA, ZILCH, RIEN, KAPUT in my book. Cuz Jason is the greatest sex machine in NYC, in my humble opinion (also in Miami, where he maintains a second home). And I have the stretch marks to prove it}(

Now, now big guy, the human body is a wonderous thing and while I agree that Jason Markus, at least personality wise, is a prince amongst toads, I think you are being a little hard on yourself.

 

As for the reviews, as Devon pointed out in another post about it somewhere else in The Deli, the site really is not very well set up. While the search engine is good, it loads based on who is logging in a lot, so if Joe Escort is bored and has nothing better to do, he can be at the top of the page, while guys who are busy like Jason Markus, Devon or Derek Ross (or who have a life like these guys and many of us other escorts do), will require more digging on the part of the client.

 

Some of the search engine load alphabetically, some load based on when you listed; while either of those are not ideal, especially if your last name is Ross verus di Santis, at least there is some fairness involved. Other sites (i.e. Rent Boy) will load first based on who pays for premium placement, but once you get past those few guys, it loads it either an alphabetical or when joined manner.

 

Also, as Devon noted, even though they ask us, the escorts, for our web site information when we sign up, they do not offer it. Just like Guys 4 Rent and a few other sites, they do not want to move traffic AWAY from their site. This is really also as much a disservice to the clients as it is to the escorts. It also is especially if the site would charge the clients to see nudes or simply more information and material about the escorts.

 

It is obvious from the number of client questions about "Joe Escort" or "Joey Escort" (has anyone been with so and so from XYZ city), that most clients want to be able to see more photographs, read reviews, hear WORTHWHILE client feedback in order to make a good, informed decision on who to hire. Some sites (like this one) obviously want to do this.

 

Other sites obviously have their own agendas and their own business plans which may not take either the needs of the clients or the escorts into account.

 

Finally, to address the specific topic of the Men 4 Rent Now reviews, any one (a competitive escort, a disgruntled former trick, someone - and we can all think of a few usual suspects among the posters here) can write these unverified reviews on Men 4 Rent Now. It would be very easy for an escort to do so for himself. If I were a client, I would only use the information on Men 4 Rent Now in conjunction with other information, such as reviews from this site.

agreed. and so I do much prefer this site. In fact men4rentnow seems not very useful if you watch this site and rentboy, which have better reviews and/or better photos. The only feature I like on men4rentnow is the "stud" list the client can make for himself. That's kind of fun, but nonessential.

Rent Boy versus Men 4 Rent

 

Well, in their defense, right now there are MANY more guys on M4RN than on RB.

 

However, once they start charging the escort (please see the thread in The Lounge), many are likely to drop out or not be contactable by the clients, which makes it worthless to both.

 

One other factor which might make M4RN worthwhile, as someone pointed out on their thread, is that Rent Boy is good on the West and East coasts, in the big urban markets. Men 4 Rent Now has escorts listed in places you never even knew had a gay bar. On the other hand, I would think most men would know who their local meat is so this may only be of service to closeted clients or to travelers.

Of course, their "reviews" are totally able to be manipulated, besides being basically worthless even if they are real. x(

 

As an aside, I discovered that many guys who list themselves as escorts on men4rentnow, also list themselves "as themselves" on the sister site, men4sexnow. You'd be AMAZED at how many escorts are age 25 on men4rentnow, but who are age 30 or older on men4sexnow. :+
