Hong Kong 5 nights. Lantau: Big Buddha + Tai O

My time is tight, how essential is Lantau:  Big Buddha + Tai O?  It looks fun, how crucial is it?  THANKS!

It honestly depends on what you're into.  Lantau has beautiful views on a clear day.  The ferry ride itself is nice and completely changes the hustle and bustle of HK proper.  Tai O is quaint.  If seeing an old historic fishing town built on wood silts isn't of interest to you beyond the photo op, the time it takes on your trip may be a disappointment.
