Does anyone have intel on this provider:

The photos match up with an Instagram account in New York.

I also found a reference to Gavin in a thread about AI men's spa, and the poster included one of the photos I see on the Instagram account. When I reached out to AI men's spa, they said he had moved to China.

So maybe it was another Gavin?

I sent a text this morning, but I have not heard back.

Any information would be appreciated.

All these concerns are valid, but as BaronArtz pointed out, the deposit is required for "Future bookings". That is totally understandable in my book, because if someone cancels or "forgets", then the masseur is out the session fee. A doctor WILL charge you a fee if you cancel your appointment last minute. And for booking certain restaurants you are obligated to provide credit card information. But it could also work to dissuade time wasters.

Regarding Dr., there have been many uses of the word Dr. in the recent past that have caused a lot of confusion, if not controversy. Dr. Jill Biden, Dr. Love, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Dr. Pepper, Dr. Bronner.

In fact, up to four years ago there was another masseur in New York named DrMorocho.

I think in his case it was being used as a playful moniker, as in Dr. Love, but I digress. And in his case, HE was the one who would leave deposits.

The ad is not advertising Gavin's medical services, rather his massage services. Please do not schedule a transplant through this ad.

When I texted him he told me, "I do this on the side when I am able because I enjoy it." Given how this horrible economy has affected many people, if the man wants to make side money doing something he enjoys, who can blame him.

Also, Santi, another provider discussed elsewhere, told me he is actually a dentist in his native country, but works as a dental assistant here. Massage and escorting are on the side to make ends meet. Some people can do two things that are not mutually exclusive, as long as they don't do them at the same time.

I plan to see Gavin, in his white coat or out of it, the Saturday after Labor Day, and of course you can count on my report!

I don't.  I pay a co-pay at the time the services are rendered.

Right, but when you agree to the appointment there is a disclaimer that if you cancel less than 24 hours or whatever they can charge you a fee. When I make the appointment online, there is text that you have to agree to before you confirm the appointment. When phoning or in person, they always say, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or change your appointment. There is a ## fee for late cancellation.

The only difference is, you need to see your doctor again, so you pay the fee. If someone cancels massage appointment there is no recourse. When the massage is booked far in advance, a deposit makes sense. Though frankly Gavin has not asked me for one yet.

Had a great experience with Dr. Gavin. First of all, he is a licensed cosmetic surgeon. Massage is something he does because he enjoys.

Second of all, massage is in a very clean and professional setting, in the same place where he does skin treatments. There is a treatment room and a massage room. 

Third of all, I opted for the therapeutic massage, which was very satisfying. He is capable of very good pressure. Massage begins with a dry warm-up, then he uses this very high-quality oil that does not feel greasy at all. He also cleans your body when he is done with each muscle group. Shower on premises.

He is a very attractive Chinese man, not as young as the photos suggest, or as airbrushed, but he is very attractive, affable, and very professional.

It is near the Main Street stop on the 7 line. I assume if you are driving, there is parking. 

I took an Uber there and the subway back. Uber was very expensive, so will need to time my appointments better in future.
